This was the hardest time i have ever done in my life. I am no stranger to jail from a few offenses in different states. Two hot "meals" a day and a sack lunch at that time. I was brought to trusty to be a, for lack of better terms, a janitor. The max amount of time off you get credited toward Your time is 2-1 days.. i was thrown into situations unto which i had no formal training, and if i refused i was dismissed from the trusty program. Biological clean up such as spilled blood and vomit, to feces being smeared on walls to create the most thoughtful pictures. I showed up before the corona virus outbreak and when that hit i had to start sanitizing cells that had such been exposed to the virus. I had run a low grade fever for two days and i was forced into isolation, for a temperature that never exceeded the limit unto which they had promised me, 7 different deputies and nurses, some of considerable rank, said would not affect my release date. They moved my release day back because of a sickness I acquired doing the job i was assigned. The deputies, or ~95 percent of them are on impressive power trips, going to extreme lengths to demean those incarcerated. I was called bitch and otherwise and several occasions. I was refused showers on at least a half weekly basis directly after corona-virus clean up, forced to sit in filth in my Cell until deputy miles seemed it fit for me to take proper precautions against spreading disease. It was rather extraordinary the amount of public neglect, a sheriff's deputy can display. As a cleaner for the jail i was in all areas of the jail. The kitchen, run by aramark, wouldn't of passed a state health inspection by a bribed and crooked official. Mold and the smell of rotting food was ungodly. The juice bins were tossed on the unclean floor and refilled for the next meal. With nothing but a quick rinse.. All of this being said, i am the one that put myself in jail, but this is a crime of indecency against our fellow human beings. Out of all these glaring reasons for this jail to be at the very least, "walked through", there was a few people that made my experience tolerable, and treated me with the respect a human being deserves. First is crew leader raymundo. I was there while she went through training and saw/worked with her for a few weeks before my release. She is super cool and while she learning the ropes still, the amount of respect she has for inmates makes all of the difference and her calm demeanor makes her easy to work with. Next is crew leader sap. After corona hit she was removed as well as the trustees from the warehouse position that she was posted to. She became a general crew leader monday through friday, filling in for unexpected absences from other crew leaders or doing special projects. She is totally chill and also a pretty awesome human being. Again, treating inmates like people actually working for you goes a long way. But the best crew leader by an absolute mile is crew leader bradbury. She was the most badass, gangster crewleader of them all. Not only was she kind to all of us, the amount of trust and respect for her fellow human beings was above reproach. She was by the book, in every way, but she was totally cool about just having to do what she did because she had to. She helped us pull trash and do other minimal things that others just simply did not do. She had a good attitude every single day and i looked forward to another day in hell accompanied by at the very least a person who wouldnt treat me like shit. She needs a promotion or an award or something. I saw not a soul do more for the well-being of her inmates and the overall good for the jail than crew leader bradbury. BUT!!! I don't even know where to start. I had such an amazing experience at the Arapahoe County Jail. The food was superb, the staff were accommodating, and the living quarters were spacious and clean. I met quite the diverse crowd inside. From US Olympic triathlon athletes to 5 time felons going back for another 4 year stint in the pen. I guess I'll start with the food. I can't speak for what is served in General Population, as I never made it out of booking. The food served in booking is the same for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A sack lunch with a bread roll, about 5 ounces of questionable meat (Seriously no idea what it is... ham? Soylent Green?), 2 mustard packets, 1 lemon cookie, and either an 8 ounce artificial orange juice or lukewarm tea. Breakfast is served at a reasonable 4:30 AM. I'm not sure if the CO's were bored or if this is standard operating procedure. Lunch is served at 10:00 am and dinner at 7:00 PM. I'm assuming these times fluctuate through out the week depending on which staff are working and how busy they are. Speaking of the staff, they were absolutely more than accommodating when it came to the most basic needs. Towards the end of my stay at this wonderful facility I met an inmate with type 2 diabetes. He was entered into the jail system 48 hours prior to my arrival in the fish tank, and he had yet to receive any medical attention from the nursing staff. I'm sure they were attending to more important matters than some convicted felon's blood sugar levels. Glossing over all the imperfections by the staff, they shouldn't be held to a standard any higher than the inmates. After all they're just people like the inmates. Moving on to the spacious living quarters this great facility has to offer. If you seen the pictures of the cell you'll notice that there are two beds with three inmates in a room about 10' x 10'. Plenty enough space for three grown adults. Why would you need any more? What about bathrooms? Why not put them in the room with inmates? Besides the fact that putting a three foot high wall to separate the toilet from the rest of the room would cost too much, but it would inconvenience the operation of the jail. Ain't nobody got time for that!. What about drinking water for the inmates? Why not put a half fountain half sink on top of the toilet? I'm sure most of the staff have similar setups in their own personal homes. It's super convenient. Just imagine all the time you would save not having to walk the five feet from the toilet to the sink to wash your hands. I think the brilliant minds that came up with the design of these toilets are on to something here. Maybe they can redesign the showers to include the toilets so the inmates can just hit two birds with one stone. It's a work in progress I'm sure. There's an overpopulation problem in most prisons and jails. How does Arapahoe County Jail overcome this hurdle? Why not just put mats on the floor? Problem solved. After all these are just criminals that we are dealing with. Anybody that comes in here clearly deserves to be treated like second class citizens. Contrary to what you may think about the common perception of what goes on in jail is actually true. The inmates are all upset that they are there. They all have lives. Most have kids, jobs, bills, spouses, and normal lives outside jail. Being in jail is a huge inconvenience for them. Most people just want to get out. There were no physical altercations, or sexual harassment. Everybody was courteous to each other and respectful of what little room they had to share. In summary, I recommend this facility with two thumbs up and five stars. Fantastic food, accommodating staff, and spacious cells with breathtaking views. If you ever get a chance to visit, be sure and request the Soylent Green. read more

So let's talk about a terrible no good detective. Her name is Paula Roxanne Benson. She's been with 4 of the Sargent's in that department. Finally got her new dude to divorce his wife and leave his kids after cheating with him for 20 years and counting. She cheated on the first to cop husband's with this man she's with now! I even had to agree to lie to her first husband if he called me and tell him she was at my house the night before. This woman ​has showed me pictures of dead men that overdosed and even committed suicide and were not clothed she's disgusting.Now this Great officer of the year is actually ​going out with this woman who is a times 4 convicted felon who has Several drug charges. This is a horrible jail. They let my ex who was undercover in there to poison me everyday, he poisoned my food, my medication, and he tried to induce the heart attack using nicotine in the air.
