On February 21, 2026, I submitted a USAA Property Claim for roof replacement and stained ceiling tiles in garage and hallway from leaking roof. All requested documents were submitted to include pictures and receipts for removal of tree limb that fell on the roof on April 15, 2020, and pictures of water-stained ceiling, however, my claim was denied for roof replacement but approved for water-stained ceiling repair in garage and hallway, which was caused by a leaking roof. When I requested a reason why the roof replacement was denied, I was not given a CLEAR, CONCISE, or DIRECT answer other than the following, "yes there were several ridges," and nothing more. When I requested a copy of the "roof inspection report" from the USAA inspector, I was denied and told the following, "The report is considered proprietary information for USAA." I have faithfully been paying my premiums monthly for Auto & Property and has not missed a payment over the past 40 years, however, USAA has a problem honoring claims filed by veterans, especially 100% service-connected disable veterans. The roof is 15 years old and leaks, however, USAA does not want to honor the policy I have been paying for since purchasing the home in 2017. *VETERANS AND VETERAN FAMILIES BE WARE! USAA IS A CORRUPT COMPANY THAT MARKETS TO VETERANS, HOWEVER, THEIR ACTIONS HAVE PROVEN THAT THEY ARE DISHONEST, DECEIPTFUL, AND CORRUPT! Unfortunately the rep I normally worked with moved on and since then the level of service has been far and away the worst service I've received from any insurance company I've dealt with and probably in the top five of all time bad experiences with any type of business. Every time I call the office they have an excuse as to why they cannot answer my question. Several times they said their computers were not working and would call me back though never did. I was told one time they needed to call Allstate to get more information and they would call me back though never did (I called them back two days later). Once I was told they had a power outage and they would have to call me back, they did call me back the next day though still did not have an answer to my question. The worst part of my entire experience over the last few years is the fact that when I call Allstate directly to discuss issues they automatically forward my call back to the agent. Whatever you do, take your business elsewhere!! There are many options when it comes to insurance agencies, this should not be one of them.

So I got heated and called Thursday, got no help. Then I called them again on Friday the 22nd to get my refund for at least one of those charges and cancel with them because they've been nothing but problems. Then they asked for bank statements! Fine. I did my customer duty and called both banks. Both banks were actually helpful and faxed both statements to Progressive's research/finance team with my policy numbers included. I got all the information settled and sent to them. I was told they would contact me before Friday. NOTHING. So I called Progressive again and got a rude-ass customer representative. She was no help at all when I asked why I hadn't gotten my refunds or even a call back. Then she tells me their research department had no attachments or records for my request! I'm pissed. I did everything right and then got told they couldn't refund anything. I've been through hoops and circles with them. Then they had the audacity to ask for more proof AGAIN. I told her, really?! So I can wait another week while y'all charge me for another month? Hell no. I told her to cancel the damn policy and I'll call my banks again. I want my money back. So I called both banks once again, and both have records regarding all of this. They're now disputing the charges for me. So now it's up to Progressive. I'm so done. Poor behavior, terrible service, zero communication, and I honestly feel like I've had to fight for my own money every step of the way. Now I'm out over $400 and still waiting for answers. My advice? Don't use them. My experience has been an absolute nightmare, and the way this was handled made me feel like I was being scammed out of my own money.
