This was his first time trying archery, and my first time since I was a Girl Scout so my first time too LOL. Anywho, our instructor Berny was very knowledgeable and intentional about providing us with a safe, yet, enjoyable experience. Date night classes can fill up to 8 guest total--however there was only one other couple there when we went so it was still pretty intimate. They also offer complimentary refreshments which was nice because I love me some chai tea lol. Also, since doing this class we both now qualify for open range since we've been through the safety protocols and have an idea of how to shoot an arrow now. Can't wait to come back and practice what I learned--Definitely a fun sport, but also a great survival skill to have.

Review only for Treetop and Zipline Adventure…read more Pretty disappointed especially since we didn't get to finish the whole adventure. There's an optional Black course at the end that we ran out of time so we ended up having to get lowered down. Our group took longer during the obstacle course intro area which was counted towards the time. The driver even came over to see what the hold up was. So we began on the actual course late. You're packed tightly into a van and driven up to the start of the Treetop Adventure. I've done another Zipline course excursion before and it included a lot of hiking whereas this one was pretty minimal. It definitely differed in safety. There seemed to only be one size harness and no one was weighed or height measured. One of the kids in the group definitely struggled to reach things. Since we were in the back we ended up helping people. Which I don't mind, I'm all for lending a hand. But on the other excursion I did there were two employees, one in the front and one in the back and I feel like that would've streamlined the process to move quicker. It was pretty inconsistent whether the instructor was in the front, back, or middle of the group. I also wish there had been some organization with the order of the group. There was another couple where the lady had done this course multiple times before and the instructor told her to go first. But the kids/teenagers wanted to be in the front of the line. They tended to be slower which slowed down the process. The kids pushed to go first and then their families followed so we ended up being stuck in the back. And the instructor didn't really enforce things. Like at the end with the optional Black course you have to get up this tricky ladder in order to be allowed on the course. You get two tries. The teen in front of us struggled and said he wanted to stop but ended up being helped up his second try, just to be immediately let down once he got up on the initial platform. Since we were running late on time my husband and I stood at the front to try to get on this last obstacle course first but the teens ended up rushing in front of us so we were again at the end. 5 of us ended up having to be let down due to time. I wasn't a huge fan of that since she actually lowered us right into a bush and I got a bunch of bug bites. Things largely depend on the group. Things just went slowly for our's and besides the ending 3 people had to be let down by the instructor (which is pretty time consuming). Another disappointing thing were the ziplines. They were pretty short and there were also some where everyone (including the instructor) stopped short and had to pull themselves to the end. At one the instructor even stayed behind to push a younger girl to help her make it further but she also stopped short. The lady who had done the courses before said she's never seen it happen this frequently. I think the lines were too slack. There's water coolers scattered around the course but no paper cups. So bring a backpack or fanny pack with a bottle. Also the lodge lost power when we got back. And we had a longer drive back so it made for an interesting bathroom visit at the end..

I rarely feel the need to write reviews, positive or negative. If a company doesn't deliver, I…read moremade a bad choice using their product or service. In this case however, I must state that Weaknecht Archery may be one of the worst businesses that I ever encountered. First, some brief background...in the summer of 2024, I noticed a screw was missing from the scope rail on my Excalibur crossbow, which I believed was causing me difficulty in zeroing in the crossbow. In the end the main issue was a scope that had gone bad over time, which Excalibur took care of completely at no charge due to their excellent warranty. But prior to diagnosing the scope as the culprit, I took the crossbow to Weaknecht Archery; they "properly replaced the screw", told me "that a missing screw couldn't possibly cause that issue", charged me $5 for the screw and sent me on my way. I put an older scope back on and had a successful archery season. In the summer of 2025 I decided to upgrade to a better scope. Although I could get decent groupings, every few days I would have to check and adjust the scope; the problem persisted into the season. That's when I noticed the scope rail was moving over time (again). I tried to tighten the screws and to my amazement the screw that Weaknecht Archery installed was not able to be tightened. I believe they "fixed it" with lock-tite because the boss was stripped; for the record, I did not strip the threads. So back to Weaknecht's Archery where I requested that the crossbow be sent to Excalibur for warranty service; incidentally the person on duty agreed that the crossbow should be sent out due to the nature of the issue and stated that it would be many weeks or months for the repair in the middle of the archery season. In order to keep hunting (based on their information about repair time), I purchased a new Excalibur crossbow from Weaknecht Archery. My first Excalibur was purchased at Cabela's; I received better support and information from them at the time of purchase. The new Excalibur crossbow (from Weaknecht Archery) was not set up correctly, the sales person gave me wrong information about the current settings for the string, told me not to bother with installing the sound suppressors, told me that I could use my current string cocking/decocking aid and string changing aid (which was also incorrect) and the crossbow had a faulty string installed which I discovered after several shots. I am not sure it was even the correct string because the replacement strings from Excalibur are slightly different. Excalibur provided me with the proper information and support for my new crossbow, not Weaknecht Archery. And what about my older crossbow that should have been sent to Excalibur for proper service? Weaknecht Archery never sent it out. Unbeknownst to me, within a week they "called me", but never left a message. A month later they called again, sounding annoyed that I didn't pick up the crossbow. When I asked them if it was sent out for the requested work, their response was "we work on 50 bows a week and cannot keep track of which ones are sent out versus the ones repaired in house". Both employees became argumentative, defensive and countered their own statements when the point being made favored their position. They did not follow Excalibur's warranty procedures and then charged me for something that would/should have been totally covered by Excalibur. They didn't even supply me with a bill itemizing what was or wasn't done for service. When I called them on this practice of making repairs under warranty and charging money, they stated that "Excalibur does not get to dictate how we do business". Finally, I think they "fixed" the issue the same way as in the summer of 2024. Per other reviews that I have read, this business has a chip on their shoulder as soon as they find out that you didn't purchase the product from them; even though (remember) I purchased a new crossbow from them. One would think a better way to handle a prospective new customer who purchased elsewhere would be with a statement like..."hey, I understand that you purchased somewhere else, but we're going to show you why we are the archery store that will take care of you and your hunting needs". If you have read this entire review, let me be blunt, everything about this business is questionable: sales support, repair service and customer relations...they are all atrocious. I recommend that you find an archery shop that really cares about its customers; I will NEVER go back to Weaknecht Archery.

The lady who picked up the phone can't hear well, which I completely understand, and I tried to speak louder and more clearly after she told me. But she kept hanging up on me and I had to call 3 times to finish our conversation. She told me to email her daughter to book. I emailed the address that she gave me and didn't hear back for a few days. But then I heard back a day before we wanted to do the lesson and were able to book it on email. They accommodated our specific availability and made it really fun once we got there! Would definitely go back!!
