He wanted me to take the TV to his home because he said he will charge $40 if he comes to my home and fix it. Then I took the TV to his home and without even checking anything he said this cannot be repaired and then he tried to sell the TVs that he has in stock. Since I was not ready to buy the TV from him, he charged $40 as his diagnosis fee, still not sure what diagnosis he has done. My TV is currently under repair by another person and he promised issue will be fixed soon. read more

This is the first review I have done for anyone!! I just don't!! But I have to say something about the professionalism of Arbat TV Repair! I really appreciate how responsive Mike was too my need. My 85 inch Samsung Q7LED tv went out after a power surge. He told me upfront that it could be my power supply or my motherboard. He said his service fee is $80 to come out to diagnose the problem, but if I would agree to allow him to order both parts he would only charge me $30 return fee for the part I didn't need, instead of charging me $80 to come and diagnose the problem first. We did that and he was right, we saved $50.00. He even helped me take down my heavy ass tv to put on the carpet after we both talked about our back issues!Lol! It took him 15 min and I was elated that it was working again and I saved Thousands of dollars on buying a new one!!! I would definitely recommend Mike to anyone who needs tv repair!!! Hate to break up this little 5 star party, but my experience was definitely not that. I called mike and asked if he could repair plasma TVs and he said he could. I gave him the model number and the trouble code (7 blinking red lights). I agreed to the $80 service call and he can out a couple hours later. Cool. From there it just didn't go well. Didn't seem very professional. Just seemed like a random guy with some basic tools (who uses a corded drill to take apart a TV). Basically he just confirmed that there was a problem with the board and suggested that I look on eBay for a used one or a repair service. I thought you could work on these? He told me he can't work on them once he got there and there are no parts available. So if you knew that, and knew what was wrong with my tv before you came over, then it seems like a hustle just to take $80. He took out the SC board and told me there may be a problem with the buffer boards (SD & SU) but there is no way to check and be sure. So he left those in the tv, took my money and left. He didn't really offer any solid advice. I just had to keep asking questions until I could piece together something useful. Summary: can't fix, won't deal with companies that fix, can't get parts, can't fully diagnose problem, spends time on phone googling suggestions on how I should fix. The next day I start looking at eBay links to get the board fixed because I want to save my plasma tv. Very first link I find on eBay from oleg_yj gives very detailed instructions on how to diagnose issues with a multimeter, which I have. It also tells which transistor to check to confirm an issue with the buffer boards. I check the transistor and it is shorted. I asked mike if he checked this and he had not. So now I have to remove the other boards myself since he did not seem too interested in coming back and doing it. No big deal. Fun fact, an issue with the buffer boards is almost a certain way to destroy an SC board. Had I not figured this out myself, I would have fried my freshly repaired SC board. Now the boards are repaired and I ask mike if he can come reinstall them. He said yes, but it's another $80 service charge. I'm still a little sore from the previous experience, but I do try to reason with him why I feel that's unfair. I've never dealt with a service company that charges each time they come out for the same issue. We bicker back and forth on the merits of this new charge and the lack of service received previously to which he offers $20 off. I decline. I feel more comfortable doing this myself at this point. I have better tools and have acquired sufficient skills from a small bit of googling, removing the other boards, and of course the eBay guy that actually repaired the boards. I would highly suggest doing the same before contacting him. read more

Mike diagnosed things over the phone. He came to the house and removed the motherboard on a Sony TV and I shipped it to a repair place. When it was fixed and ready for install, Mike come over and put everything back together. He did it ON A SATURDAY, for my convenience. TV works perfectly...total repair cost was ~$400. I highly recommend them. My Samsung 58'' plasma TV would not turn on anymore and was pretty upset. Next morning I called ARBAT TV (Mike). He ask me a few questions and told me few things that might be wrong. He gave me a few quotes and was in my apartment on the afternoon. He was very friendly and communicative which I appreciate a lot. Moreover, his service was efficient and fixed the problem immediately. So far, had no problems with my TV and it was definitely cheaper than buying a whole new one. One night during a heavy storm my power went down. As my electricity came back, I heard a loud "pop" from my television and smelled something burning. I immediately unplugged the TV, took it down from the wall, and looked up some troubleshooting online. When I realized I was in over my head, I searched for nearby TV repair technicians and began vetting them based on past customer reviews. Arbat won, so I gave them a call and hoped for the best. My call was answered immediately, and I described my situation. Mike came to my house two hours later (as promised), quickly diagnosed the problem, informed me of the replacement part I needed, and instructed me on how to install the part (VERY simply process; you literally plug in two flat cords). The fact that Mike's first suggestion was that I replace the part myself showed me that he cared about saving me money (why else would you call a TV repair technician, right?). He said that he could order the part for me, but also said that I could easily find better prices online and have it delivered within the same amount of time (which I did). My TV was just a couple of months out of warranty when it began to malfunction. I called the manufacturer who recommended a factory approved repair service but the Yelp reviews were almost universally bad. Fortunately, I found Mike. He is great. We spent time over the phone during my initial call to diagnose the issue. He than ordered the repair parts on good faith. When the parts came in, he came over to the house to further diagnose the issue and the TV was repaired. Not only that, he helped take the TV off the wall mount and than helped remount it after the repair. It is unusual to find someone committed to customer service these days. Okay, so I don't usually write reviews, in fact this is my first review EVER on yelp....but I just had to this time because everyone needs to know about Arbat TV and the exceptional service Mike provided when I needed it the most! My terrible Samsung LED television stopped working completely one fine day. I tried turning it on, no power, nothing. I called up a handful of tv service repairs guys and they just threw out a ridiculous price quote ion how much it would cost to come out and diagnose the issue. When I called up Mike, he didn't just toss a price quote at me...he walked me through some troubleshooting scenarios. It was only after ALL those were exhausted when he said it would be better to check the issue out himself. He was at my apartment in less than 30 mins. Amazing. Also, the cost to come and diagnose the issue was far FAR more reasonable than the other guys. More amazing. He diagnosed the issue I was having efficiently, carefully and was exceptionally FRIENDLY. He explained exactly what the issue was..shortage of the power supply board which needed replacing. Once replaced, my tv was back up and running and perfect. I had forgot at one point to replace the screws that held down the part on the tv (which I wasn't aware of until later) and I frantically called up Mike on a SUNDAY evening. He graciously and gladly walked me through what I need to do, even to the point of me texting him pictures of the TV part. That's when I realized I had forgotten to tighten the screws which helped secure the part. Bingo. Problem solved. TV works like a dream. I thank the TV Gods for sending Mike to help me out. His impeccable customer service, kind, friendly, honest nature was wonderful...even when I was freaking out. He took it all in strides and all with a smile. We have a Samsung 64 inch Smart TV, Model PN64F5500 that is only 1& 1/2 years old. The tv wouldn't turn on at all. Since the warranty expired a few months ago, Samsung wouldn't offer any assistance with labor or parts coverage. The Samsung technician couldn't even look at the tv for a full week. So we called Arbat TV who came out the same day! Mike was knowledgeable and very professional. He diagnosed the power supply board as the culprit. The part was impossible to get (which confirms to me Samsung has real issues). Mike called to let us know that he ordered the part from China. A week later the part arrived and Mike installed it, and set all the gadgets back up within 30 minutes. TV works great and we are extremely appreciative of Mike's work. We won't purchase another Samsung TV, but we will always call Arbat TV Repair in the future! read more
