Speaking of nice, the shop was well organized, clean, the items I looked at were priced right and tagged appropriately too. Too many "thrift shops" refuse to accept things. Not quite ready for the pumpkin spice everything so I moved on. There were quite a few baking pans, hostess gifts and charcuterie boards that caught my eye. Also they have a wide selection of food and snacks.I did noticed that the shelves were filled. Usually like to buy fur baby a snack too but ended up with something target instead. The major score was the soft football blanket I can't wait to snuggle up in. The line was quick and the cashier was friendly; which I tend to take notice. For that I give an extra star! Although this store is out of my way it's worth the drive.

Many things are sold on consignment and the items drop in price each month they remain unsold. We filled our vehicle up with great finds. Will definitely come back when we are in town. Sigh, Second Chance used to be my number one when I was in the Evergreen/Conifer/Pine area. They always had deals, friendly staff and treasures galore. But oh how the turntables have turned.....no more. They had a new manager come in and I think she thinks she's running a tight and efficient ship but I don't agree. She has limited the number of bags you can donate and in turn, the quality of the items of the store have gone down. I wish they would have more signs about prices and/or deals of the day where you can see them and that the Mens section wasn't on a completely different level (very tucked away) than the Womens. There's different associates working/volunteering there but it doesn't appear that new manager trusts anyone with checking people out when they want to pay. Thrift stores are usually a happy place for me and Second Chance gave me a case of the sads this past time I visited.

I had a shopping cart was immediately scolded by a worker who told me not to use the shopping cart in the aisle because I would be knocking all the clothes off to keep my cart along the out perimeter. I not to talk to me in that manner that I am adult. He proceeded to continue being confrontational told me I won't get far in life with that attitude. I have never experience such a RUDE employee any where I have ever shopped. I had not even been in the store 10 minutes. I left shortly after as it had become an uncomfortable experience at a that point. I asked who he was and he was the manager of the store. What a leader. I have been going to going to goodwill for years for both donations and buying. I will never go back to any goodwill after that salty experience.

The hangers were the main character. Everything else was supporting cast. Some people impulse-buy...shoes. I impulse-buy organization systems. I have been known to remove products from their original packaging so I can place them into more aesthetically appealing storage containers. This is not a cry for help. It is a lifestyle and an intentional choice. Yes, I could have ordered everything online. But convenience wasn't the point. I wanted to see the products. I wanted to be seduced by perfectly arranged displays of...systems. And frankly, I needed to get out of the house. Back to the hangers. A very specific type. A very specific color. Blonde wood. This was not optional. I walked in like a man on a mission only to find the display empty. Again. This has happened before. I felt that quiet retail heartbreak and moved on, primary objective unfulfilled. There is something uniquely disappointing about an empty hanger display when your closet vision depends on tonal consistency. Then an employee asked, "Are you finding everything okay?" I decided to be brave and answered with one word: "No." She paused. That was clearly not the expected script. After a moment, she said she'd grab the manager. Enter John, manager, who found me mid spiral, comparing approximately 47 varieties of hooks. I explained the hanger situation and mentioned that this particular stock issue felt...recurring. He calmly said he'd check the back for new inventory. I returned to my hook deliberations, down to about 12 finalists, when John and the original employee approached me carrying boxes. And boxes of MY hangers. It felt like a retail miracle. I may not have audibly gasped, but internally? Full on happiness. They were gracious, apologetic about past stock gaps, and genuinely helpful. John smiled and said, "All you have to do is ask." Well, duh. Sometimes growth looks like saying "no" in a polite tone at The Container Store. I left with everything I came for, plus more hangers than any reasonable person needs, and appreciative of the customer service. I'll be back. Probably for drawer dividers.

They do have boxes for high heels and boots, but I am paring down my collection of very high heels and adding more walking shoes. The shoe boxes were brought out to my car by a cheerful, friendly woman. This was a very easy process. My only disappointment was that they don't offer assembly for a desk chair purchased by itself. At these prices, assembly should be included.
