Since I'd never done this before I was hesitant to trust my little friend to strangers. My pup passed her meet-and-greet with flying colors, and it eased a good measure of my discomfort. After having boarded her several times now, were BOTH happy with their staff and services. I never worry about her while she's there, and I often forget to even check in on her (except when my grandkids ask if we can see her!). Now when I pack her things, she knows where she's going, and it's not uncommon for her to be too excited to eat or drink, and even if I'm not ready to leave she'll get in the car and won't get out. We're both happy we found Four Paws Hotel and Day Resort! (I referred my sister to them, and now her dog is a regular when she leaves town as well.)

I have attempted to discuss what happened with them, only to be told that the owner is out of town and will contact me on August 27. Therefore, given the urgency of getting dogs tested for whatever was spreading around that place, if you boarded at The Lodge for Pampered Pets recently, they were closed for cleaning from August 14-20th due to an outbreak of what they believe to be canine cough, but may be something else. This information was sent out via email on July 29 for some clients, but not to us. In fact, they sent us an email confirming our reservation from August 3-8 that made no reference to an outbreak at the facility, just in the "area", and made no mention of the closure in less than a week after our dogs were there. We received information about the closure on the 12th along with a statement from a vet stating that it isn't a serious disease. The point is that they knew there was an outbreak before July 29, made the decision that it was serious and they needed to shut down and clean, and yet didn't close their facility until august 14th. Additionally, they didn't mention the closure or reasoning to people boarding in the weeks following the decision to close and the closure.

I appreciate the pics on the Facebook page, seeing her playing with her pals is comforting. They are very, very good at putting "like" personalities together for a cohesive group. At other places we've tried dogs were grouped by size without regard to temperament. My girl is midsized but mellow. When she isn't as mellow she is transferred to the more energetic group. I love the drop in play care as sometimes plans change last minute. They're always great about offering exit baths which is great as well. Would highly recommend.

The only thing I didn't like was their policy regarding bathroom time. The expectation was that dogs just go inside the building. There were no outdoor bathroom breaks in the winter. The employee explained they only take the dogs out in the warmer months. I saw an employee walking around with a mop keeping things cleaned up so the place was not unclean. My concern, and perhaps unfounded, was my dog would get confused and start having accidents at home. It just seemed a strange policy to me.

After or first boarding experience, we knew we had found the BEST place for our babies...even added a 3rd baby along the way. This is a review for dog walking, doggy daycare, and dog boarding…read more I found Peaceable Pets after a very thorough vetting (I am convinced I should have been cast in the movie Best in Show--yes, that is how much of a crazy dog lady I consider myself). Time and again, people on the Ann Arbor Dog Owners Facebook group mentioned Peaceable Pets. I read all the reviews, stalked Peaceable Pet's Facebook page (where Robin posts videos of her guests and informative articles about all things animals), scrutinized the information on her website, did a meet and greet with Marcy, our dog walker, a play date at the Dellwood Doggy Ranch (required for doggy daycare and boarders). I give it 10/10 stars. Peaceable Pets is an Ann Arbor treasure. You will not find someone more knowledgeable about dogs than Robin. Some reasons I love what Robin offers: 1. She understands my dog's unique personality, quirks, and needs. 2. She prioritizes the safety, well-being, and quality of life for my dog. 3. The pick-up and drop-off times worked well with my schedule, which was variable for a while, and then predictable for another while. 4. I trust her 100%. 5. Every time I bring Hagrid to her, he bounds toward her and doesn't even look back to say goodbye. Every dog parent knows that is a good sign. 6. Hagrid is calm and content when he returns from daycare. ...I could go on and on. As for dog walking, Marcy was wonderful and reliable. A few times I bumped into Marcy while I was walking Hagrid and saw his entire body language and vocalization over his joy of seeing Marcy. There is no stronger endorsement than that, in my opinion. To top it all off, Robin and Marcy have really interesting personalities, back stories, and talents when they are not caring for our beloved animals. Marcy speaks French. Robin sings in a band. They are the absolute best.

I like that they require proof of immunizations & a negative stool test (a test that is performed yearly as part of routine health exam by your Vet) before your pet can be boarded (this policy decreases the likelihood that your pet will contract an illness while there)! You can request daily play time/walk for your pet for a small additional fee. A bath is included in the boarding fee if your pet is there for a minimum number of days (I forget the number-I think it's 5 days-check the website to be sure). An added plus, the new owner is a Vet Tech. I would not board my pet any where else!

We received daily reports on how the pups were doing; photos, e-cards, videos and text messages. We could not have asked for a more professional, caring or thorough person to look after our dogs. I'm fairly certain the pups are still looking for Jackie at her scheduled arrival times (even though we've been home for a little more than a day now). If you need a sitter, I can't recommend Jackie highly enough!
