I'm not sure what was going on the day I tried to make an order, but based on Yelp and Google's information, the restaurant was supposed to be open on the Saturday. I called their number, someone answered without indicating their business name and then didn't acknowledge me at all so I ended up hanging up. I tried another number which was disconnected, so possibly an old number. I tried calling again after 5 and 10 minutes and each time it would ring and ring and then go to a "you have reached a text mobile number" message. Okay, so maybe they were just busy and couldn't answer their phone? So I asked a friend of mine who was on her way to see me if she would mind doing by to place an order for me. And I gave her the address, from Google maps. She called me when she was at the address and told me there was nothing there. I even tried texting, since the message said it was a text number. I said I was wanting to place an order for pickup and there was no reply, not even to tell me any information like "wrong number", "were actually closed". Is the business closed? Are the hours, phone number, and/or address inaccurate? Is this a food truck? If so, there is nothing on Google or Yelp or their website indicating any of this information, at least not as of Saturday the 29th. I was really bummed out as I was looking forward to trying the food here. It seems to be a cool and delicious restaurant and I think it's important to support small local restaurants, so I try to whenever I can. I was here visiting family for the weekend and I hope whatever is going on is clarified online so this doesn't happen to other willing customers. I am going I can try again when I'm back in town in a couple months.

There are places you plan to visit, and then there are places you stumble into--the kind that feel…read morelike they've been sitting there for years, quietly daring you to notice them. Little Russia Chili Parlor is the latter. A small, out-of-the-way joint in Topeka that doesn't scream for attention--but once you walk in, it doesn't need to. The air alone tells you you're in the right place. This is Daniela's house. Not in the literal sense, but in the way that matters. She runs the place with the kind of confidence you don't fake--part host, part artist, part benevolent dictator of flavor. You don't get the sense that anything leaves that kitchen unless it meets her standard, and that standard is unapologetically high. Start with the pickles. Yeah, pickles. The kind that makes you pause mid-bite and reconsider every sad, limp grocery store version you've ever tolerated. These are spiced, alive, sharp in all the right ways--like they've got a story to tell and no patience for small talk. Then there's the baked goods coming in from Oakland's Bakery--local, honest, the kind of bread that actually tastes like grain and effort instead of air and preservatives. And then you hit the sides. The spiced pimento cheese spread isn't some afterthought--it's a statement. Smoky, a little dangerous, layered in a way that suggests someone in that kitchen understands restraint just as well as indulgence. It's the kind of thing you keep eating long after you've told yourself you're done. But let's not kid ourselves. You came here for the chili. And the chili... the chili doesn't just deliver--it recalibrates. Deep, complex, unapologetically bold. It's not trying to be trendy or Instagram-friendly. It's trying to be right. The kind of bowl that makes you slow down, lean in, and pay attention. Every spoonful feels deliberate, like it's been simmering not just for hours, but for years of trial, error, and quiet perfection. The sandwiches? Stacked, messy in the best way, built on that Oakland's Bakery foundation like someone actually cares about what bread is supposed to do--hold everything together without getting in the way. This place doesn't need hype. It doesn't need a rebrand or a marketing push. It exists in that rare space where authenticity isn't a strategy--it's just how things are done. You don't come to Little Russia Chili Parlor to be seen. You come because someone told you, quietly, "Trust me." And if you're smart, you listen.

Schlotzsky's is always known for fresh bread and I enjoy the original with jalapeno bread. Then throw in their jalapeno chips tops it off. With the medium drink which to me is everyone else's large drink. Thank you for not shrinking your drinks. The assistant manager Nick is always there seems like making sure you get what you want. The decor is standard Schlotzsky's and makes it fell retro to me with the barn style and food truck decor.

(Good morning everyone in Italian)…read more I did a review the other day before I had my "original" sandwich so In thinking about it more, I wanted to say that the staff was great. The original sandwich was good but the sourdough bread could've been toasted a little more. It got soggy and I was very disappointed. The Mac & Cheese was awesome, too. It wasn't quite so bz so I stood at the counter and was chatting with Nicholas. Very nice young man and the manager Megan, she was on the ball and she was really nice as well. I went to the one on SW Gage, I believe. I'd forgotten how nice many of the people are. here. The other store in Topeka's ratings are horrible and the people were dogged down for attitudes that I won't tolerate from anyone anymore. Im the customer and the customer is always right even if they are in the wrong. Appease appease appease the customers..... granted some don't deserve to be treated well but someone has to be the better person in the chaos! Management needs to address the attitude issues in the other store. They do nothing so why is corporate not going to its stores and seeing what is going on? Again, the Schlotzky's on SW Gage is the better store and the people are very cordial and very nice.
