Move over Smithsonian. Archie McPhee is the home to the Rubber Chicken Museum. A free exhibit in the back of the store with 2D art and a jersey giant size collection of rubber chickens. Plus- Get your photo with the World's Largest Rubber Chicken.! Archie McPhee is also the best gift shop on the planet. Possibly the universe. I've ordered from their catalog for (20+) years. Living closer now, I come here whenever I'm in town. Creative and odd gifts for everyone in your life! Caesar salad flavored candy canes, Madonna styled 80s bracelets, 2 headed dolls, and more! It's always a treat to see what new treasures Archie McPhee has in stock.

Popped here at long last after passing it numerous times. One of those off the path, yet in your face attractions you check out whilst in Seattle. Archie McPhee is an oddity, novelty gift shop that has all sorts of quirky and "weird" toys, gags, decor and other gifts that ranges from silly and odd to practical...or perhaps practical jokes. A place you stop at for your April fool's gags, Halloween add-ons or party favors and collectible pez dispensers. Rember Pez? Some of the random things found within are as follows: Unicorn horns, & Elf Ears, vintage style lunch boxes, campy signs, Axolotl plushies, Birthday party supplies, masks and of course the Rubber chicken museum which is .... about what you'd expect. My middle school teacher and rubber chicken enthusiast would've love it here. (If you're reading this Mr. Kornhauser, check this place out). The staff are very nice here and its dog friendly which is part of what further prompted my visit. If you're looking for specific off beat toys, gags and gifts or similar this is the place to come. Even if you're bumping around the neighborhood, it's a fun little stop in here for a few minutes or so.

It's a fun little gift shop I always drive past on 45th with different little gimmicky or prank items you can buy. I took my girlfriend here for fun, and it was a nice little stroll around the store with lots of amusing items to look at. They also have a little "Rubber Chicken" museum inside, with a gigantic Rubber Chicken standing in the store as well. If you like whimsy places to take your friends and family, Archie McPhee is a capsule of fun!

Quirky store with a vast sense of humor and an even vaster selection of random sundry goods to tickle your funny-bone. It's way too easy to spend hours browsing and come away with miscellaneous items such as a blobfish holiday ornament or a handi monster or an inflatable unicorn horn for cats (not that I ever would, mind you...okay, I would and did!).

This place is unique and amazing. It's definitely worth going just to look at everything. This is probably the best place to go id you are looking for a wide selection of game gif5s or whit elephant type things yi buy. Depending on what you buy dir the nist part it's also cost effective. Every one we interacted with was super helpful and friendly. Dont miss the rubber chicken museum on the back wall.

Come for the cool, stay for the rubber chickens. Archie McPhee's is your source for the nick-nacks and gadgets all under one roof that you cannot find anywhere else. Hand-punch puppets, oddly flavored candy canes, a rubber duck museum. This is the kind of place you can spend two hours or ten minutes. Browse, BUY SOMETHING, and be nice to the staff. They'll tell you funny, cool stories. It's worth a stop even if you're driving through the state.

SEATTLE - I can imagine if you lack whimsy and hate the clutter of nicknacks and tchotchkes, you wouldn't dig this retailer. For the rest of us, this place is heaven. A ridiculous selection of stuff one doesn't need but certainly wants, like rubber chickens and a billion kinds of finger puppets and random scientific supplies such as beakers. Also houses a quasi rubber chicken museum. Highly recommended. Just dropped $50 there and easily could've spent double that.

Archie McPhee is a staple for my work colleagues and myself when we want to add some ridiculousness to our office. When I was recently about to head off on my trip to Seattle, they legit sent me a shopping list in our group chat... asking for things like a "groaning blobfish", "possum in a peanut", and "stress tardigrade". Seriously, people... a GROANING BLOBFISH. Where else can you get nonsense like this? Haha. Basically, Archie McPhee is a novelty store full of some of the most random junk - but fun junk! - you can find. Also? A Rubber Chicken Museum. Because of course there's a Rubber Chicken Museum. All I can say is that you should visit and just expect to go on a bit of a scavenger hunt. Dig around! See what treasures you can find. And if all else fails? The answer is 'handerpants'. Awesome place to visit. This place really cheers you up with the craziest, unusual yet mostly hilarious things. I end up buying things I didn't know I needed! The rubber chicken fascination that Archie McPhee has is legendary along with the finger puppets, figurines, etc. There is always something new at this place. I usually bring my family when going here and we wander around oohhing and awwwwing and typically laughing. We always walk out of here with a smile on our faces. A true Seattle treasure! I'm so glad to see they are still open in spite of the pandemic. Way to go guys! Keep it up!

    proud of it!

Archie McPhee is a legend in the novelty tchotchke world. They're like the Yeti of stuff that you didn't know that you needed...When I was in Seattle it was a must to pay a pilgrimage and step foot in the world of wild, wack and weird...sounds like a poem by Ozzy Osbourne.... The building itself is famous for its wall of wacky murals which is a great place for photos to send for your next Christmas card to all the relatives that you secretly hate and wish that you could trap them in a Stephen King novel... I googled AM's history and it turned out the owner Mark Pahlow started out selling rubber lizards out of his house in LA and the name Archie McPhee is after the owner's wife's great uncle...you gotta love it! There are no rules for building an empire! I have good friends in the area and I always request stuff from here for holidays or birthdays...I love anything from here. One of my favorites are the grab bags that you can buy for $10 and you get a mixture of stuff from squirrel underwear to Antisocial note books to pocket rubber chickens.... you should always carry one so that you can tell the police that "we" were at home watching TV if you are ever asked where you were Wednesday night around 9PM when the neighbor down the street was murdered with a teapot from her cupboard. Perhaps the company's claim to fame is their famous "librarian action figure" which famed librarian Nancy Pearl https://www.nancypearl.com/ posed for...it features a Pearl look alike in a red cape like superman. There is a deluxe edition that makes a "scheeing" sound https://youtu.be/WJdEXb8bRQ0 They also have a famous punching nun puppet that you can get for someone who has it all https://mcphee.com/products/the-punching-nun-puppet. and if that's not enough fun then they have a great podcast called "Less talk and More Monkey" https://mcphee.com/blogs/news/tagged/podcast which among show and tell of their latest and greatest including the hilarious "fake" Archie Mcphee products... "We"....no its not just me and my pocket rubber chicken...I also carry a mouse in my other pocket....anyway we had a lot of fun here and left with a bag full of fun! The staff here are awesome and if you are a tourist they know everything about all the fun places to visit and what is going on around the area..... afterwards we headed down the street to play with some cats at the cat cafe Seattle Meowtropolitian https://goo.gl/maps/VVrAvJH545YNrNKF6

This is the first review I have ever posted to yelp--that is how happy I am with the service provided by the staff of this establishment. Searching for the elusive "Jewish Wisdom Ball" as a humorous gift for my 92 year-old father (who fortunately needs nothing), it was out of stock everywhere, until it showed up on the gift shop website, on sale no less. I placed my order and crossed my fingers. Within 48 hours I received a cheery message wishing me a "Happy Hanukkah", confirming shipping and actually apologizing for not having mailed it faster in the midst of the busy holiday season! I have since had occasion to contact them again and they are always prompt, professional and courteous. The gift shop is in Seattle while I live in Illinois, yet they treat me as though I am an old friend or longtime congregation member who has been walking through their doors often over the years. Based on this positive experience I intend to continue to support them with future purchases where appropriate. They are the sort of people we need more of in the world today and I can't thank them enough for the manner in which they do their jobs.

The downstairs floors have some decent non-food and non-fish stores. Like i.e. there was a bookstore down there, and another selling old music tour and political posters. The sprawling, multi-level marketplace dates back to 1907 and remains one of the oldest, continually operating farmers markets in America. It's narrow arcades are home to dozens of stalls selling everything from candy and cannolis to flowers and jewelry. The main attraction, of course, is the fresh seafood, which arrives every morning from boats trolling nearby Puget Sound. At peak hours, hundreds of tourists crowd around the Pike Place Fish Market, near Pike Place's main entrance, to watch fishmongers toss Salmon, Halibut, Cod and other customer selections from the market floor to the sales counter to be filleted and wrapped. Onlookers clap and cheer as the fish fly through the air, while the mongers politely remind the crowd that they're operating a working seafood market, not a circus. When you're done watching dudes toss fish, take some an hour or two to explore the rest of this massive marketplace. Pike Place has six levels of shops, restaurants, brewpubs and produce stalls across two large buildings that are bisected by a roomy pedestrian plaza with outdoor tables for enjoying a bite when the weather cooperates. The market gets oppressively crowded on weekends, so go early if you can. There are multiple parking decks at the complex and near the waterfront, but if Uber is an option, you'll save the stress of finding a spot. No visit to Seattle is complete without a visit to Pike Place Market. Plan on spending half a day here if you want the full experience, but I found a couple hours to be enough for me. While you're in the area, walk a couple blocks over to Seattle's fabulous waterfront and stroll the pedestrian plaza for some amazing views of Puget Sound. The city's new Overlook Walk pedestrian bridge lets you move between the two without crossing busy Alaskan Way, and makes this area of downtown an incredible destination for tourists and locals alike.

I kind of thought you could buy most essentials at the airport, but it turns out children's shoes are not a typical travel need, at least when they aren't being worn by traveling children. Fireworks did carry children's slippers, which caught my eye as I passed, as well as a nice assortment of unique, crafty toys and gifts. Unfortunately, my five-year-old followed me into the store and zeroed in on a tiny, colorful finger puppet in the shape of a parrot. He asked me to buy it for him, and I declined, telling him we weren't getting a souvenir before we even left the airport. He was upset by this to the point of tears, but I managed to get us out of there. We had a wonderful time in Seattle, and to his credit, the five-year-old behaved well the whole trip (and the two-year-old got new shoes). When I saw Fireworks Gallery again by our departure gate, I decided at the last possible second to stop in and get him the parrot. It was one of several Folkmanis finger puppets in a wire basket. I picked it up along with a bunny rabbit and went to check out. There was a short line at the register--I guess this shop gets decent traffic--and by the time I was up, my husband was calling to tell me we were boarding. This is how I paid $36.36 for two finger puppets that cost $10 apiece online. Fireworks got me good, but my boys do love their little puppets, which are soft and cute and well made. The wares here are definitely nicer and less generic than at your average airport store. It might cost you, though, if you wander in there with your kids.

I rode the glass sided elevator up, and it moved quickly, giving me a preview of the view before I reached the observation deck, which is worth being prepared for if heights give you pause. The observation deck itself has been substantially renovated, and the result is one of the more engaging viewing platforms of any major landmark in the country. I stood on the glass floor section, included with standard admission, and that element gets the most attention for good reason. Standing on clear glass with the city visible directly beneath my feet produced a vertigo that is different from simply looking over a railing. The rotating floor moves slowly and continuously, giving me a full 360 degree view of Seattle over the course of my visit without requiring me to move around the deck. On a clear day the view extends to Mount Rainier, the Olympic Mountains, and Elliott Bay, and the surrounding landscape puts the city in a geographic context that is genuinely striking. Sunset is the most popular time to visit, and the views in that window justify the demand. Buying tickets online in advance and reserving a time slot is effectively necessary during busy periods, and the time slot covers your place in line rather than your exact arrival at the top, so building in some flexibility is sensible. Lines can be long, particularly on weekends, but the operation moved efficiently once I was through the entry process. For an iconic Seattle experience that delivers on its reputation, the Space Needle is worth the trip.
