This is a great place to stop in and experience something most people don't get to experience. I have been fortunate to live around this area and know they are always of quality. Most people buy the fruit pies for the first time they eat fried pies. The fruit pies are good, but, in my opinion, the most delicious ones are the heartier ones; the broccoli and cheese is my favorite! People don't know what to expect when they get there and some are disappointed by the cold pies in the cases. If you ask them to make a fresh one, they will. HOLY CRAP, this place makes good little pies. If you like pie AT ALL, you need to stop here. I ordered a peach pie around brunch time. I was worried it would be greasy and heavy due to the fried nature of the snack. I am happy to report that it wasn't that greasy or heavy! It was so delicious, so un-greasy and and un-heavy, that I wolfed my first pie in about 1 minute. After that, I proceeded to order a cherry pie. OMG! I went inside to order our pies didn't have to wait to long but it seemed like the flood gates opened everyone came in. My wife decided to sit in the car called and asked me if this was normal so I asked the lady at the register who was very nice said this isn't nothing you should see it in the summer. With all that we ate one on the way out of town the PB Chocolate pie is to die for my wife said it was warm and taste Ted like a melted Reese's peanut-butter cup melting in her mouth . I wished I had gotten more to share but let's not lie more for me to eat myself. Can't wait to try the lemon thanks for such a great pie. Why is there a dinosaur and chicken on top of the place? Pies are poorly done, mine fell apart at first bite but it was decent enough to finish. Poorly decorated, and the whole atmosphere was just weird. It's nice for the area though, and if you're looking for something quick and sweet to eat, this is the place for you. I'm just glad I didn't pay more than what I did for my pie. Note: don't just shove the pie in your mouth, I almost choked on the crust. Overall an okay pie shop. read more

Stopped by on Friday, Sept. 21st, to pick up pies for my parents. They love them. I'm in advertising...for restaurants, so I typically take reviews with a "grain of salt" because I understand the business; and rarely post a review. However, my experience on Friday warrants a quick note. Walking into the Arbuckle Fried Pie store was 5 minutes of my life that I will never get back. The woman that waited on me clearly is not happy with her life choices. Or, she thought she knew me from another life and hated me. That's how I felt. Rude and Angry are the two words that come to mind. I made the mistake of asking a question and when she responded with " THAT flavor is MADE to order", I shut down. WHY I forked over $18 for six FRIED pies is still something I wonder. So, if your traveling I-35 near Davis, Ok, and see the big red sign, FRIED PIES, keep in mind that Ardmore has a store and so does OKC (at 50th and Portland.) Both have employees that won't scare you or quite frankly, piss you off. Save your money. Service truly is important and YOU deserve it. read more

I have stopped at the pie shop 4 to 5 times between Dallas and OKC and the pies are simply delicious. I make fried pies and these are every bit as good as mine. I am especially fond of the apricot pies, but everyone in my party loved every kind they tried. One of our group got the chicken-cheese-broccoli pie and said it was delicious. They will even cook a fresh one for you and have it ready when you get there if you call ahead. Great service and friendly people. I hope to stop there many times in the future. On my many trips between North Texas and Oklahoma City, I have stopped at Arbuckle Fried Pies. Every visit I have made has been a great experience, the pies have been warm, fresh and delicious and the staff has always been courteous. I always make it a point to stop in. Yesterday my experience was very unpleasant. My pie was stone cold. When I asked for a hot one, I was told they couldn't take it back and that I had to ask for it to be hot. I asked for a manager and that experience wasn't much better. She told me their pies were guaranteed fresh, not hot. She said they had made 1000 pies already that morning. When I told her I had been there many times and would not be back because that was not a good way to run a business, her reply was "That's okay, most other people will be back." She is right about that because your pies are usually warm and delicious. So sad that no one there was smiling or courteous and actually quite rude. By the way, the manager did finally relent and gave me a warm fried pie. I'm pretty sure there are no signs anywhere that say you have to ask for your pie to be hot. Excellent fried pies. Of the large variety. When I picked mine up this afternoon, all were warm. The chocolate pudding had great chocolate flavor, and the peach filling was like a burst of summer. The apple seemed like standard canned apple pie filling -- but WHO CARES, because this was a FRICKIN' FRIED FRICKIN' PIE, which I totally cannot get where I live. Really, these are some of the best ever -- a wide variety of fillings and a glorious crust that is tender, flaky and not-at-all greasy. I wish I could have tried more -- they had several cream pies (vanilla, coconut and lemon, at least, as well as the great chocolate I had), cherry, blackberry, pineapple, and some other fruit pies. read more

On our way north to Oklahoma City on Interstate 35 as we neared Turner Falls, we'd noticed a sign advertising "Fried Pies". We didn't have the time to stop, but on our way back home to Plano, TX we would. We did and are we ever glad! What a great place! It's on the west side of the Interstate right at the entry to Turner Falls, Oklahoma. You can't miss the "red brontosaurus" on the flat roof that protects the two lone gas pumps in front of the spacious fried pie place. The generous sized hand held fried pie's are to the right as you walk in. They are fresh ready for you to order and eat. All the fillings are fresh made and folded in "Nancy's" famous fried pie crust. To the left is the dining area that looks like it could house a "church" with its tall ceiling and "Cross" on the wall. The restrooms are to the left of the dining room. The fruit hand held fried pies are: apricot, apple, peach, cherry, pineapple, and blackberry. The sugar-free ones are: apricot, apple, peach, cherry, pineapple, and blackberry. The cream ones are: coconut, chocolate, lemon and vanilla. They have a pecan fried pie. All the pies are fresh made right there behind the counter staffed by friendly ladies. You can purchase frozen ones, too that are a bit cheaper. They also serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner! They're open from 7AM to 7PM, seven days a week. If you've never been to Turner Falls, this was our first time ever, and you've got a few more minutes to spare, take the road into the park as it'll eventually wind around back out on to the Interstate. You'll be glad you did! It is gorgeous! The views from the Arbuckle Mountains are breathtaking. read more

Looked them up on Yelp and tried their website to confirm they were open. Website seems to be down, but we were in the area and stopped anyway. They were open and hoppin. They have breakfast pies, meat pies, veggie pies, fruit pies, cream pies. I had chocolate and hubby had apricot. Large and yummy, but dont expect them warm as they are made up ahead. They have seating inside and on patio but it's primitive. Bottled sodas and water, coffee. I mentioned to the cashier that website was down and she didn't care. Guess they have enough business. We found this on a whim on our way to Turner Falls. It's right off 35. The facility has some indoor and outdoor seating. It could use a really good scrub down. We had a sweet friendly girl take our order. You can see the staff making the pies behind the counter which is pretty cool. They should consider wearing more of a uniform or more specific dress code. One girl looked like she rolled out of Walmart wearing sweat pants and a t-shirt...weird. The pies were really great! We got the chocolate, coconut, and cherry filled pies! They are generous with that filling! The crust was flakey, moist, and wonderful. I found the pie to be perfect. Not too sweet, perfectly warm, and reasonably priced. My family and I were in Hillsboro Texas and stop to get gas. I notice the pie shop so we went in. Everyone was so nice and the manager was just wonderful she was so helpful. The place was so clean.
