We were replacing our locks in our new home and wanted some additional security features as well. I looked into doing most of it by myself but reviews said it could be difficult. I worked with Bob and Ryan and they were extremely easy to work with and came out to the house first to see exactly what I wanted to add. I looked into some expensive locks and they helped me save a few bucks going with another brand. Anyhow I worked with them and a week later everything was ready, Ryan came to the house installed all of the hardware and it came out perfectly. Called this morning about 9 am to schedule a visit. I was told they were pretty booked , but they may be able to squeeze me in between service calls. They said a half hour window might be available late on the afternoon. I got a call back just before noon to say they could be out within the hour. A few minutes later I got another call they would be able to come by in next few minutes. Ryan showed up and provided a quick explanation of the problem and went to work right away. My new standard for all locksmith needs going forward. I had tried several local home center stores, to get a key made for a 1970s mail box at a condo I own that I want to rent. No one said they could make it. But at last ACE Hardware on Pearl Street gave me the card for Corcoran on N. Stevens... I was about halfway through my explanation at Corcoran of what I needed and heard the key machine grinding new keys while I was still talking.... amazing. I called Cochran today because my front door lock was hard to turn. They could of just scheduled an appointment and charged me for a service call, but instead they told me to try some WD40. It was a simple fix and I feel a little dumb that I didn't think to try that. They replaced my locks a couple of years ago and did a great job. You will be dealing with a family (father and two sons) located in the Proctor neighborhood, when you hire these people for you lock and key needs. Recently had them install a keypad entry lock. Showed up promptly, installed lock in short period of time. Their service was very reasonably priced. No add-on charges like travel time etc. just flat fee of $65.00 for service call, which included lock installation, re-keying lock to match deadbolt and filing faceplate to accommodate new lock. Many of the locksmiths you see on-line or in Yellow pages are not reliable. They make excessive charges and do not have a physical location. Many show bogus locations (I have located one of these concerns using a Seattle Post Office location for an address). As a matter fact, Corcoran told me that another locksmith was actually using his address to advertise services. read more

What a lifesaver! Late Friday night, I decided to go to my detached garage to grab something from my car. I came back to my house, slip the key into the lock, and my door would not unlock despite my valiant efforts for 30 minutes. In pajamas and slippers, I was freezing cold on this December night trying to get into my house while my cat watched from the window, clearly amused. I borrowed my neighbor's cell, and Corcoran Lock & Safe came to my rescue. They confirmed that door lock failed and needed to be replaced. Very helpful and professional with a family touch. I have used Corcoran twice now. Once for my daughter and once for myself. My daughter had her house re-keyed and the young man who came was prompt, helpful and the work was reasonably priced. I had been shopping for a residential safe and visited the shop. The dad gave me lots of information and in addition to visiting the shop I talked to him several times on the phone. Space constraints meant I needed a safe that they didn't currently carry. The dad got the safe in in less than a week and the two sons just left my house after installing the safe. They arrived promptly, gave knowledgeable information about locating the safe, protected my hardwood floors and completed the install quickly and cleanly. I'm pretty certain I will never use any other locksmith than Cocoran....nice people and I get a real sense of their integrity. read more

These guys are the best! They have fixed 1) 95 year old lock 2) a 1990 era lock from a manufacturer that no longer supplies parts and 3 )installed a dead lock that can use the same key as the 95 year old lock.
