One day, I noticed a Brooks Painting sign go up across the street. They did a beautiful job in that house so I gave them a call and a day later Jon was over to assess our house and give us a quote and a few weeks later they were over scraping the peeling paint job from problem spots and painting our house navy with white trim I had been dreaming about since we moved in. For a pop of color we had them add coral doors, too. When I first saw it finished I had tears in my eyes. I loved it so so much. The next summer we decided to restain our deck so I reached back out to Jon and they came and power washed and restained our deck beautifully. We also needed a few boards replaced and they did that part, too. Both jobs were big so it wasn't cheap (we have a very large deck) but the price on both jobs was VERY reasonable given the amount of work and the quality of the job they provided. Communication was constant and we had a lovely relationship develop with them. I would 100% hire them again for future work and recommend them highly to anyone who needs painting or deck staining at their home.

Rod was our project manager, and I've included images below to showcase the quality of his work. According to Joey, Rod is "the best they have," but the pictures tell a different story. The work was sloppy, careless, and far from what we were promised. When we reached out to Joey to address the poor quality of the work, we were gaslighted into believing this was what we had paid for. We were told we didn't read our contract properly, that it didn't include sanding the walls, and even threatened with collections. To top it off, Joey casually dismissed our concerns with the comment, "even a pickle can set a pregnant lady off." However, when Nick evaluated the work in person, he confirmed that the quality was poor and agreed that everything needed to be redone. We paid nearly $5,000 for this experience. According to Tribble, they "made it right" by returning to redo the work--but that required as much time as the original project. We had arranged for the work to be done while we were out of town for convenience, but we were still displaced for two extra days, turning a two-day project into a four-day ordeal. As a result, we overpaid for subpar work, are now a month and a half behind schedule, and have endured unnecessary stress and disrespect, all for something as simple as having our walls painted. I'm at a loss as to how they could possibly think they "made it right." The final result is decent, though there are areas with uneven texture where they had to fix previous mistakes. We were told this was the best they could do. Will was the only one to offer a genuine apology and made a kind effort to address the issues, but that doesn't undo the frustration we've experienced. This has been the most expensive headache I've ever created for myself. What was meant to simplify our lives during pregnancy has instead caused a level of stress I can't fully describe. I'm left questioning the validity of all the positive reviews--our experience was the complete opposite. We will be using a different company for our futures projects. If it goes well I will update my post with recommendations.

I found a countertop and asked questions about veining because the countertops that I picked out had veins. First off the guy came to measure the countertops and they were cut two short and they gave us a hard time about that and then to tell me that I could have my contractor fill in the holes. Second I decided to use the countertops as back splashes and again asked the question about the veins matching. They told me they would match. Not the case at all. When they came to install for a second time the veins do not match the backsplashes after I was told they would. They claimed they never said this which is not true and told me that I had buyers remorse. For a $10,000 job they are doing sloppy work and do not care about the customers. I had asked about a discount because now I have to live with ugly countertops that do not match and will only receive a 5% discount which is nothing. The owner does not care about his customers and only cares about his money. Buyers beware of this place. Also when you walk into the shop the staff look miserable as they never have smiles on their faces, it's like they can't be bothered to get up to help you. Buyers beware of this place.

After painting the two smallest rooms in our house, we realized we were in over our heads. We were grateful for Chelsea Paint and Carpentry to come and give us a quote. Initially, we thought they would do some work and we would do some to save money, but the quality of work was so beautiful, we decided to have Chelsea Paint and Carpentry do all the work. We were impressed with the attention to detail and above and beyond service. First, they found a leak in our wall (boo on that) but they took every step to ensure we were aware of the problem and helped us find the solution. Not only that, but when we cut away the wall, Chelsea Paint and Carpentry fixed that too, and now you cannot tell that we had a repair at all...it's good as new! We were grateful they offer carpentry skills as well, for we had a few little "fixes" that needed to be done, such as trimming out the electrical box, and they did it with ease, and perfection. Additionally, they did a bunch of little things to improve our lives, like added door stoppers so we don't immediately damage their work. We didn't ask for this "extras" but their pride in their work is evident and left us with an elevated experience. The staff was polite, clean, and kept their schedule. They were considerate when setting up their schedule to work around ours as best as they could, for example, they painted my office when I was out of town, though it would have been more efficient to do it when they painted that floor of the house. We did not have to hound them to complete anything. I have never had such dependable service and I was grateful for it. To be fully transparent, we were surprised at the cost, but it was carefully explained so we knew going into it what the cost would be and the factors that went into the pricing, such as our paint color requiring two coats. Having tried to complete the work ourselves and calculating the time it would take us, we knew it was worth it. We are very pleased with our experience, highly recommend them, and we will use them again.
