Best orthopedic doctors . I had both knees replaced at different times and it's the best decision ever.

He is a wonderful doctor with a fun and casual manner That helps reduce my anxiety. His staff is great: Both front and back. Max, in the back is so helpful and always ready to help. I actually wanted to review POMA Physical Therapy group that is affiliated with Dr. Rumack. They are the best physical therapy I have ever had! It's low key, not splashy and glossy, but it's neat and clean with the best staff you'll ever find: Joe, Patti and Eulain are top notch. They truly care, remember your name, and design a regimen of exercises that you're comfortable with. It's the finest physical therapy as it should be: simple, well understood and well described. Joe and Patti will explain anything you want to know. I got a great deal out of my course of therapy and would recommend them without reservation. When I mentioned the glossy, showy places...I feel like they are all about music and TVs and wall art and the therapists talking to each other. (Hey....ok... ride that bike for 20 minutes!) I felt like they were more like a slick factory than a PT office. Come home to POMA. You won't be sorry.

I had meniscus surgery on May 23rd performed by Dr. Evan J. Bachner, MD. Shortly after, my knee…read morebecame severely inflamed, and the pain was unbearable--constant and intense, day and night. I couldn't sleep, and two separate physical therapists were unable to treat me due to the swelling. Despite my repeated concerns, Dr. Bachner and his office dismissed the severity of the situation. On June 7th, I went to the ER at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks. I spent 12.5 hours there before finally being admitted. After five fluid taps, they determined I was dealing with a gout flare-up and a bacterial infection in the joint. The ER doctors urgently wanted to perform a washout surgery to clear out the infection and crystals--but my insurance company denied it because they had already paid Dr. Bachner for the procedure. He was completely unreachable, didn't return calls, and only learned about my hospitalization through his neighbor, who happened to be one of his partners. He never followed up directly. On June 10th, I had a second surgery. When I woke up from the procedure, I was in extreme pain--easily a 10 out of 10. I later found out that no nerve block had been administered, despite prior discussions. After days of constant pain leading up to that moment, I couldn't believe it had been overlooked. The anesthesiologist was called back to perform the nerve block after the surgery, which finally gave me some relief. That should never have been an afterthought. Even earlier--at a follow-up after the first surgery--Dr. Bachner looked at my swollen, painful knee and told me everything was "normal." He sent me home without further investigation. It wasn't until I went to the ER that the real issue was uncovered. I have a 10-year documented history of gout, and somehow that wasn't taken into account. On top of all this, I waited two hours on crutches in Dr. Bachner's waiting room for a follow-up, without acknowledgment or explanation. His staff was cold and unprofessional. His own bedside manner was dismissive, and he showed little empathy for what I was going through. When I asked for better pain control, he responded by telling me he had already prescribed more than usual (Tylenol with codeine, which did nothing for me). It felt like he was more concerned about covering himself legally than actually managing my pain. Finally he prescribed something more strong. This entire experience--from misdiagnosis to post-operative care--was mishandled at every step. I went through 10 straight days of severe, unnecessary pain, and I truly believe it was avoidable. If you're looking for a surgeon who listens, responds, and treats you with compassion, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere than Dr. Evan J. Bachner, MD.

When non-surgical options did not correct the problem and I finally decided on surgery to repair the two meniscal tears, he made the entire process a breeze. Saw Dr Fields for a serious meniscus tear left knee…read more I can see how some folks may not "feel" his bedside manner, there wasn't a bunch of small talk, I'm also sort of similar with a dryer sense of humor so that doesn't bother me at all. He was straight to business and delved into my MRI and X-RAYS. Once he reviewed he knew right away what was going on and why I was so uncomfortable. He then explained the procedure and what to expect etc.. answered my questions and concerns and that was that. I had already done a fair amount of research and knew that knee surgery was imminent. His office set me up for surgery and accommodated my schedule very quickly and followed up to verify and confirm information pre-op (my insurance company was the worst part of the entire process.. imagine that).- that's another post! The surgery was in early April. Everything went very well. I literally didn't feel any pain whatsoever post surgery... I mean at all. I think I took 1 pain pill after day 2 thinking I was going to experience pain but I never did and that was that. I was never in pain after surgery, period. 3+ months later I'm 99% better, back to all my normal activities. (Knees are never the same after injury hence the 99.9%) Thanks Dr Fields and Staff! if you are looking for a chatty bubbly Doc then you may want to find someone else. Their facility is impeccable, the Office Staff is extremely well-organized and has always been thoroughly professional and helpful to me. The Office Manager has done an outstanding job of training and advising them, always keeping in touch with the efforts they put forth. ALL of the Physical Therapists easily demonstrate an incredibly-full knowledge of what needs to be done with any patient that walks in. They all also begin with full knowledge of their Clients' needs and proceed with care and full attention to each Client. If they recommend particular exercises, they always update and keep their Clients comfortably informed. I feel verrrrrrryyyyy lucky to have had my Doctor, Dr. Désirée Levyim, send me to "Community Center Physical Therapy"!!

This place is run with the low quality of care and the place is run by Patricia who is the only qualified physical therapist all all the rest of the employees are pt assistants or pt interns who just take orders. Sometimes she's not even there. I was diagnosed with tinnitus by my Primary Doctor Dr. Ojen Masour who reffered me to the place. I thought I was a good hands. I spent TWO YEARS GOING HERE! I and was there for an hour two days a week doing the work and paying out the nose. My Primary doctor diagnosed me with Tendonitus and I was doing everything I was supposed to, and I endured a huge amount of pain that very, very slowly decreased but I still had pain when I stopped going there. I didn't learn this until years later that I should have been out of there in 6 months. Not until I moved out of the area and went to a different physical therapy place. The new physical therapist was much more professional and through at taking measurments/modern tools, and medical notes with my first appointment and she quickly determined that I had Tennis Elbow. Once I started with the new physical therapist the treatment was far less gruleing and I was done in 6 months. I don't know the first thing about filing a grievance, and I can't go back in time to get my time or money back. Thought I wish I had listened to my inner voice and stopped going to them and gotten a second opinion. There was a several times I asked Patricia to provide me with my prescription so that I can go somewhere else. She got psycho angry and said no! There was a time I thought she might hit me! I was in so much pain I couldn't stop seeing them because if I just missed one day of physical therapy my pain would rapidly increase. Patricia was furious and she got close to my face and said no. SHE IS A BULLY and she was convinced she was giving me the right treatment when in fact she had two much pride and ego to even consider I could be misdiagnosed. Unfortunately I learned later until I spoke to more friends including my sister who is a Nurse she told me the Physical Therapist should have given me the diagnosis in the first place NOT my Primary Doctor. Its the Physical Therapists job to do the assessment at your first appointment and give the diagnosis.
