Because of the tall trees, you get plenty of shade while walking through the woods. I take my young children who can effortlessly conquer 3 miles of the trail without hesitation. It's an awesome nature experience hearing the birds chirp & insects buzz, seeing the small schools of fish being carried down the stream, the crawling creatures perfectly positioned for nature enthusiasts capturing photos. The park entry also allows you to use the open grass areas to picnic or grab a grill. The water is practically a beach area as I've seen multiple families lined up on both sides of the bridge enjoying the cool water. As well as my children and I. There's plenty of parking. The bridge is a highlight boasting wonderful opportunities for pictures with beautiful natural lighting. There's also some train tracks on the other side of the bridge perfect for photo ops but BEWARE! it is a functional and operating train track! My family and I can't get enough of this park. It's a little distracting to play tennis there during peak times- there's a lot of activity between the planes, the highway, people smoking pot in the picnic areas, and once there were even kids on ATVs riding around loudly. Sometimes people blast music in the parking lot for absolutely no reason. For awhile there was a creepy old guy who lived in his truck in the parking lot and would make me super uncomfortable being there if alone, but he wasn't there the last two times I've been- maybe he has moved on. But overall, it is great that there is a place in the community for activities such as tennis and skating, and it seems to be well-maintained.

There were a few little league baseball practices going on as well. The parking is another story. If you do not get there at a decent time, you could end up parking along the side of the playing fields or in the grass outside of the park. Thankfully, we were able to get a parking spot. If you live in the area, it's a nice park to visit. Just be aware that after work hours during the week, parking could be an issue. On top of that, the park could get really crowded.

There is a half mile looped walking trail that is completely shaded through the woods and the playground is also pretty cool because the forest around it provides shade. There are two pavilions with bathrooms, water fountains, grills, and plenty of parking and the playground is pretty great and geared towards older kids, but my not quite two year old also had a great time. We will definitely return!

But get out of the car, walk over the ridge, and behold! Picnic tables, a few in-ground charcoal grills, a tennis court, and park benches strategically placed along the path. The picnic tables are shaded nicely by the trees, but if you need to move one around a bit for some reason, you can because they are not chained down. There are also trash cans so you don't have to carry it out. A coworker told me the path goes around the border of the park but I haven't walked it yet. Soon though. There is also a small stage there and apparently they have live musical performances some times on the weekends. I'll be watching for those as well. Great place to take lunch to and eat outside away from the office!

Well the park itself is pretty big with plenty of open space for pretty much anything you could dream of doing. The playground area though it wasn't the biggest, it wasn't crowded and the equipment was in good shape. There is a huge water tower behind the park that provided a good deal of shade at the time I was at this park, which had 2 benches near the playground,and yes my daughter had a great time. When i went they were actually having a music in the park event. However i'm not much for country music, and it didn't really look like there was anyone there that may have been interested in some good old J.Cole, K Dot, or Yeezus. I wasn't trying Wang Chung that night... So i left that part to the natives. Overall this is a very nice park, and i'll definitely be coming back.

Just sat back and enjoyed my kids birthday party. Not to mention this place is perfect for the 5-8 year old birthday party age range. All the kids had a complete blast, there's no escape for the kids and the whole place is padded, so when you lose track of your kid, it's a no sweat situation. The park is a multi-purpose park as it has a few fields along with the BWI Trail. Parking was easy to find as well once I realized the trail parking is on the other side of the ball field parking. Once parked, I hit the BWI Trail and fell in love. As the trail itself is a little over 11 miles, I did 2 miles and turned around and headed back. The trail is spacious and easy to follow. The signs are clear and the variation of the trail varies from easy to moderate. As I walked along the trail I was captured by the sights of the airport, the horses, and the natural landscape of the greenery. As my walk came to an end, I not only felt good but I was also excited at the experience. If you're in the area and wanting a great trail to walk, run, or bike, check out Andover Park.

In general, cyclists are kind and let you know that they are passing. It's nice that you will see the occasional bench there if you just to sit and enjoy some rays or take a break. There is plenty of free parking at the entrance up by the ballfields or down a ways by the horses. I'm probably doing a disservice by only mentioning the walking trails because that's basically what I will be using. But from what I have seen the ballfields look well-kept and appear to be a fine venue In the county for recreational sports.
