Very bad experience. Shipped package UPS damaged in transit. UPS threw my stuff away. Arbor Pack and Ship did not call me I had to call them. They said they would research and call me back. 3 days later I emailed them to start the claim. They denied claim could be submitted for improper packaging. Problem is there were items in the package non breakable that were discarded. While prices from the beginning started with poor service. I should have walked out and used another provider. read more

I have been going here for 13 years and sam is great. Never had a problem. Never a line. And yes, there is a fee for never having to wait in line, have sam help you tape up your box, etc. If I am busy it is worth paying that surcharge. If I'm not busy I wait in line at the post office. It never ceases to amaze me when I hear people either online or in the shop complaining that it is cheaper at the post office. Of course it is. It is a government run organization, the lines and wait times can be long. The fees are lower. Sam is running a private business. He is not the government. He needs to make money to stay in business. It's simple. Yet every time I go in there someone is complaining to sam that the post office is cheaper. And he patiently and gently explains this each and every time. Ive been going here for 15 years and won't ship anyplace else. I have used many of their services and most recently had them pack and ship a very fragile glass lamp to California. I love that their system stores the addresses I've shipped to in the past, makes it easy to send a quick care package to college or camp. Sam is friendly and professional and has taken the time to get to know my family over the years. Passport photos and renewals for myself and kids were a breeze as I was able to do it all there and skip the post office line. Happy to support this Ann Arbor small business! read more

I went to this store to ship an object Fed Ex and the owner was very rude and would not even provide a Fed Ex envelope which are always free from Fed Ex. I asked what I could use to ship my package and he would not help me. Also all of the shipping packages in the store are over priced. I then went to an official Fed Ex store and I had not problem shipping my item. I will never use use this store again for any of my shipping needs. read more

Arbor Pack N Mail has Excellent customer service - all of the staff are always friendly, dependable, and exceptional in all services they provide. I have had a mailbox at Arbor Pack N Mail for 10 years. The first year I used the service while I was finding my home - I kept the box all these years because of the amazing service and value. I look forward to coming in to get my mail. I am always greeted with a smile! My mail and packages have been held at times for extended periods - nothing has ever been lost or damaged - and it has been held and received with a professionalism and kindness that goes above and beyond any of their competitors! They even text me when I get a package. :)) I send out a lot of mail and packages - I have used almost all of the other options in Ann Arbor. When I relocated to the east side of Ann Arbor I was worried about finding a reliable "local" shipping location since, as an author, I'm always sending out books to reviewers and fans and plenty of other stuff as well. The staff here is friendly and efficient, helping me decide the most economical way to ship. When I needed notary service they were spot on with that as well. read more

If you're looking for USPS services, they do not carry flay rate boxes nor stamps for the regular price. Stamps are 69 cents a pop at Arbor Pak N' Mail. It is legal to sell postage for more than USPS, but I felt short changed. I asked for the best rate for my package and was quoted $15. I shipped the same items at the actual post office for $8.75 in a USPS box. While the man behind the counter was courteous and the location is convenient, I will probably only stop by to drop off Amazon returns. read more

Seriously, screw this place. I was charged $15 to ship two tiny packages (under 1 lb.) first class when it's $5 at USPS. Forget buying envelopes and supplies because they're also triple the price. Tracking is extra and gets emailed to you the next day, which is trash customer service if you're trying to run a business. Way too expensive and slow, never coming here again. read more

If I can give no star, I would. In the past three visits over 4 years, I have never had good experience at this place. Here is why: - The first time (about 4 years ago) I went there to ship a box overseas, it costed me over $48. I was shocked but did not give a fuss. Later on I realized that they had grossly overcharged me for something that is first class international mail. - The second time (about 1.5 years ago). I wanted to send a first class soft parcel to Canada. It weighted about 3 oz and at that time the PO charges under $3.50. The store worker quoted me priority mail (over $8) and refused to send it first class mail. I did not end up shipping through this place, of course. - The third time (today) I went there to drop off a parcel, buying a roll of tape, and also wanted to pick up a flat rate box (which is provided by USPS for free). There were no flat rate boxes or envelopes on display so I asked about it. The store worker said that they DO have flat rate boxes behind the counter but I have to bring my items to the store and make the package in the store to ship with flat rate box. In another word, the store wouldn't give out flat rate boxes/envelopes if you don't have the item to ship right there at that moment. I didn't have the item with me (it was big and I needed a medium flat rate box) so the store worker wouldn't give me the box to take home. That is really inconvenient. He also said that they will charge a premium on top of the regular USPS rate because they are providing a "service". I didn't ask how much the premium is because at that point I don't want to spend any money in this place. To me it shows that the the mentality of the store is petty and short-sighted: instead of building a good will and getting more business from the customers in the future by giving out a box which they get for free, they prefer the certainty of making the money right here right now. I feel that they neither care about nor trusting the people they are "serving". Third try is my maximum. You bet I would never step a foot in this business again. If you want to have a good customer service experience, have a little privacy as to what you are packing in your parcel, and don't want to be ripped off, avoid this place. read more

We have mailed well over two thousand pounds of goods, each and every object has arrived in pristine condition, and on time. Customer service includes careful research, communication, and clarification. The mall is easy to enter and exit, and pulling up to the door for loading and unloading is a breeze. I had soooooo bad experience there. the guy there was sooooooo rude!!! and they even lost my letters containing important social security information!!! I used it because it was close to my apt, but the guy just ignored me after i strengthed SEVERAL times that the letter was VERY important. I began using Arbor Pak N Mail several years ago because of its convenient location to my home. I stayed for the incredible service. Sam has stayed open late to accommodate my last-minute rush to send something out a package. I appreciate the fact that he stores the addresses I use in his computer so that he can instantly print up the label I need. He always looks for the most reliable method to send out packages. Recently, when FedEx screwed up expedited overnight shipping -- Sam was the one who contacted FedEx to sort out the problem and to get a reimbursement for me, despite the fact that Arbor Pak N Mail was in no way responsible for the error. When I googled gift wrapping services in the area, Arbor Pak n Mail was amongst the top results because they had gift wrapping listed as one of their services. I paid close to $40 for wrapping paper, a large box and the wrapping service for a two item wedding gift. Sam told me to be back in a couple hours to pick up the gift I needed wrapped. I was expecting a professionally wrapped gift but instead found pieces of wrapping paper taped together around the larger box that he placed the gift boxes in. I was so surprised at the quality of the wrapping that I didn't know what to say at first, but then walked back into the store and told him that it was unacceptable for a wedding gift. They get 3 stars because he did refund most of the money even while trying to justify the wrapping. I took the gift to Papyrus at the mall where I found wedding appropriate wrapping paper and the employee there did a very professional job that made the gift look beautiful all for the same price as Arbor Pak n Mail. it looks like they've since removed gift wrapping as a service they offer on the website at least, but it does make me question how well they can do some of the other services they claim on their site. read more
