I recently bought a used Prius that was purchased and sold to me with only one fob which was also missing the mechanical key. Yelp sent my information to a few different folks when I went looking; ARC Locksmith (Artem) was the only one who asked clarifying questions before offering a competitive estimate. So I chose to book with him, and I'm glad I did. Scheduling was easy, he confirmed the night before, then even let me know when he was going to be a few minutes late. On top of that, he remembered who I was and the whole story behind why I needed the key, so he was prepared before he got out of the van. As we went through the process, Artem let me know what he was doing, why he was doing it, and dropped in a few interesting and helpful facts along the way -- which, as a librarian, I appreciate! Before declaring the work done, he made sure both fobs were fully functional and even gave me key rings for each plus a spare battery. To top it off, I was halfway back into my apartment and Artem could've just driven away but instead called out so I'd make sure, after all that, the car was actually locked. It wasn't, but hey, it gave us a fun final confirmation that the new fob was working! It's not often that you find a service wherein the owner is personable, knowledgable, and skilled. Artem is by far the most honest and knowledgeable person I have met, our world needs more people like him! I sent out a service request on Yelp and received responses, but out of all of them he was the only one that wanted to ask clarifying questions and get to the root of the problem. I needed 2 smart key remotes w/emergency keys that required programming and cutting. It was getting to be a real hassle to find locksmith that was reasonable with pricing, listened, was courteous, or was responsive. Artem was that guy. He responded to my message within minutes. Friday night after we locked ourselves out of the car in Alki Beach, we called Artem. I originally was going to have the vehicle towed back to our house but he said it'd be cheaper if he just came and made a key. He was right! We left the car and he ended up going out early, making a key for the vehicle and dropping the key by our house the next morning. This is the second time he's helped us get back into the vehicle and make new keys for the same vehicle. He was prompt, professional and great to work with. The interior mechanism on my bedroom doorknob collasped, and there was no way to get in (believe me, I tried as best I could). I called ARC at 8:00 am, and Artem was here within half an hour.
