My dog has been going to Arctic Tails since she was a puppy. She loves it soooo much. The staff love her too! They regularly share updates on her day, report cards, photos and videos about her day. They practice some basic training skills and have lots of play time. They also offer advantix, teeth cleaning, nail trimming, etc. So it's great that she can have that all done while she's at school. The same staff have been there for a while so it's nice to see the employees are treated well and make a decent wage. read more

This review is for daycare and boarding, not grooming. We started bringing our puppy here at 4.5 months old. He had an evaluation to make sure he'd be a good fit and then I toured the facility. The place is spacious, clean, and hosts a lot of dogs! The staff are all also super friendly. They require spay/neuter after 6 months and for pets to be treated for flea + tick. Our pup loves going for daycare and is always super excited with the staff, toys and other dogs. He's usually pooped when we get him back whether he was there for 3 hours or a full day! We've boarded him a couple times as well and he's never had an issue. He sleeps well and plays like it's a second home. There is also food at the facility if for whatever reason you're not able to provide it, like when we ended up having to board him an extra night over the weekend and weren't able to get the extra food over. Circling back to the tour, I like how they have different boarding options depending on what you feel your pets needs are for good prices. They also separate the big dogs and little dogs, which can put a lot of people at ease. There are also staff present all the time so that the dogs have attention. The passes are also super nifty! There are different price discounts depending on how many you choose to by, for full or half days. Having a puppy, sometimes 2 full time working parents need just a bit of relief! And so we've realized that we love having him be able to go here to socialize and get some energy out when we're not able to give him the full attention he requires. So we've actually taken him more than we initially thought we would, and it's totally worth it. read more

We've loved Arctic Tails for years but things seem chaotic and unorganized since the owners have been gone. A lot of noise, shouting and loud rock music in the classrooms that seem to make the dogs antsy. My pup has been hesitant to go lately. Hopefully the owners return soon. read more

Going out of town and leaving my best friend Kyra behind WAS probably the biggest stressor in my life until I discovered Arctic Tails. I travel a lot for work on the North Slope and it's hard to be away from my pup for weeks at a time but I know she is happy, healthy and safe when she is staying at Arctic Tails. The owners and staff are very friendly, informative and accommodating to my crazy schedule. The facility is spacious and very clean. Kyra is always happy when I come to pick her up and I can rest easy knowing my best friend is being well cared for while I'm away. TLDR: They gave my dog to a different person. We have been going to Arctic Tails twice a week for several weeks. When I went to pick up my black lab, I was offered a different dog. 3 times. After about 15 minutes, Ben came to assist in finding my dog and I was told they had accidentally given him to another owner. While I was waiting, another woman came to pick up her dog. She specified name and breed. A different dog (different breed, same name) was brought out. When filling out the contracts for daycare, a list of persons authorized to pick up the dogs was required. Seeing as the staffers on duty did not know which dog was which, I doubt they knew on sight the persons authorized to pick up the dogs. The reason this happened, I was told, is that there were 5 different black labs at daycare that day. I was also told that the staffers working were all new. In my opinion: if you cannot tell the difference between different dogs of the same color and breed, you should not be running a doggy daycare. When they told me the other owner took my dog and had mentioned they had a vet appointment, I told them to call the vet since they had not had any luck contacting the other owner. The vet was able to get the message that they had the wrong dog. The idea that my dog could have received medical treatment for a different animal, run away, gotten into an accident, bit the other person or any number of other incidents makes me very upset. I spoke to Ben the next day (after taking a moment to collect my thoughts) and, while apologetic, he did not seem to have a plan to prevent this type of incident from occurring in the future. I was offered, and accepted a refund for the days remaining on our pass. read more

So I am updating my previous review. Arctic Tails is under new ownership since my last review was written and the new owners reached out to me to express their concern with my past experience, explained new protocols they have in place to keep the pups healthy and offered a tour of the facilities. I have since then had to board my little Eska girl and had an excellent experience. The dogs that are boarded get a full day of doggy daycare with the boarding experience so there is a lot of socialization and exercise under the watchful eye of the well trained staff. They take care of any special needs your pup may have like a special food regimen and even medications. I called to check in on her and the staff was pleasant and happy to hear from me. When I went to pick her up they had freshly laundered her bed and blanket and gave me a full update on how she was doing. All in all i am pleased with my recent experience and would absolutely recommend this business to others! read more

Best place ever for your fur babies! The owners and all staff members are dog lovers and show your dog kindness, compassion and love. They provide learning activities and playtime for your pup. My dog comes home happy and tired from a day being in this positive environment after spending time in a safe and secure place with his playmates. I have yet to board my dog there as I don't get to travel much but definitely will when I get time away from home. Our black lab puppy has been going here for months! He absolutely LOVES IT. I'm not kidding when I say he jumps out of the car and heads straight inside. Not only is he exhausted from playing all day, he also gets the care and nurture he needs. Sierra and Ben really do love all the dogs they take care of. They're always excited to see our pup and anyone else who walks in the door. I can't recommend this place enough. Last but not least they keep the facility immaculate. ARCTIC TAILS 5 reasons why we won't be back to this facility. #1 You did not honor my appointment , which was your mistake. After apologizing numerous times , you told me I could leave my canine here & that he would be ready by 1pm. The professional response would have been to shift the current client you mistakenly booked & take my dog right there on the spot. #2 You admitted my pet & told me he would be ready by 1pm . I drove back at 3pm & he had not even been seen yet. You told me to come back in an hour & a half. #3. The woman who gave me this information apologized on & on . While we were having a conversation the phone rang. The woman went to answer it & instead of asking the caller to be put on hold , she talked to her for almost 5 minutes. ( This customer was complaing also ). When the phone conversation ended , I told her how un-professional & rude that was . #4. The waiting room had no furniture . Maybe they don't want you to hang around while they work. The employees did not have either name tags or company shirts . How do know who you're talking to ? #5. The groomer lacked experience . The cut was too short . There were small cuts & niks on my pet's head & rear. I came back to this facility from a year ago because we had a great experience . New owners & staff have ruined that. It was a quick ordeal. Originally, I made a reservation in advance for two pups to get washed and brushed, though one required a cut so the appointment was set a couple of weeks into the future. When that pup no longer required a cut I changed the appointment for just one to get cleaned up and was able to get her in a couple of days. I dropped her off that morning a little after 7:15 as I went to the old location (thanks Yelp) and was called to pick her up a couple of hours later. She was freshly laundered and brushed, with perfectly trimmed nails, and all for $45. I noticed on the website stated teeth brushing but that didn't happen; she still had hot mouldering carcass breath. Front desk people were pretty nice, and there was this bug eyed pug in the waiting area that was funny to look at. All in all, I would bring my pooch again. read more

Our pup loves going to doggie day care at Arctic Tails and they have come to love her as well. She attends the day care program and is quite sleepy when she gets home which is just fine with me. When I am out of town I feel comfortable leaving her with her bed, toys, treat, food and everything else knowing it will all be waiting, less the food and treats, for me when I pick her up. We have been boarding our dogs here for about two years now. We have always had a great experience and our two fur babies LOVE staying here. This past time one of our dogs had a issues with his paw and the staff at artic tails went above and beyond to get him to a vet and communicated everything that was going on with me, even though I was thousands of miles away. Artic Tails completely put mind mind at ease. I will never board my pups anywhere else, they treated us like family. I can not recommend them more. If I could give more then 5 stars I would. I really like this place. They were very kind to our families elderly dog and even allowed him to walk around, instead of being caged after grooming. They were extremely nice to him and for that I'll always grateful. The receptionists are friendly. The only real issue I have with them is lack of consistency. They are always changing groomers, and can't seem to keep one on. I would bring my dog more often but they don't always have a groomer, and the ones they have had vary. The first one I liked and the second one I dealt with I didn't care for as much. If they find a groomer who's decent and sticks around, I would definitely bring my dog back again! read more
