Great shop, great bunch of people working there, talking music. Have a lot of new vinyl as well. Some guy giving them low stars for parking, like maybe yelp the street instead.

However, I had a recent experience that put me off…read more I came to sell about 50 books that are in very good condition and quite popular, but most were turned down. Even when I said I wasn't necessarily looking to make money, just donate to a place I like, they told me that taking my books would "burden" them... Even though that's what this place is for, selling and buying used books! I went to a bookstore further up Mont-Royal who took them. I certainly understand that they couldn't take all of them depending on the value, but it was really their dismissive and quite rude attitude that took me off guard. Not sure I'll shop there again, unfortunately.

My review is really based on vinyl records as that's what lured me in. The shop is very clean and neatly organized. They had some nice new arrivals plus several bins of rock, jazz, classical, and whatever else in between. I found one record I wanted, but a few others I already had that I otherwise would have grabbed. Prices were pretty fair. They also carried CDs, but no cassettes. Of course they have lots of books and nice area to sit and relax. Cool spot worth checking out for a little browsing.

Grabbed some hard(ish) to find records at a great price and some very generously priced used records. Returned later in the week to see if a new release had come in, which it hadn't, so the owner recommended other close by record stores to check out to see if they had received any copies yet - so nice!

An absolutely wonderful record shop, with a very wide range of genres, and with excellent…read moreorganization. The prices are a little unpredictable, some things seemed way overpriced to me, yet other more unique and rare things seemed undervalued. So: lots of fun to look through, and some very high quality recordings, old, new, re-issues, and unique new vinyl. The shop is located in a nice shopping and dining area of Mount Royal. The shop itself is very clean, well-lit, organized, easy to navigate. They had practically every genre with both new and used vinyl available. One of the biggest issues I had was the mixing of used and new records in the same bins. It just took longer too search through since I mainly was looking for used. Either way, I still walked away with some great stuff. Everything I looked at was in good shape. They had tons of new vinyl and reissues. Easily, the largest selection of new vinyl in Montreal. I also noticed tapes (fairly small) and CDs too. They also run a discogs account where some stuff on there may not be located on the main sales floor. The staff at the counter were friendly as well. Worst record experience in 25 years of collecting. Went check some records they had listed online…read moreat their shop, the person responsible of that was obviously completely stranger to the record world. First while I was checking the records (like 50 of them, I was planning of getting a lot), he stand behind my back the whole time making me feel pressured. I mentioned him that most of the records were warped, he didn't even know what that meant!!! And he couldn't care less. I asked if he played/checked them, and he gave me attitude. There is no turntable in the shop (in a record shop, sure, what for?), so I could only check the records with the naked eye, and as you know it sometimes hard to tell how badly warped it is until you actually play it. Turned out there was some bad ones once I played them. The next day I call him explaining him, asking him if he could take back the worse ones, for a refund or even a store credit, he he didn't want hear anything, not even for credit?! Then he complained again that I checked the records and that nobody forced me to buy them; worse argument for someone who doesn't have a record player around. We're talking about $100 records here, for a total of several hundreds. I wanted to return half of them, so it's a huge loss for me. Never judge a book by its cover? My ass! This douchey hipster probably spend more time at the gym and at those barber shops than in a shows or record conventions (None of my business but I don't understand why gay man won't come out of the closet nowadays, it's 2020, live your life buddy!). On block away west there is Aux 33 tours records store who will offer more references for better prices and WAY better customer service.

This place has been open since 2007, yet I'm still the first to review it! Don't you just love…read moresurprises? Wall to wall with old vinyls, this is an awesome place to go crate diving. Don't expect to find the rarest treasures, but best bet is that you won't walk away empty handed. It's also got a decent, English used books section, which is a rarity in the Plateau. They have a decent selection of music, but I go mostly to get tickets for shows. They sell the tickets for less than any other place in the city, not charging any fees. A place you definitely have to check out in Montreal!

The clerk piled some serious attitude right on me, while I was with my baby daughter no less, and kicked us out for having the audacity to ask about a top-forty album on vinyl. It's a nice shop, beautifully designed, but unfortunately the Omega-level rudeness and condescension means I'll no longer be buying either records or concert tickets from them. Luckily L'Oblique is only a brisk walk away.

A small bookshop with a wide selection of used books for really good prices. I did not see a sign…read morethat said cash only; instead, the cashier grumpily informed me as I was paying for my books. Not easy to enter if you have mobility issues.

I love this bookstore. It's so homey. If you come here you will have no trouble finding classic…read morenovels on the cheap. It's one of the cheapest used book stores I know. All books I've seen and bought here have been in great condition.
