Brought my Goldendoodle in for a dental cleaning. Excellent service. Breath smelled great and refreshing.

Overpriced. Won't even give basic advice over the phone. They demand payment just to do a consultation.

She then proceeded to continue talking to a woman who voiced possible financial distress. They continued talking ignoring me. While I did not expect them to stop their conversation, which clearly was not life or death or dire pain, I did expect the vet to at the least say hello, to acknowledge me. I will never pay someone to treat me poorly. Since my puppy's matter was not a life or death emergency, I picked him up and walked out! It was very clear to me why I was being ignored. I dare that technician to say otherwise. I don't recommend patronizing any business whose employees are rude lacking half way decent, customer oriented service skills. If I could, I wouldn't give this business one star. I went to Truss on Sunday morning, where my dog was treated well and so was I.

I accompanied my friend who brought her beloved cat in for a check-up after he was not eating. The…read moreveterinarian who saw him (Dr. Fizer) was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. He barely performed an exam and was unable to give us any sort of differential diagnosis. He shared his thoughts that the cat might have cancer, and even while doing so was incredibly callous. He laughed and made strange jokes several times during this conversation. He stated he didn't want to have to leave without answering her questions because his feet were tired (?). When she expressed that she would not be able to afford a hospitalization, he laughed and mentioned that if this was his cat "he would hospitalize [them] because he gets a great discount." He laughed again while having her sign an AMA form, saying "I just don't want you to sue me because you're not listening to me." I strongly feel that part of the reason for his insistence that she put him down immediately that night was likely due to his financial benefit if she did so. The cat was otherwise stable and not showing any signs of acute distress. When she asked about supportive medications to make it through the night so she could see her primary vet in the morning, he continued to use judgmental and hurtful language, saying "I wouldn't want *my* cat to suffer but I guess others have different beliefs." Because we were able to understand how he was pressuring her, we chose to go home. Our friend was ultimately able to seek a second opinion, and pursue a loving and peaceful euthanasia in the cat's own home the next day. The vet tech in comparison who did the intake and check out was very kind and helpful. I would only consider going here if you were seeing a different veterinarian doctor. Anybody who has a sick pet knows how devastating this can be, and deserves to be seen by a provider who is compassionate and understanding.

Writing this review following our initial emergency, prior to our follow-up visit!…read more Our dog experienced a seizure (her first ever) at home, a few weeks ago. We had just moved to this area a few days prior, so we called the closest emergency vet we could find. The staff on the phone were able to calmly handle the situation (and calm us down), tell us exactly what to do, and we were waiting for us the second we arrived at the hospital. Once at the hospital, they took our fur baby back, and stabilized her and her vitals. Dr. Shuttleworth came out to tell us she was stable, no more seizures, and presented us with all of our options moving forward. He was calm and reassuring. The staff was ALL friendly, and knowledgeable, and most importantly, not pushy (allowed us time to figure out what the right path was for our family). They were up front about ALL options, pricing, and suggestions. I really appreciated the staff being supportive, and giving us direction. I felt they were concerned, receptive to all of our questions and fears, and really made our situation better (less scary for us). Also to note- I was not available the day after (while our fur baby was at the hospital having procedures done) and I was able to call once off work to get the full report of all the testing, firsthand from the neurologist (Dr. Warren). I appreciated him taking the time to explain tests & labs to both my partner and me (was not annoyed at all that he had to repeat all the information twice during the day) Moving forward, we will have follow- up appointments with Dr. Warren, at the same location. I appreciate that they have several specialists here, if you need one after your initial ER visit. Yes, it is expensive, just as any animal hospital is. I don't think their prices are much different from other emergency vets we've been to (for previous, non-related issues). Loved this ER vet and would recommend to others in the area. Competent, compassionate, and caring.

NC State managed to stabilize him and treated us with professionalism and respect, informing us of costs all along the way. TVRH is a terrible facility that provides sub-standard care for sky-high prices. our vet told us to never take animals to this hospital and to go to VEG in Chapel Hill instead.
