I have eaten at 5 guys all over the USA. i have always enjoyed eating there. I thought I heard they were closing in Topeka but went by and they were open which made me happy. I was toooo full after my cheese burger, fries and peanuts. I am a little older now and did not remember the volume of Burger and Fries. They are going to be closed in a couple weeks for redo of the front parking area. They have started in the sides but plenty of room now. All the machinery and yellow tape may make you check or call to see if they are open. But well worth checking. Same great food. read more

I have dined for many years at five guys burgers and fries when I lived in California, the food, although expensive was worth it. Since I have moved here to Kansas, I haven't had the opportunity to try five guys. So, on February 16, 2026 while I was in Kansas City Missouri, I decided to stop in and try five guys since I haven't had it in eight years; the first thing that I noticed was,was a lack of communication because the person who was taking my order didn't speak English very well and was a recent hire, so he kept getting my order wrong; another person came up to assist, and he spoke Spanish as well, but he spoke English better. The problem was , that although he translated to the cashier,he neglected to tell me what he said,. The cashier still got it wrong. Then the guy who was translating read my order back to me, , and I told him again that it was incorrect. I explained again what I wanted; he read it back to me; then .he said " I got it"; but when, I got my order; "it wrong"!!!. Now I am done; completely; I'm frustrated., I'm upset to the point that I lost my appetite and thought about just asking for a refund, but, I seriously doubted that they could do that correctly.I must say that that was only the beginning when I tasted the Cajun fries. The disappointment was unimaginable because number one the fries were lukewarm. They were old cause I could tell they had been sitting for a while because they were droopy/soggy, and tasted like somebody had taken an entire jar of Cajun seasoning and dumped it on top of the fries, shook them and put them in my bag. It was disgusting. The hotdog I ordered was so small. I couldn't believe that they actually charged me that much money for a hotdog that tiny!!! Then there was the double cheeseburger; that tasted like cardboard with string in it... (that did not taste like meat). I threw every bit of that disgusting garbage in the trash. All that money I spent I threw it in the trash because it was horrible!!! And to add insult to injury; let me tell you this last thing that put the icing on the cake; on my way home I decided I would save my drink when I got home I removed my cup from the cup holder; only to discover that the cup was empty, everything had drained out, which meant there was a hole in the bottom of my cup!!!!!! Never got to drink my drink!! so you wanna ask me what can you do to make things better/improve?? Well; number one get somebody in there that can speak English, number two get somebody in there that can take customer orders correctly, and get it right the FIRST time; and number three,, which should've been "number one", you need to go check out that location and see what they're serving because that is definitely not the quality of meat that sets five guys burgers and fries far and beyond of the burger joints you really should do a surprise check on them ...and those hotdog dogs they're selling. those are not five guys burgers fries brand; hotdog ; because the hotdog was my favorite thing and tit filled up the entire bun when split and put on a hamburger bun. This thing was so small; that I had to open it up just to see if there was actually any meat in there. It looked like some hotdogs from the store. Five guys burgers and fries hotdog are not supposed to be that small; especially for what they charge for one. That's what you can do; but; I will not be ever going back to another five guys because this five guys destroyed my love for that establishment. Stopped in on travels from Reno NV on way to Va, even at 5 min to closing we were greeted with smiles and hot French Fries. The Burgers were amazing, made to order and to top it off the staff were happy to chat!! The burgers here are just done right, period! I could write an extensive review claiming how fresh the toppings and the beef are but that is pretty much simply summed up in my first sentence. The staff are friendly and energetic, which adds to the experience. And even a small fry order will have you bursting at the seams. I recommend the Cajun seasoning. I had one employee argue with me on missing store supplies that had to be restocked. This product is a double bacon cheeseburger, this product comes with two juicy burger patties that tastes absolutely amazing, it also comes with cheese on both patties, and a few strips of bacon and 2 buns. They cook it to absolute perfection and it melts in the mouth tasting delicious. The way I used this product was I unwrapped it and shoved it in my mouth and ate it, hopefully most people would do the same. This product runs you about $11-$13. This product can be compared to freddys burgers, sheridans has delicious burgers to just some of those are good comparisons. When it comes to recommending food, this would be a product I would recommend to people looking for a good burger that will fill the stomach and each bite be perfect. This recommendation is great because it is a wonderful burger that I feel like most people would love. On a scale of 1-5 if I had to rate this burger it would be a 6 but for scale 5 would be my top. Any five guys restaurant tip!! The regular fries can feed a family of 4 easily. The Cajun fries are great and add some zing to your meal. The little burgers are huge. The food is great - cooked while you wait and you can watch them fix it. The fries are sort of pre-fried and then fried again. They taste often and give huge portions. The 'little' cheeseburger is anything BUT. It's a normal sized burger, and excellent. The fries are excellent. We enjoyed our lunch meal. We had a total group of 5. 3 kids and 2 adults. Two burgers, a large fry, and a grilled cheese. The burgers were great, cooked to order, and fresh. We were surprised about small amount of fries we received. We were told that often the fry container is full and then lots of overflow fries in the bag. They were hardly any bag fries and our late fry cup was not full. For the amount we paid for the fries (more than $4) we expected more. Also, the cashier and the counter worker who gave us our food were not particularly friendly or outgoing. No one checked on us, offered refills, or offered to clear our table. This is a bare-bones hamburger joint. Concrete floors, hard chairs, plain tables. This is a very noisy. Moving the chairs on the hard concrete floor adds to the noise level. There are shelled peanuts at the front door and near the soda machines. The peanuts that I scooped into the cardboard box were all stall. You place your order at one window and pick up at another. Order the size of burger that you want, then add condiments such as grilled onion, mushrooms, pickles, and more. They hand you the order at the other end of the counter, with the burger wrapped in aluminum foil, and the french fries poured into the bag. The bag becomes greasy from the fries. I purchased a regular burger with grilled onions, mushrooms and ketchup as condiments. The burger was just plain cooked burger. The bun was a plain white bun, a little squished. The grilled onions and mushrooms were not flavorful at all. The only good taste was the french fries which were large and plentiful, but greasy. I'm not sure what everyone thinks is so great about this place. The other reviews raved about the taste of the burger. Mine was just average. This was my first visit and will probably be my last. My boyfriend and I were hungry for fries and never had 5 guys before. We walked in and asked for two large fries. The woman behind the counter, who wasn't even taking our order, replied with, "Do you even know how large our large fry is? They're meant to feed 4-5 people." This caught my boyfriend and I both by surprise by how extremely rude this was. We adjusted our order anyways to one large fry, and all 7 people in the kitchen looked at us as if we were idiots for even asking for two. It took them 10 minutes to get our one large fry, and I work in fast food so I know it doesn't take 10 minutes to cook fries especially when it is slow (there were only 4 other people in the restaurant who were already eating). We forgot to order a cup because we were so surprised when they took our order the first time, so we went back up to ask for a water cup and the man behind the counter rolled his eyes so hard they probably would've gotten stuck. I love the fries! Five Guys has the best fries in Topeka!!!!!!! I love going to Five Guys because you get your food fairly fast and it's very good! The shakes are pretty good too. I don't get them very often but whenever I get a banana chocolate shake it's super yummy! I think the burgers are pretty big if you get the regular, so I order the little cheeseburger all the way and it's awesome! I always ask for my burger well done because sometimes they have had too much pink meat! Super great place to eat, totally recommend to anyone! read more

There is no need for a cashier to scream the orders back to the cooks. The music was too loud. We had to search for a clean table and ended up with one with a dirty cup left in the chair. Food was strewn about the floor which was already filthy. Some patrons went outside to eat and we wish we had, too. I don't like having my meal handed to me in a paper bag and then have to dump everything out and fish around for my burger. Have been to several Five Guys locations in the KC area that are excellent. This one is terrible. I ordered online 30 minutes ahead of time via their mobile app. As I get there, I see a young couple sitting down at a table near the door. I went to the pick-up area. No one acknowledged me in over 15 minutes. Noting on the confirmation e-mail that they don't cook the fries until you get there, I went to the register to make sure they knew I was present. They said they hadn't started making it yet. As I stood there, the grill was full of hamburgers, but the ones that were waiting for the toppings sat on the middle table, obviously getting cold. There were three guys manning the grill and one person making half an attempt at putting on toppings. There was NO line to order. Most of the patrons were waiting for their food. Two separate people came up to either complain about the food or report they were missing a topping. Eventually, the kid that was making the fries handed me the bag and said thanks. I'd ordered a shake and I had to show them it was on the receipt. When I left, the young couple was still sitting at their table, waiting for their food. Almost an hour for two hamburgers, a small order of fries, and a shake. I live less than 5 minutes away. The hamburgers were completely cold. The fries, which are normally good at other locations, were soggy. I think I've met Mr. Ritchie who bought this franchise location from years ago. Burgers are better than homemade! The beef is fresh and not fatty-very juicy. I'm not sure why there are one and two star reviews but can only guess perhaps they visited at a very busy time near opening day. We visited today and found a clean restaurant, cheery staff and the food came out as ordered and hot. We also both had milkshakes that were thick and creamy. The "little" burgers are one patty; the regular burgers two patties. We have visited Five Guys in New York State and Washington, D.C. and the quality at this Topeka store is just as good as we remembered. Thank you Five Guys!! read more
