Arctic Cold Caps charged my card $4,000 without authorization, even though I cancelled the service before anything was shipped or received. Despite multiple calls, I still haven't received a refund. Whenever I reach out, I'm told the "office is closed," no matter the day or time. They claim to close around 3 or 4 p.m., yet someone named Ciro, the representative I originally spoke to, answers on weekends and keeps giving me the runaround instead of resolving the issue. Predatory company that takes advantage of people fighting cancer. I have never written a negative review before, but I am doing so to look out for other cancer patients. Do not get ripped off by this company like I did. I found Arctic Cold Caps through Google, and called a representative. He told me that I would need a caregiver to help me use the system. My senior citizen mother is my caregiver, which I told the representative. He charged me the minimum of two months (close to $750) and sent out the system immediately. He told me I would need to get dry ice the day before getting chemo, but never mentioned I would need 50 POUNDS of dry ice. Then they emailed me a lengthy contract to sign. I read and signed the contract. Nowhere in the contract did it state I would need 50 pounds of dry ice. Only after signing the contract did I learn when they sent me the instructions that I would need to be able to lift 50 pounds of dry ice plus the 35 pound cooler. I can't lift 85 pounds as I am undergoing chemotherapy. Most cancer patients can't lift and transport an 85 pound cooler. My mother can't lift 85 pounds. I sent Arctic Cold Caps an email requesting a refund based on the fact that there would be no way for me to get the system into and out of the car and into the chemo suite. They refuse to refund any of my money. I sent the cold cap system back unopened, which cost me $120 in postage. In total, I am out close to $900 because they were not up front in telling me the amount of weight the cooler and ice would be--85 pounds. They leave this information out intentionally as few people can lift that amount of weight while undergoing treatment. Had they just been upfront, I would have realized it would be impossible for me to use the system, and I wouldn't be out close to $900. That is close to $900 I could have spent on gas to the hospital, hospital meals, hospital parking, nutritional supplements, a wig, or getting a housekeeper a few times while I am undergoing chemotherapy. I could have gone out to dinner with my family several times and made happy memories. Had they been willing to at least refund one month, or about $375, I would have been grateful. But once this company has your money, they have no concern or empathy for their clients who are fighting for their lives and may well be at the end of their lives. I took a risk in trying cold caps. The other leading brand was a little too expensive and required you to hire someone to do it for you. With this company, you can have a friend or family member help you. I am happy to report that with after 6 rounds of chemo (TCPH) I still had my hair! I know it doesn't work for everyone, but I was so happy I went for it. I was 32 with 2 small kids and I feel the benefits went beyond just aesthetics. Not losing my hair made me feel less like a cancer patient. I didn't look sick so going to the market, picking up my kids and other day-to-day tasks were easier, I believe. I think half of beating cancer is your mental attitude, and not losing my hair helped with that. Plus my kids didn't even know I had cancer. Some tips: -Make sure you have some time before your first round to practice with the caps and ensure you have all the materials ready to go. -Get the dry ice the night before -Bring two scarves and tie them around the caps to ensure proper contact with the scalp -Try and have two people help. It is a bit stressful and you have to get the timing just right. You need to be very precise for this to work. We even changed the caps every 18 min instead if 20, just to be safe. -After you are done with treatment, look into using castor oil on your scalp. It prevents hair loss. Once I started this, I stopped shedding completely. I wish I would have tried it during treatment. -Be prepared to lose some hair. I lost about 40%, but no one else could tell but me. read more

The drug Taxotere is very hard on your hair and causes hair loss. Up to 10% of the time your hair may not ever grow back. Actually the Breast oncologist said I would definitely lose my hair. I didn't! Using Arctic, after four rounds of T/C I still have 90% of my hair. Never had to wear the wig I bought, nor a hair piece or even a hair band. I'm so grateful and blessed to be able to maintain some normalcy during this challenging journey. I want to add that every time I called the company, I got a response and help. Predators of a company that is suppose to helping chemo patients. I bought this for mother in law who was going to start chemo in about a week but as soon as we placed the ordered we found that she does not need chemo anymore. They said the cancer is treatable with immune therapy which is less toxic to the body! This would be considered good news to most people but not to Artic Cold Caps! We asked them to cancel the order and were unable to. I called to see how we can return the unused caps. They told us to return the caps and we would get our money back. We literally returned the unopened box within 12 hours of receiving the items. They still have not returned our money and its been over 2 months. I have emailed them and called them multiple times asking for a refund and they are unwilling to listen to us and our special circumstance. They are predators and deserve no good applause for their work. Most companies that are there to help people would have refunded our money back right away knowing a poor patient might actually not their services especially when they are in business suppose to helping and caring for cancer patients. read more

I just finished my 12th round of Chemo. I still have my hair!! (about 85%) Please know you can do this alone! After my 6th treatment, the Covid-19 reared it's ugly head and my husband could not come up to the treatment room any longer. I was able to do it myself!! It's take a bit longer but after a little practice you can be a "pro", I looked at my artic cold caps as part of my treatment . The product is wonderful and so is the customer service. I too checked out the other companies, this was the most reasonable. I am 67 and very VERY happy to still have my hair. PREDATORY COMPANY. DO NOT FALL IN THE TRAP! My wife ordered the Artic Cold Caps at the end of October as she was terrified of loosing her hair with the chemo she was to begin. She called and spoke to the sales lady, of course, all she was hoping was this would help her. Unfortunately, this system does not work, it has way too many pitfalls, the instructions are not only not clear, but they lack important information, like the need to have the hair wet during the treatment. when you try to call them for info, they have a very poor response system. You have to change the caps every 15 minutes (Our treatment required 4 hours of chemo, that meant she had to wear the caps for about eight hours in total) I followed all the instructions to the letter, and I am not so stupid (I am a physician) It was clear after that treatment there had to be something better, so we decided to return them. The treatment did not work at all. They had charged my wife's credit card $2,300 when they sent them as there was a deposit, and they were to charge about $450 per month. Today my wife called about the refund because they received the caps back about two weeks ago. They said it would take a month for the refund and they charged $900 for the treatment because there was a two month minimum supposedly in the contract?. This is my take, these people are predators, they take advantage of those who are horrified of what is coming with chemo and their medical condition. They know their system does not work, those caps are reused, braking apart, very cheap technology that must cost a few dollars to make. Its all profit. I used the cold cap for my three chemotherapy sessions and it did not work so well for me. Although I followed the directions to a T, by the end of the third chemo session, my hair was about 50 percent gone, so I shaved my head at that point. I noticed that the caps get very misshapen and it is very important that the caps connect to your head, and that was difficult to manage as the caps did not adhere to the head and had to be pushed down onto the head. Also, the thermometer was very accurate on everything that we pointed it at, with the exception of the caps and then it was all over the place. For me, it was a lot of expense and hard work for a disappointing end. read more
