The owner, Larry is a super nice guy and he is very knowledgeable, reasonable and helpful. He was the main reason we hired them to remodel our kitchen, then our basement, our 2nd floor bathroom, our garage and our porch. The only issues with this company is that they lack communication between teams, a lot of the contractors they use make things worse and then they have to bring in someone else to fix those mistakes. But they do it, they fix the mistakes. It might take 6 months for it to get done, but if you nag them enough they eventually get to it. For example; we had them order custom windows and front door for our house. "Custom" means that they measure the opening and order something exactly that size. Well, when our custom windows came, they were all too small, so the contractors just added molding as a space filler. Now they're smaller than the originals. But we were very upset about this, as expected. So, for the last 3 months we've been awaiting the installation of the correct size windows. One great thing is that when they quote you a price, it's very reasonable. You don't get a ton of sticker shock with them. And they tend to stay at or below the quoted price. You just have to stay on top of them, constantly.

We had a fire on Thanksgiving that destroyed our family home. Our insurance company left it up to…read moreus to take care of boarding up the house, which was an impossible task on a long holiday weekend. However, on Black Friday when everyone else was enjoying the holidays LA Design showed up. Within an hour they had the house boarded up and told us, "Don't worry about a thing, we will handle everything." Those words would turn out to be their mantra the entire process of the rebuild. Their knowledge of the insurance process made it possible to secure every penny available to us by our insurance company without issue. Even when we ran into trouble with our bank issuing funds, they did not stop work like other companies would have for non-payment. LA Design kept working and knew exactly how to handle the situation. They just went above and beyond for everything. The work that they do is outstanding. They are true craftsmen and employ some of the best workers around. The house they built for us is truly beautiful and we couldn't say enough about it. During the construction we rented a house nearby, allowing us to stop in at any time to check on the progress and nearly every time Larry Jr. or Larry Sr. were on site. In the rare chance they were not there, if we called with questions they would make it a priority to stop by. Larry Jr. and Larry Sr. didn't see this as constructing just a house for us, but building our home. They understood the pain we were going through and actually listened to everything we had to say. They were humble, caring and had a great sense of humor, making the entire process a lot easier than it could have been. You hear horror stories about contractors, and this was quite the opposite. They actually offered a great alternative to the stucco which not only looks better but will hold up against the elements much better in years to come. Flood remediation? Save yourself a lot of trouble and headaches, find a reputable company. I had…read morethe misfortune of selecting this company to do renovations in my condo that had experienced a devastating flood. Thinking there would be some economy of scale to the work, I had LA Design undertake a kitchen and master bath remodel with the remediation. The only thing this company does promptly is issue invoices. The work took 7 months to complete -- 4 more months than promised. The remediation and renovation work was terrible. Most of the kitchen cabinets were measured incorrectly and had to be re-ordered and re-installed. The brand new flooring throughout the 900 sq ft apartment was the first project completed and was, despite my repeated pleas to protect the flooring, significantly damaged with deep gouges, chips and paint splatter after being exposed to months of exposure to tools, appliances, trash and careless laborers. The living room was painted in 3 different shades of white as every day laborer and painter would just buy the white paint that was most convenient for them to pick up in the morning on their way to the job. The kitchen cabinets were never "finished" -- trim was left raw and unpainted. The plumbing work was performed with a degree of outstanding incompetence. All of the walls and ceilings that needed to be replaced due to the flood were installed with a staggering degree of sloppiness. The building maintenance team at Riva Pointe was staggered by the monumental incompetence of this company. Worst experience with a contractor -- EVER.

We've used LA before, but this time they truly outdid themselves, so I had to leave a review. After…read morebeing left in a lurch with a sketchy contractor (trying to save money), I had cabinets, a floor plan, most parts and a window order in and waiting (with cabinets in the garage!) so we were panicking. Larry Sr came over the same day as we called to assess and give us a quote. Not only was it reasonable, but was able to use our original timeline to get everything done. Not to mention it was all done faster than the original contractor told us too. The original team was 2 guys, told us it would take 15K over our budget and over 6+ weeks. LA came in just on budget and got everything done in 13 business days. The guys they have are incredibly attentive to detail and were willing to go back in and fix up anything that was slightly off too. We also had to pivot a few minor things because the original floor plan ended up not being ideal and Larry's guys made it all happen, listening to us, making sure we felt heard and were not stressed. We are absolutely in love with the final result. While construction is definitely always stressful, LA helped reduce that as much as possible and we can't wait to use them again soon.

I told the guy behind the counter I'm interested in the Yale Real Living lock with the Wi-Fi remote option. He quickly said we don't have that, and mumbled something else. When I asked him if he knew what lock I was was talking about he said yeah, we just don't carry that one. I asked him if he could get it and: Do you know how much it is installed? How long might it take to get? All questions went unanswered and he said let me take your number and I'll call you back. Two weeks later, I decided to stop back. Each time I went, the doors were locked and the hands on the plastic clock were pointed to an hour from then. Eventually I made it back there and caught him actually at work. I was The same guy told me I must've given my number to someone else, and that he didn't take it. He was wrong. It was HIM. And it was him that never called me back. At this point I feel like I feel like this guy just doesn't want my money. Then he answers the phone in the middle of our conversation and continues to stay on the phone despite the fact that I already waited about 10 minutes for the previous customer to finish and leave. Then he hangs up and asks for my number again and says let me find out what I can do. I left my number chuckling as I read the numbers aloud. That was about a month ago. He should be calling me back any day now, right? Haha DO NOT USE MONACO LOCKS.

EDIT AS OF 8/22/18: they did NOT fix the issue like they said in the comment- they replaced my expensive embroidered black out curtain that i paid over $1000 for with a cheap blind AND on top of that made me pay for the motor for the blind- so they REFUSED to replace what they ruined with something equal. DONT EVER USE THEM. On top of that I paid $50 for a service call (same day they came to install the initial blind in my babys room, so they didnt even have to come out here separately), to fix my remote living room blind that wasnt going up properly. A month later it stopped working again, and they will NOT come out here to fix again even though i paid them $50 a month prior saying its not their responsibility. If you fixed it right the first time for the $50 fee then I wouldn't have had another problem!
