I was never paid by the salon nor the stylist to write reviews. I was a student who used part-time job money to pay for my weave and also discovered Yelp at that time and thought it was the coolest website ever (before it became this fancy app). I really had (and still have) a passion for writing and enjoy writing reviews so I kept doing it for my enjoyment. I never got paid at all for ANY review that I written on here so I just want to make that clear to you. I was an Elite twice (that was my reward) but that was it. To my defense, my experience was amazing at Salon Niquel. Niquel and Simone West (from my interaction with them) are amazing ladies. I never had any issues with them and they KNOW hair. I haven't been back since though and I know Simone West branched off to do her own thing. But I'm sorry you had a horrible experience. My opinion was just basically my opinion. Sorry that you took my opinion to Mars and felt that it was factual. No hard feelings though. I don't care what minions think but for my real Yelpers on here (who be Yelping all day and all night across the globe), the love runs deep and we, as real Yelpers, don't give AF what anyone says. I'm honestly so disturbed by the experience I had here, especially after reading so many glowing…read morereviews. I came in for a first time curly haircut with Michelle. I have very fine hair but it does have a curl to it. I was looking for a cut that would help bring that out but also help make my hair look more full. I understood that some of the length needed to go but I wanted to hold onto as much of would could be saved as possible, which I tried to explain but fell on deaf ears. I walked into the small salon and checked in with June. This place is dirty even for a hair salon, the corners of the floors and ceilings look like they haven't been cleaned since the day this place opened. I explained what I wanted to Michelle length wise, she showed me where she'd recommend cutting which was a little below shoulder length, which I was fine with. She asked me my hair care routine then walked away in the middle of me explaining it without a "one second" or anything. Then she came back and started cutting it dry which was shorter than what she had showed me but it was too late. She also gave me angles on just one side of my face without asking me if I wanted them or how short around my face to go. In the middle of this, she starts yelling at Jun about not properly checking people in, insulting her intelligence. This went on for a while and it was extremely unprofessional and so uncomfortable. She passed me off to Jun to have my hair washed telling me she would check the cut after. She scrunched my hair dry after this (again yelling at Jun asking her if it was her first day working for not having a microfiber towel ready). She never checked the hair cut again. When I told her the other side of my hair looked scraggly (the one that she cut no angles on) she said that was just my hair. My hair cut is uneven in the front and length wise which she never bothered to check and SO much shorter than what we agreed to - even shorter when it's curled with products, which she never bothered to bring up since I came in with clean, dry hair as directed on her site. I cannot believe she charges $150 for this level of service. I would either avoid this place or go with Jun if you come here because she must really need the money to put up with Michelle's abuse like this. What a mess. Regarding the owner's response: She knows she's in the wrong and rather than take accountability (at the very LEAST, for the way she treated Jun during the hour I was there), she's had friends write reviews to try and push mine down. Michelle, if your honest to god definition of mentorship is asking Jun if it's her first day for not immediately having your towel ready at a moment's notice and telling her "something must be wrong with you" for not checking people out properly, insulting her over and over in circles until she finally meekly tells you yes, she gets it, then I feel sorry for any future employees/victims you take under your wing. Treat your employee with human decency instead of embarrassing her. Jun, I hope you find a new job soon.

Ozlem really did a deep in depth analysis of my hair what I've done to it to make sure I don't keep damaging it. She color corrected my hair. BUT what is even better she was really educating me on what products to use and how we will slowly get back on track she def doesn't BS because she knows what she's doing! I love how she cuts my layers and curtain bags. I went back to her for a few bang trims too. She now knows how I like them cut which is so nice. Always happy with her haircuts- highly recommend!! Recently, I decided to try a curly haircut with Adela (as I've recently started to accept my natural curls). I LOVED how she sat down with me before starting and asked me questions about my hair, routine, preferences, and gave me advice on how to take care of it. She also walked me through her haircut steps and technique as she went along. I love my curly cut! Highly recommend Adela- she's very clearly knowledgeable and experienced with curly haircuts. Also need to highlight how friendly all the staff is. When you walk in, they offer coffee, tea or water. I've always felt attended to and welcomed!
