I'm brand new to the world of reformer Pilates (or any Pilates honestly). As an out of shape full-time working mom in her early 40s, I was extremely intimidated to try it, but had heard it was perfect for someone like me with injuries to be wary of. But I was so worried I would end up humiliated and discouraged amongst a room of extremely fit Pilates pros who scoffed at my audacity to try, and worried that the trainers/coaches would be annoyed with answering my questions and guiding me as a Pilates n00b. Thankfully, that has been nothing like what I've experienced so far since taking the plunge and signing up for the free intro class. Everyone is kind, the gym goers are diverse in age, fitness level, ethnicity, etc. It feels inclusive, and the vibe is very important to me. I'm so glad I decided to give Club Pilates Redlands a try! I've now attended two official classes in addition to my intro class, and I get excited to go each time. I love that there is variation in the way the trainers lead the classes, (keeps me from getting bored), and I love the PHYSICAL challenge it gives me (prepare to drip sweat lol). The trainers have been fantastic. And don't worry, the equipment is very clean and wiped down well by each attendee after each use. One caution, and one minor complaint. Caution- if you have a busy schedule, it may be challenging to find a class that not only works for your availability, but is at your level (e.g., level 1 or 1.5 for beginners), AND has spots available. There are only 12 spots per class. So far, it has been ok, but I see that I'm going to have to schedule them out as far as possible. My minor complaint is that I am Hard of Hearing and so far I have struggled to hear the instructors at each class. They walk back and forth between the 2 rows of reformers throughout the class, so when they turn away, I can't really hear them, and I miss instructions and tips on form. Thankfully I can usually glance over at my neighbors and see what they're doing. They also play music during the class, which I love, and it isn't super loud or anything, it just makes for additional challenge to hear them, even with my hearing aids in. Voice amplification would completely resolve this and would be beneficial to all class attendees. :) Overall I am highly recommending Club Pilates Redlands and will update this review if necessary. :) read more

Club Pilates Redlands is fantastic. The facility and reformer equipment is clean and well maintained. The classes are offered at different skill and difficulty levels. As a novice with no skill or experience, I find the level one classes challenging and rewarding! The best part of this location though is front desk staff and instructors! It was a substitute elderly retired teacher that taught today who seems already tired during the class. They should at least let the people know in the class if they are having a substitute teacher for the day. It is waste of time for people who is on credits and not unlimited class. I will not recommend this place. Too small and expensive for what they have to offer. They also send out links to write them 5 star reviews in exchange for 2 free classes. read more

I have just been going to club Pilates in Redlands for a few classes over the past 3 weeks. I really like and enjoy it. I have rather severe arthritis in 1 of my hips and need some modifications before I have surgery in a couple months. Instructor Sherry suggested that Center and Balance classes Pilates classes would be best for me at this time. I appreciate Club Pilates Redlands showing concern for safety. I am very new to Pilates and was nervous trying something different than my self-paced gym workouts. I have loved it! My biggest complaint is just how expensive Pilates is in general because it's such a fun workout. I have been with Instructors Laurie and Sherry. They're both amazing and sweet! I'm not sure if it's because the classes were Cardio and Reformer 1.5, but Sherry's classes definitely put me more through a tough but fun, effective workout! Great studio! I am newer to using the reformer and the instructors are great. They guide you through everything with easy to understand directions. The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful, and the studio is very clean. They do book up quickly but I was #5 on the waitlist for a recent class and still got in, so definitely join the waitlist and try. Otherwise, it's good to plan ahead and book a week or two out. I recently started my pilates journey and so far I really enjoy it here at Club Pilates (Redlands location) as a way to introduce me into doing pilates. The instructors and other people attending the class have been very helpful the times that I've gone. The environment is clean since we do a wipe down of the materials that we use after each class. I believe there are only 12 reformers at this location and the instructors are still able to assist me while I'm in the class. I am a student and also working so I appreciate that they also hold evening classes. The downside is that classes fill up quickly (at least the level 1 classes) so keep that in mind, and plan ahead. You could also join the waitlist for a class but so far I haven't had any luck getting those spots. I love this location, I'm new to the whole world of Pilates, what I like about this is that it is so inclusive the instructor's are so knowledgeable, and will come teach you a correct position of you are having trouble. This is a place for me. The stretches alone wow open up a whole new world of movement, me being of plus size it is also friendly and inclusive. As an out-of-town visitor with a Passport Membership, I tried to plan ahead by booking classes three weeks before my visit to stay consistent with my routine. Unfortunately, every class was waitlisted. While the front desk staff I spoke to were nice, they weren't very helpful or informative about alternatives, which was frustrating. I eventually got into a class, but the experience wasn't great. The front desk staff were talking loudly and giggling during the session, which was super distracting. Honestly, I couldn't figure out why two people were needed at the desk since the studio isn't very large. The class itself was what I expected in terms of instruction, but there was an odd tension in the air that could be cut with a unilateral leg lower & lift. I overheard regular clients discussing recent changes and high instructor turnover, which might explain the vibe feeling off. Whatever it was, I felt uncomfortable enough to skip returning and opted to use a local gym for the rest of my trip. The potential is there, but this studio definitely needs to tighten up its operations and energy to make members feel more welcome. read more

I would recommend trying out different instructors to see which ones match your skill level and pace. The instructors are professional and kind, and I appreciate that the other people in class are never judgmental and come from all walks of life.
