When I got there, I was showed around the spa and toured the place. Every room was perfectly lit, had a peaceful ambience, and it was nice and clean. I was celebrating my birthday, and to my surprise, was greeted in my room with a birthday sign with a card and chocolates. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness made me feel so special. For the past two years, I have been caring for my mother who is now in a wheelchair and recently diagnosed with Parkinson's. I love when you call a company and a real person picks up the phone. I was able to schedule a same day appointment and had a great experience. Personally, I prefer the day spa experience that includes more than the slotted time and (paid for) service/s (for example value added with sauna, jacuzzi, etc allowing you to extend your time there but not your expenses). Here, you're going for a massage (or whatever service you paid for) and that's it. That said, the cost per service here is totally in line with most other spas in the area, none of which include those extra perks either. I do feel this was more of a medical massage which can be defined as 'value added'. So if you're looking for a good (medical) massage - this is your place. The facility is clean and comfortable with ample parking. I was taken back right at my appt time and my masseuse, Tammy, was great; killed and knowledgeable. I would recommend Arbor and will return. For those that think wearing a cloth face mask to stop a virus is like putting up a chain link fence to stop a mosquito invasion, don't worry, they won't MAKE you wear one. I am SO glad I found Tammy! My neck was tighter than it ever has been and I had other painful issues. I have to be careful to find the right therapist because they HAVE to do the right amount of pressure and warm my muscles up correctly. Tammy has excellent instincts in this regard! Warning: Long story ahead.... I went on a ski trip in Utah with my brother. After skiing for 6 days straight and experiencing an accident on my last day, my shoulders and neck were killing me. I was literally walking through the SLC airport sobbing while checking in TSA all the way to ordering my hot tea. I was a complete mess. The flight back home to LAX was almost 2 hrs long. My brother and I found an empty 3 seat row. I sat near the window, and he sat near the aisle. This lady comes in and sat between us. The first hour of the flight, I totally ignored my brother and the lady next to me. I couldn't carry a conversation because of the excruciating pain I was experiencing. My brother kept mentioning my name as he was talking to her, so I thought.."I'm being extremely rude. I'll talk to her and at least say, "HI" I apologized for being rude to her, and told her about the pain I was experiencing. She told me that she's a massage therapist and an esthetician and offered to massage me. I kindly said it's okay, but she kept on insisting. She reached into her bag full of essential oils, pulled out one and started massaging my shoulder and neck. She educated me on different kind of oils, what they're used for, allowed me to test a couple, etc. She focused on every knots that she found on my shoulders and used pressure to get rid of them. After the massage, my shoulder and neck felt AMAZING! It felt like I have never been through the ski accident AT ALL. This story is about Trisha, which I later found out is the owner of Arbor Vitae Life Spa. She is an amazing massage therapist! I would have never known about her and her abilities if I had never said "Hi". I am completely astonished by how passionate she is about her work. So passionate that she went out of her comfort by sitting awkwardly in a tight spot to help out a total stranger that she met on the plane (me).
