So, this is a big ARC. On one hand, I guess it's nice because it can be a one-stop shop for clothes, house goods, etc. The clothes, overall, were organized ok. It has a dingy feel inside. Dressing rooms are locked, which is fine but you need to ring a bell for someone to come, except -- no one comes. Some hero had to climb under the doors, unlock them from the inside to open them for the line of people wanting to try things on. Amazing thrift store in Colorado Springs. I've found so many great things here, even many nice business casual clothes for a great price. It's perfect for ugly Christmas parties or random shirts..for a bachelorette party I had to find an oversized deranged graphic t shirt and I found the perfect thing at the Arc for $4. They have furniture, household items and dishes / Knick knack as well! If you're looking for a really great deal, they also usually have 50% off of a certain color. It can take some time to dig through everything, but if you have the time this is a great place to thrift and find some really special items. read more

I love a good thrift shop and this ARC location is one of my favorites. Clothing isn't usually my thing, but I collect vintage and unique cookbooks and i've found some really fun ones here! They have a great selection of glassware and textiles, and this December i've noticed a really nice christmas/holiday section as well. I didn't love the obvious resellers but thats a personal ick and nothing bad about the store! Reasonable prices for the most part, (I did think the pictures/wall art were somewhat higher than I would expect) and their staff from what limited interactions i've had seemed good. read more

Arc thrift store is one of my favorite thrift stores in town. Every time I come in, I always find something amazing. They seem to always be pretty stocked on everything in the clothing section and have plenty of every size. I've purchased several jeans and sweaters here at pretty good prices. I also like that this store is always pretty organized at least in the clothing section. If you're looking for a decent thrift store Arc is definitely the place to start! DONATING: Sometimes the ARC staff, who is helping unload our car, will tell you if something your giving is just going to be put in their trash. Seems only because they want to keep their trash expenses down. I had, with a worn top-but still nice, a wood kitchen center island/wheeled cart. They said they wouldn't take/couldn't sell it. Even though creative people can update/refresh it by just painting the top etc and there was nothing else wrong with it. So I took it back home and taped a small "free" sign on it and set it in front of my house. It was gone within 2 hours. It's a real shameful crime against humanity and our planet's precious resources that so much is thrown away. We ask why we are working our lives away and the oceans are dying. It's all tied to consumerism instead of not being wasteful, greed and maximizing profits. The ARC has a very important job. I hope they will strive to be inventive and find ways to do a better job of seeing things get reused/repurposed instead of thrown away. Why don't they have a free/almost free section, because they are afraid it will reduce their profits/sales of priced items? The ARC is great yet we know we could be doing even better. Because currently so much that could be reused is being thrown away. read more

5 stars for the Arc stores and the workers. 1 star for its leadership. We're big supporters of Arc but today are disappointed in their leadership. The regional office is closed while the stores remain open for Labor Day, implying (among other things) that their time with family is more important than that of their workers'. Disappointing and shameful. read more

I do not expect much from a thrift store. I do like Arc because they don't turn up their nose at some items like other thrift stores do. They have refused a baby crib, but I told my wife-unit they would when she made me take it over there. Up until recently they still took TVs and most thrift stores haven't allowed that for years. I haven't given them any, but I have seen others donate TVs and monitors. I don't really buy much, but we are always on the lookout for a certain specific pie pan and have picked up a few. My wife-unit makes a lot of fruit pies and gives them away, sometimes to out of state relatives, so if we ever get the pans back it will still be a long absence. I have picked up two different VHS machines so that the mother-in-law-unit could watch her old tapes and I got acceptable service out of them. No remotes, however. read more

Damn, I've seen a lot of junk in my day but this place takes the cake! I was intrigued because the parking lot in front was near full and by the size of the place. Once I walked through the doors, it was junk city all the way baby. I went for the sole pupose of finding furniture but I didn't find anything due to the higher prices. However, the first thing I found was a Betsey Johnson laptop case for $3.99 so that distracted me from my lack of furniture sadness. I found some other odds and ends in the housewares section and a couple of books on cd. This place was crawling with old folks and I thought that maybe there was a breakout from a local old folks home but turns out Tuesday is Senior Citizens Day so blue hairs galore! I know what I need to do next time I come here-grab an elderly person and get 50% off on certain colors. read more

This place is expensive for a thrift store. I was very surprised. They were selling a name brand cardigan with a hole in it for $12.99. The prices were what I would expect to pay for new items on clearance at Marshalls or TJ Maxx, not a thrift store. I am from Ohio so perhaps this is normal for Colorado? I was just surprised. They did have a lot of inventory though and it was well organized. read more

This is the worst ARC in town, possibly even the worst thrift store in town. There's plenty of inventory but it's not usually good quality. Lots of stains and holes in the clothes. Endless naked Barbie dolls. On top of the low quality, items are overpriced and they only do 1 color tag on sale each day, except Saturdays. (Tuesdays are 50% off Senior days, also. With 4 colors on sale.) The store is pretty shabby for a thrift store. Nobody expects Nordstrom when they go to ARC, but this one looks like it never gets cleaned or repaired. To put the nail in the coffin, the employees I've encountered are pretty rude. Stock associates who will just push their way past you and knock things off your cart without even saying excuse me. Today's cashier was yelling at her cash register while ringing up my sale, then wadded everything up and crammed it into a bag. She never even looked at us until my toddler informed her we were going to get tater tots and we'd bring some back for her! read more

This is the busiest Arc Ive ever seen. And Has alot of variety from what ive seen in other stores. They have the same specials as every other Arc. The Cashiers move you thru the line quickly which is great as well. But on something they were greatly overpriced. read more

I don't often do too much shopping here, but when I do I always end up either finding something pretty cool or something pretty cheap - one way or the other I'm buying something. They have all your standard things you would expect to find; clothes, flatware, VHS tapes, video games on 3.5 floppies, and some furniture. Plus, a lot of the money ends up going to a pretty good place - so if you need to grab something, might as well check it out before you give Walmart or Amazon money to keep subjugating the human race. read more

I used to be a regular shopper here for the variety and location but have stopped giving them my business for two reasons. One: their gouging prices. Just because something has a designer label and is trendy does not make it an opportunity to gouge thrift shoppers and this is repeated on every item in the store which the Arc got for FREE let's not forget! Prices have risen to ridiculous levels over the last couple of years and ,yet, many of their staff are also, FREE, lest we forget, as they come to work off their community service. So, FREE items donated plus FREE labor as a business model should NOT have used items priced almost the same as you would buy at new stores like Ross or TJ Max, Secondly, and most importantly, they began discriminating against people who cannot wear masks sometime in Jan. and were targeting people trying to come in as they had before, for almost 8 months, very rudely, even though they do not have the right and it is illegal to do so. They are an essential store which doesn't offer any sort of online shopping, delivery or pick-up services, thereby, anyone depending on them for their essential goods are SOL according to the Arc. Well, ya know what, ARC, there are some mighty fine Goodwill stores in the area getting better and better every day and keeping their prices reasonable, so let's hope you soon lose many customers to them, and rightly so! read more

I have lived in six cities in three states, and nowhere has there been an arc as consistently clean and diversely stocked as this arc. Was it disorganized sometimes? Sure. The dressing rooms were usually kind of gross. But it was easy to get MANY home furnishings and appliances, and their inexpensive new mattresses were--while not high quality--super functional for my needs. And when I needed quirky costumes or real clothing, their selection was consistently better than any other thrift store I've ever been too. I dearly miss you, The Arc On West Uintah. Great selection of antiques and unique items, I have found english bone china tea cups here and beautiful Italian crystal glasses, DVD's for $ 1.50 as well as a brand new microwave oven, still in original box for $25,- And in that strip mall is a Kings, Starbucks, PetCo, $Store, Joghurt shop and more - great place to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon. read more

This is the best ARC. A lot of people come here. There are other ARCs on North & South Academy check out those they seem bigger to me. But great store. I wish the prices wouldn't go up when popularity rises. read more

The store is pretty good and I like the location and I'd prefer to donate. I had some really nice very gently used furniture so I scheduled a pickup. Easy? Right? Not so much. The pleasant but slightly scattered scheduler told me the correct day etc. then I get a message saying pickup is the day before scheduled. Here's the fun part: the message was generated after the call line was closed for the day--2pm. The truck was coming tomorrow -- a full day early. Not possible for me to be ready. Who was I supposed to let know about this error? Over an hour wasted getting numerous phone numbers and fraying temper. Voicemail is very popular at ARC GHQ. Finally did get an actual cell number for the trucking manager....voicemail! Getting late.No one willing to help...wait a minute! I'm donating this stuff! Apparently the corporate offices and the trucking manager don't care b/c the corporate offices turn off the phones at 3:30. I find it pretty interesting that they'd rather send out a truck for nothing than take a phone call to reschedule. Will I donate again? Not if they think this is good practice. Rather donate to some outfit that actually cares. read more

I would avoid this store like the plague. My daughter tried to offer her services as a VOLUNTEER here, was treated horribly by the manager and turned away. (The fact that my daughter is early 20's, well spoken and attractive may have had something to do with this. She contacted ARC public relations in Denver, where the PR manager promised to look into the incident and get back to her. Never happened. Stand up for civil behavior and boycott the ARC. read more

This is one of my favorite thrift store haunts, well used to be. I like thrift stores for the bargins. They used to be great here. In the last year it has gotten out of hand with some items, but then you find a really great bargin. Apparently I cannot turn here to find vintage furniture to re do or re purpose. A 1940's ish buffet for $160? I could go to a consignment store for those prices. Still go every so often out of loyalty, but seriously... By the way, if you are going to tag a knock-off handbag for $60, make sure it's a decent looking knock-off. read more

This used to be my favorite thrift store and favorite location despite the quirks. Unfortunately, as most thrift stores in this miserable town have done, they've jacked up the prices. I realize it's all for a good cause but keep in mind this crap was donated. If I can get a new plastic pitcher at Target for $3, why would I pay $2.99 for a used one? There's also some unwritten rule that it takes forever to check out no matter which location you are at, and the "do you want to round up?" thing is annoying. This Uintah location doesn't always have the best selection, and they close early on some days. If you want a good ARC (sales on the weekends!) go to the one by Chapel Hills or Austin Bluffs! THose are the best ones. read more

HUUUUUGE store. I found quite a few awesome vintage goodies including copper Moscow mule mugs, a big eye Gig pity kitty framed print, an owl planter, and a Gunne Sax dress. Prices were definitely high, which is why I can't give them 5 stars. But the selection is massive and you won't leave empty handed. read more

Worst ARC in town! Don't go out of you way for this one. This place is sure rude and not at all helpful for a benevolent non profit organization who depends on the public to survive. Selection is paltry and the employees are unfriendly and the parking is horrible.This town could do without this particular store there are plenty of others around that are much better than this location. read more

I absolutely LOVE this store! Affordable prices and always the coolest items- whether it be for your home, clothing, shoes, or even gag gifts because it has all sorts of donations. The store is huge and the volunteers and employees are great at keeping things organized and returning clothes from the dressing room to their appropriate rack. Great place to shop! read more

I go to ARC because it's local, has new offerings every day, and I get medical supplies there. Adult diapers to be exact. At a really good price. If I go on Saturday I can get a pack that would cost $15 at Wally World (MallWart) for maybe $1.50. I know I did the other day. That's a 90% reduction. Also art supplies. My art is sold on a basic premise that it's as much recycled or second hand content as possible. And I bought the other day a bunch of beads, needles, and tools that would cost me about $30 at Hobby Lobby for $3. Again with that 90% markdown. Sure, I could put a huge chunk of my SSI into some Wall Street traded store, make the richest even richer and me a lot more impoverished. Except I ain't stupid. read more

Wow. I mean, WOW. Arc is one of those thrift stores that charges stupidly cheap prices for things that are worth way more, and exorbitant prices for simple, cheap things. And boy, those items aren't just overpriced--they are ridiculously, unfathomably overpriced. The selection is good enough, but what good does that do when the items in that selection are far more than what one should pay at a thrift store? I think the word "thrift" is in their name for decoration only... I'll give you an example: I picked up a trio of candle-holders I saw in the store that I thought were attractive. They were nice enough, and after some thought I realized I'd seen the same set at a local Ross at the price of $15.99 for the whole set--but the price on each candle holder was 7 bucks. Yes, 7 bucks each. So buying all 3 brings you to $21 dollars plus tax for used candle-holders you can get brand new for $16. Hm. Never mind that a new set would also come free from old candle wax and the nicks on the store's set--$21 is what they want and $21 is the price they ask. Okay. Best of luck with that. I--like many others--come to thrift stores to get deals, not to pay full price or more. If I want to do that I'll go buy brand new. As far as the under-priced items--a mid-century modern vanity table I saw there was all of 30 bucks. 30 bucks. It was REAL vintage by a well-known furniture maker and would have drawn hundreds at a consignment store or boutique--but they want a king's ransom for the small, cheap items? What am I missing here? What I want to know is who is determining their prices and what methodology they use. I would feel better about purchasing something there if they came out and admitted that they added an extra amount onto the determined price because the profits benefit charity. It's better than feeling insulted because someone assumes you're daft enough to pay over-new prices for used gear. read more

Came to this thrift store to buy clothes and books with my sister. I use a walker. I was not the only person in the store using a walker. Unfortunately this meant that I could not go down many aisles as they were not handicapped accessible. Had I been in my wheelchair I would not have been able to access much of the store. I did find some things to try on, but then found out that there was not a handicap accessible dressing room. They don't have one. The manager, Kelly, was apologetic and sent me to the back to the store to the handicap accessible toilet. Unfortunately, the bathroom was disgusting. The toilet bowls were full of nastiness. There was trash on the floor. I was forced to change in the middle of the bathroom while other women tried to get to a stall. Then, to add insult to injury, when we were checking out we were asked to donate to Americans with Disabilities. Really? I politely declined. I don't trust a facility to give my money to others with disabilities when they obviously care so little for them. This ARC was disgraceful. read more

This Arc is over priced. There's old rusted shower caddy's that you can buy new for the same price of $15. There's lanterns that have had nailpolish all over them that go for the price of new at Ross and worst of all the Christian Prayer Candles are 0.99 half used with God knows what kind of hair stuck in them when they can be purchased new for $1 at Wal-Mart. It's actually pretty sad to see how much they're charging when they're supposed to be helping. read more

It's really sad when thrift stores are priced higher than retail shops. The products aren't that great and everything is way overpriced. I've thought this for months but finally decided to write a review when I came into the Arc looking for some vases just to find out that I could get them much cheaper at Hobby Lobby.
