I only stopped here cause I was running on empty. I was there a bit after 10 am and didn't feel safe. There was a male doing crack on the sidewalk with a big metal rod. When I started pumping gas. He moved into the gas station and started doing crack near me, then he started hitting the metal rod into the ground. I avoided eye contact and pretended I wasn't aware of was going on. This gas station is not that far from Downtown Santa Monica. There are keypads on the top and bottoms of the pumps for better accessibility. Prices are reasonable. Of course they charge 35 cents for debit card use. Yes Arco now accepts credit cards. Be weary of the homeless people that hang out around the gas station. Especially after dark. Still better than going to Beverly Hills paying sky high prices. read more

Every night, at an inconsistent hour, they close up to clean. There's a sign in the door that says it's closed until 3am and It's well after that right now. Whoever oversees this location should watch the surveillance so they can see how much business they are throwing away. Awesome staff! I'm writing this review for a non-yelping friend. He stopped in at this station a few weks ago for gas. What he didn't realize was that he had dropped two checks on the floor in the store. A worker there found them, put a note on them and mailed them back to him. He got them in the mail today. He had such a busy week he hadn't notice they were missing, but would have on Monday when he went to deposit them at the bank. He is very appreciative and thankful to the Arco Gas Station folks who took the time to mail them to him. Way to go!!! read more

2 stars because they had 2 for $4 redbull ad because the cashier was super friendly. 1 star because they don't take credit cards. This wouldn't be a problem, but I've never changed the PIN number on my debit card and have no clue what it is. Ugh. Cashier was friendly and guided me up the street to the shell station that took my debit card minus the PIN number and for $.17 a gallon more. read more

To the people *cough* Yelp Elites *cough* who give this place less than 3 stars. It's a gas station. They don't need to provide restroom services. They give you gas when you pay with certified funds. They're mitigate the price of gas by disallowing Visa or MasterCard from getting their cut. No need to throw a fit....Don't give them bad ratings because you don't have the foresight to have a few bucks on you. Just move on and don't sully this place with your undeserved low ratings. Been there a few times and it's ok. It's cheap if you use cash and if you use a card they add a 35 cent charge and will make it 2nd highest for each type of gas (behind a gas station way up on Wilshire in SM). Last experience was bad- pull up to a pump and went over to pay with cars but ONLY accepts Debit and then tried cash and wouldn't take the money then had to go inside to pay for it. read more

It's a neighborhood station, but they do NOT ONE thing to try to be a better neighbor and most everything in this store is a rip off price wise unless you are talking about the "food" they place in the warmers that isn't fit for human consumption. The worst customer service I have ever encountered at a gas station. I paid for a soda from their soda dispenser, but the soda tasted horrible, so I let them know, and I was nice about it. They "informed" me it was all fine in the back. I told them that if they didn't believe me, to check for themselves and they were beyond patronizing telling me thy didn't have to. So, because I had, already, bought the soda, I grabbed a bottle and asked them to just charge me the difference. They told me I had to pay for the ice! I explained I had ALREADY paid for the cup and the ice. So, they grabbed the cup with ice and charged me the difference. I told them that was horrible customer service and their response was for me to just get my money back. I walked away. I'd rather lose the $1.08 than deal with such rude and unethical people. Lame gas station! What kind of gas station doesn't take credit? It's 2015 what you mean cash or debit only?

I was running low on gas and I mapped it to the nearest arco and the machine at the pump wasnt working so I went inside to pay. I told the attendant that I wanted $20 on number 8. I swiped my card, entered my pin number and got my reciept. I walked to my car and started pumping gas. The gas stopped at $16.81. I kept pressing the pump lever and nothing would come out. I then walked inside and told the attended that the machine stopped and wont let me pump gas. The attendant rudly said "oh go ask that guy outside for help" .. So I walk outside and told the guy that the pump stopped working. I was asked how did i pay and i replied to him debit. The attendant says oh it stopped because you dont have any money in your bank account. I said Im sorry??? I said I have more than enough money to pump gas. He goes, well thats the only reason why it would stop. I said, ummm I beg to differ. He than asked me well when was the last time you checked your bank account???? I was very disturbed with this guys rude remarks. I told him that it was none of his business. Who in their right mind would ask discriminating rude questions or remarks? I said oh I get it, its because Im wearing a sweatsuit outfit and that automatically makes me a person who is poor and has no money to pump gas. ? Are you kidding me. I said you know what i want a reciept with the $16.81 amount and not for the $20 I originally asked for. Im srill in shock by these attendants remarks, there lack of customer service.
