I sent a message via Yelp on a Sunday night and they immediately scheduled our oven troubleshooting for Monday afternoon. Their front office staff is incredibly responsive! George (technician) arrived timely and was very thorough. He explained things to me every step of the way. He is approaching this very methodically - ok, so it's not the igniter, let's look at the next link in the chain... I saw George called out by name in other Yelp reviews, and I understand why he comes so highly recommended! He called the manufacturer to discuss his findings, but the manufacturer tech team wasn't available. He let me know he would be calling them again in the morning and that he would reach out to me with an update. I've had plenty of negative or so-so experiences with other service technicians from other companies. This experience with George / Astera is so positive that I'm posting my review even before the service is completed. Astera will be getting first crack at all of my appliance and HVAC service calls going forward.

As a result we slightly corrected his initial standard proposal to better fit my not quite standard case. His price was sure better than those big companies estimated. After being a customer of Allied Air Conditioning and Heating Corp. for 37 years and watching deterioration of service level there as well as a price increase I'm switching to ThermPro Heating and Cooling on a permanent base for all my HVAC needs. I can see that here you can talk it through and find solution (possibly even not a standard one) that will fit your needs and checkbook. Corporate America does not operate this way (it just cannot) - they have a set of rules and some company standards that they have to be within, but I, as a customer, do not care about. This company is GREAT! After another company replaced my furnace and messed it up by miss matching…read morethe plenum size and furnace I got McHenry to do it. The other furnace was crap and only lasted a year before the blower failed (because of the pressure miss match caused by the plenum mismatch). They replaced the furnace with a good one, AND got it up off the floor like it SHOULD have been. In addition to correcting the plenum, they put a NEW and correct filter housing on it. That doesn't seem like a big thing except the prior company had some dummy install a filter housing with the screws facing IN to the slot where the filter sits making it a real pain to replace. So ya, I definitely recommend them.

My household had been dealing with a broken air conditioner for too many weeks when the home appliance warranty service I go thru assigned Chad to my account. And, all I will say is I ended up telling the warranty place to assign only this company to my account going forward for any HVAC services I may need in the future. Although the warranty company had both Chad and I jumping thru hoops to finally get the air conditioner running again, I have no doubts at all the process would have been even more agonizing if I had to work with anyone else. Hell, Chad and his son even fixed some warped boards on my back deck while they waited on the coolant to drain from my overcharged A/C the previously assigned HVAC company had done. Talk about mind-blowing! Want to be transparent in this review, though.
