Pictures, brochures and videos are all helpful but they put the best angles and views to sell the apartment. Too often I have wanted to run to get an apartment from the photos but when I got there it was a different story: Poorly maintained lawns, broken screens, very poor curb appeal. I'm no longer taken in by internet or photos, I go to the reviews first. So this is my review of Carrington Lane. What you see is what you get and more. The curb appeal is pleasing to the eye, the maintenance crew do a magnificent job and respond quickly to any need, the buildings are all in tip top shape and very recently renovated, the huge oak trees give you a feeling of being up north and yet the palm trees remind you that this is beautiful Florida. Whatever you need is rarely more than an 8 minute drive to such places as the mall, theaters, Home Depot, all sorts of restaurants and shopping. Should you need any medical care there are Urgent Care Facilities, a hospital and yes for Veterans a nearby large clinic. The downtown area is special to walk through, view the old but never abandoned building and store fronts, the park and so much more. You will never be bored. If you enjoy horses, tour the many horse ranches and mansions on a scenic drive. There is plenty to do in Ocala. I left the best to last. You can have nice buildings and grounds, pretty trees and amenities but if you don't feel it's home, it's not anything. Here is where Caitlin, Rebecca and Lindsay come in. They are the three women who make Carrington Lane not merely a house to live in but a home to enjoy, have fun and be proud to say: I live at Carrington. A lot of apartments offer something special at Christmas, Easter and other major holidays. Carrington Lane does that too but so much more. They are like thinking 24/7, how can we make our residents involved, happy and yet not be intrusive. They do it. There are so many things to do if you wish, or if you simply want to remain closer to home and your lovely screened in patio, that's fine too. You do what you want to do. However, no one can say the staff is uncaring or not helpful, they go far beyond the call to assist you and always with a smile. This is a long review, but before closing why not go to Face Book and check out the 200 plus photos of the many activities Lindsay, Rebecca and Caitlin put on for your enjoyment from Coffee Day, Free Lunch Day, Dress up and Dress down day, Blood Drive Day, Pizza Day, Donut Day, Brewery Day, Fashion Day and so much more. For the past TWO MONTHS, I have consistently attempted to lease a unit. Every single interaction was with Rodney. I left multiple voicemails. No return calls. I was promised follow-up emails after confirming my email address several times. Nothing was ever sent. Most recently, I scheduled a tour and was completely ignored upon arrival -- no communication, no explanation, no professionalism. This is not a coincidence or oversight. There has been a pattern of being dismissed and denied access. Response to the pitiful reply below:: No surprise that you're shifting blame. If you review your camera footage, you will note that there was already someone present in the leasing office at the time I arrived. From my understanding as a prospective resident with a scheduled appointment, it would be reasonable to expect that staff would either acknowledge my arrival or provide direction if additional steps (such as formal check-in) were required. At no point was I approached or instructed to check in, despite being present during my scheduled time. Given the visible camera coverage throughout the facility, I was simply ignored. I arrived on time but are not greeted. The guest card was created only after I called a second time to follow up because I had not received a confirmation email. I have timestamped call logs reflecting my prior communication with your office. Lastly, I'm no longer interested in pursuing or securing housing with this overtly racist property. But, I assure you, this will not be the last of it.

The two girls and two guys in the office are always so nice and willing. I get that feel good feeling places like Chick-Fil-A or a Hilton can only make me feel. Wait till you see the bedroom closets. They are so huge, they should be another bedroom. Mostly anyone I've meet while walking my dog, or bumped into in the clubhouse have all been so nice. I love this community!

We lived here for several years. In the beginning, we did not have any problems and the front…read moreoffice was competent. However, throughout the years, the service and maintenance declined. The front office staff is the nastiest, most miserable group of people that I ever came across. The one who is in charge likes to hide while she shoves her lackeys up front to do the work for her. They always acted as if they were doing you a favor if you came in with a maintenance issue or if you had a question. Their office hours were a joke -- towards the end of our residency, they were not open on Fridays or the weekend. They had a habit of locking the doors when they were supposed to be open. Several times, I got there at opening time and had to stand outside until they got around to unlocking their doors (past opening time). They accused us of damages we did not incur and could not prove we did. Maintenance was very good in the beginning, but after awhile, it was a joke. At the time we left, we had been trying to get them to fix a flapper valve in the toilet and we could not get them to come do it. Parking was always an issue. We had a paid spot as well as a driveway -- several times we would come home to find someone either in our driveway or paid spot or both. There was no one to get in touch with (particularly after hours or even when the office was open) so we sometimes had to wait 24 hours or more to gain access to the parking spots we paid for. The lease was always late -- we should have had 60-90 days lead time on renewals so we would know what the new rates would be. The last lease we received came after we were supposed to have signed. This place will nickel and dime you on charges. It's a pity, because the condo units are very nice inside -- granite counter tops, etc.
