I had a approx 20 pre-labled packages that I dropped off. Asked for a receipt. The UPS Store rep said I couldn't have one because it was too many. The next time I took pre-labled stuff to my favorite UPS Store (Brighton) and told the guy what the Plymouth Rd guy said. The Brighton UPS rep said, "Yeah, that's not a thing. WORST service delayed my refund by 3 weeks. They did not place the new shipping label over the original label--they used it to close the bag. So the package was returned to me. When I tried to have it returned, I had to call the vendor to issue a new return label and invoice. When I asked the UPS clerk if they could print these, he said it would cost me $6.40 to use their computer, print and retape the bag. It was due to THEIR mistake of using the return label to close the bag to cause this whole turn of events! Incompetent and unwilling to acknowledge that they caused me this problem. We have been shipping from this location for over 15 years. Have never had a problem. We have found most to be courteous, professional, and efficient. We all have off days, that's life. I have been using this store for years. But today they wanted to charge $4.50 to print a label. It used to be $1 but now you also have to pay $3.50 to "rent" the computer to print the label. I went down the street to Fed-Ex and printed it for $.67. And that's where I'll be taking my business from now on. read more

This store gave misinformation and overpriced service. I was more than ready to be tolerant, as I was shipping Dec 23. They told me truck pick up would be Dec 24 in the morning. And that I had to get 3 day pricing to get it there before Jan 10, charged me $57. "It should arrive Dec 28," important because a phone card was included. UPS ground 1 to 5 days should have been $22. Just a silent shrug when I asked the discrepancy in prices for delivery timeline (showed them UPS website form). When they handed me the paid receipt, it said Dec 28 pickup. Arrived Jan 5. $57 is too much for 1.4 pound package, the wrong service, shrugs when questions, and misinformation. read more

Have never had a problem with this outlet. I've dropped literally dozens of prepaid packages there and never failed to get a smile and a "thank you" from the staff. The people there have also been very helpful in determining the best shipping options for packages I'm sending on my own dime. Yesterday, for the first time since I've started going there, there was actually a substantial line, and one man had a package to send overseas and had difficulty understanding the shipping procedures. The staff had to patiently tend to him (and they never lost their patience), besides responding to requests from other customers. I had to make a few copies before sending a fax, and one of the men at the counter still greeted me when I came in and asked me if I had any questions about the copier, despite being slammed at the counter. When I got in line to send my fax, I was acknowledged and assured I'd be taken care of quickly, and in about two minutes I was. An impressive performance, considering I've seen clerks appear overwhelmed when they had two people in line. This is the closest shipping/fax outlet to my house, and I'm glad to have it. read more

I usually go to a UPS store closer to me but it was closed. I went to this store after work and initially was the only customer there. The man that was working was so rude and unhelpful. He was throwing the boxes. I asked if one of the packages scanned correctly for an Amazon return and he stated that he doesn't match the item in the box to the return item because he doesn't police Amazon items. I had 3 things for Amazon, as of the next day one of the items still isn't showing that he scanned it and shipped it. I then had 4 items to return to Zappos, all in their own boxes, this is how they were delivered to me, he was very upset that I had not taped the boxes closed. I apologized and tried to explain that this was my first time returning to Zappos. So he scanned the first item, closed it up and threw the box on the pile. He then scanned my next code, put the sticker on the box and walked away to help someone else. After he was finished I asked him if he was printing labels for the other 2 boxes. He told me that I should have put them all in one box. He proceeded to measure the 3 outer boxes, not the shoe boxes, to put them all in one huge box. He told me it would be $17+ I took my 3 boxes and left. I will NEVER go to this store again. I'll drive way out of my way if my local store is closed. This man was so angry,mean and rude. read more

I've been in here many times, as this is the closest UPS store to my office. The guys here clearly hate the fact that their store is used for dropping of pre-paid online return packages, particularly Amazon. They refuse to tape up a box if the postage is prepaid, so either tape your boxes ahead of time or prepare to buy a roll of tape on site, which they have of course marked up astronomically. Also, be aware that they don't have the free UPS mailer envelopes available on site. I overnighted documents to one of my company's attorneys, which was $66, and they made me buy a $2 plain brown mailing envelope. Where are the ones that are normally included in the exorbitant shipping prices that are available at all of the other stores?? Bottom line - avoid if you don't have your own tape for your box and it's a prepaid package or if you are looking for one of the free envelopes that should be included in your shipping fee price. read more

I visited this UPS store location to get something notarized, and had a quick, painless visit. I scheduled an appointment online for Saturday at 12:30pm, and the process was simple. I arrived ten minutes prior, and had no problem parking due to the private lot. The store itself is pretty small, and was empty when I entered. In fact, there was initially nobody behind the counter, but an employee popped out when he heard the doorbell. The notary process took under five minutes, and cost me $10 flat. To be honest, I'm unfamiliar with typical prices for notary services, but feel that $10 per signature seems high. I received a receipt afterward, and the employee waved a friendly goodbye. The owner, Tobin Darnell, was a nightmare to me as a customer. I brought in a Comcast box to be returned- in a shipping box with the prepaid label- and he refused to take it without the box sealed. He went so far as to bring the heavy box to my side of the counter and left it on the floor next to me while I filled out other slips, saying nothing about how to remedy the situation. I had another parcel with me that he insisted should be placed into his packing for $40 in addition to the $5 charge for tape. The box I had ready was a heavy duty package and nothing was wrong it. He refused to do anything but continually give me additional fees, ignored my questions and even went into the back during our transaction. He also told me that if his business would go under if he helped everyone with packing tape on the top of their box. They do not like pre-paid packages! They refuse to provide any type of receipt when leaving a pre-paid UPS package (something other UPS Stores will do if you ask). Without any acknowledgement that they have your package, you may as well leave it with any stranger on a street corner and say "Hey man, will you give this to UPS for me?" Like other reviewers mentioned, this UPS store will flat-out refuse to give you receipts for prepaid stuff like Amazon returns. It's the only UPS Store I know that does this. Because of this, I always drive across town to the one on S Main. I asked an employee at the S Main location why this one won't give receipts and his first response was simply because they're "idiots." He went on to explain that the paper the receipts are printed on are given free to the stores, so it's not due to incurring extra costs. He also mentioned that they might believe the receipts somehow make them more liable for the packages, which he also said isn't true at all. The best explanation is that they probably just don't want to. So if this store treats prepaid packages this way, I wouldn't trust them to handle any of my shipping needs. read more

I had a prepaid label and typically at other UPS locations, I drop the package off, they tell me I'm all set and I'm on my merry way. The people at this store are morons. I chose to have a package held at this location so I could pick it up. The day it was supposed to be delivered, it wasn't and there was strange information in the tracking info ("location not available", whatever that means) - so I went to this store to ask them for help in locating the package, and they were like "duh I dunno, I don't know how UPS tracking works, duh, I can only track packages that are sent from this location...", etc. Completely unhelpful, know-nothings. Another thing, I drop off packages for UPS to take that are pre-labeled and ready to go frequently (like Amazon returns, and such). They don't have to do anything with them, other than carry them to the back door of the store and put them in a pile. So one time I went in to drop one off, there were a couple people in line needing full service help, so I asked if I could just leave the box on the counter since it was all set - the guy got visibly annoyed, and finally was like "Uh, I don't care - sure." Not nice about it at all. I will not go here again. I will just choose to have UPS pick up at my house from now on, I'll pay the couple of bucks if necessary to avoid this place. read more

I wish there was an option for zero stars. Let me just summarize by saying use Fedex or some other mailing company. I shipped a bunch of packages through UPS and a couple arrived all jacked up (like I mean "metal on my rice-cooker completely dented" kinda jacked up). When I called UPS they said I didnt pack my package properly, even though I used tons of bubble wrap, newspaper and a sturdy box. I told them how my husband saw the UPS delivery guy pretty much smashing the packages on the ground (my husband didnt realize it was ours til the delivery guy left). Long story short, UPS told me its a franchise and only the UPS store on plymouth road could file a claim on my behalf. I called the plymouth road store numerous times but they pretty much said, if they didnt pack it, they are not liable. If I pay you tons of money to ship my package, who is liable? The owner(so I'm told), treated my daughter like dirt when she visited the store in an attempt to pick up a re-routed package. He told her that they had nothing to do with UPS, and he couldn't help her. He was rude and just dismissed her when she inquired about the reason for that, when there is an obvious, visual connection between the UPS Store and UPS. Feeling frustrated, she called me and I asked to speak to him. He dismissed me too. He held the phone away from his ear, as if he didn't want it to touch him. Before I finished my question to him, he handed the phone back to my daughter and walked away. As she was leaving the store, she overheard statements that were demeaning and discriminatory(not racist). I spoke to Malcolm the day before, to be sure that the package could be picked up there. He was considerate and helpful. I spoke to Charlie today, and he was considerate as well. Shame on the owner of this location and shame on UPS for allowing this rude individual to further scar and already compromised reputation. This is the last and final time I will ever use this store. The guy working the counter (goatee, brown hair) is always very curt and unplesant to deal with. I came in today with a prepaid label for a UPS overnight return envelope. I normally deal with Fed Ex, so I was not familiar with the directions and whether or not to sign the form. I asked the guy working the store if he knew whether or not I should sign it or what specifically needed to be checked. He stated, "I don't know, most of our customers come in with preprinted labels or these filled out." What the *uc! You are telling me that as the store clerk, you don't know how to properly fill out your own forms??? Then I was trying to ask another question and he walked away to the back room. I swear, the owner of this store (assuming it is not him) must be a complete idiot to keep this guy at the helm. I have a business just around the corner and would love to switch all of our mailing to the UPS store, but not with service like this. This is the 3rd time I have gotten bad service from this place. The last time was with a prepaid label (sounds like this store hates these already) and needed to get a padded envelope to mail it back in. I picked one out and went to the counter and handed the clerk (same goatee guy) my credit card. He stated they don't accept credit or debit cards for less than $5 dollars. Again, what kind of business are they running!!! Even McDonalds takes a credit card/debit card for any kind of purchase.
