He made repeated administrative errors, such as filing paperwork incorrectly, missing deadlines, and even misspelling my name and my company's name multiple times. While I initially overlooked these mistakes, things only worsened over time. One of my biggest concerns was Ron's reluctance to answer questions beyond quarterly payroll tax filings. I often felt like an annoyance rather than a valued client. More critically, he failed to inform me that I wasn't making estimated personal income tax payments, which led to a substantial tax bill for 2024--complete with penalties. Based on my experience with him, I expect he would say this wasn't his responsibility, but better communication could have prevented the issue. Additionally, his tax planning knowledge was not the right fit. For instance, he was unfamiliar with Solo 401(k) plans and only recommended SEP IRAs, which didn't align with my financial strategy. He also would push back against strategies like structuring payroll for my spouse, paying her the max required for a 401(k) contribution, and "netting out." Beyond these shortcomings, his overall responsiveness was mediocre to poor--not just during tax season but consistently throughout the year. He was only reachable via email and rarely by phone, making it difficult to get timely responses. To be fair, Ron is very affordable compared to other CPAs. At the time, I was paying a fraction of what I pay now. However, I've come to realize that paying three times as much for my new CPA is well worth it--because at least now, I don't have IRS penalties, unexpected tax bills, or unanswered questions. My new CPA is available via phone and Zoom, open to one-on-one consultations, and takes the time to ensure I understand my tax strategy. If you're looking for a CPA who provides proactive guidance, strategic tax planning, and clear explanations, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Just as we expect doctors to have bedside manner, I believe a CPA should show a level of respect and care for their clients. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I often felt disregarded, and the lack of communication left me with IRS penalty letters, an unexpected tax bill, and a new CPA who is now cleaning up the mess. Ultimately, I take responsibility for not holding Ron accountable sooner. However, if you choose to work with him, be prepared to take a very hands-on approach and ensure you fully understand what he is offering. I've since found a CPA who is a much better fit--someone who takes the time to explain tax-saving strategies, aligns with my long-term financial goals, and ensures I won't be blindsided by another massive tax bill in 2025.

This man will railroad you if given the opportunity and this is exactly what he did to me. I could have just paid the ticket and been done. Instead I paid this man three hundred dollars to fight this and keep it off my record. The results I got from this was not even a phone call I got an email from his secretary with the results of him going to court for me. Keep in mind this was a ticket. Now I'm on probation for three months, I owe the court over three hundred dollars and I was never asked if this was ok . He just tossed me under the buss because he didn't want to have to deal with arlington courts because they require him to be there in person and he can't do it from his office. Pure laziness. I'm in a far worse position now than i was before I hired this crook. If you have any sense keep looking DO NOT hire this man. You will regret it !!!!

The homeowners, and by extension, the HOA gets screwed by getting harrassed and threatened with foreclosure of a home due to unlawful and irresponsible fees in violation of some non-existent made up rule. Again, if you are in need of a law firm that is respectable, reasonable, and not just out to squander the everyday, working man you need to look else where. This law firm, and the owner, Thomas L. Kapioltas, serves no one but the green paper that he collects from the complicit Property Manager firms that hire him, who in turn, are hired by the HOA board of directors that, in my estimation, need to get a life & a career where they can live out their fantasies of being power brokers! To go through the proceedings to foreclose on a respectable and productive citizen of the US and state of Texas for $1,200.00 fees assessed as a penalty for not removing a satellite from the roof of ones house is not only unethical, unlawful, but down right dirty and sleazy. I would think a Lawyer worth the dollars he charges to be responsible to consult his clients to be reasonable and not waste our tax dollars with petty and unsubstantiated lawsuits just to make a buck. This is a law firm and a lawyer that gives all lawyers a bad name and causes everyone to scream in disgust when the word 'lawyer' is spoken.
