They also offer education services for local school children. My only complaint is that the folks who work there can vary from shy and reasonable to incapable and rude. For Example - trying to pay for something with a debit card and being told that "she's on the phone in the office", so the card reader can't dial out. You can leave this place feeling good about the nice birds being protected or infuriated at the terrible customer service inflicted upon you. BTW I am talking about the paid staff here - not the volunteers

You can make a cup of tea or coffee from a machine and buy biscuits but, for a fuller snack or meal, go round to the cafe on the other side of Lochwinnoch - not very far, just a mile or two. For those without a car it's still easy to get to the nature reserve by train as there's a stop nearby. We had a nice walk which was very tranquil - hardly met anyone - and sat overlooking the loch on a bench. The only sounds were birds and the occasional train in the distance.
