Carmichael was where I called home for about 4 years and really loved living here it's a pretty quite town for the most part. There Carmichael Park which has a nice sized dog park and nice sized tennis courts and every Sunday where you can enjoy the Farmers Market. There are also small neighborhood park like Jan Dr Park, Gibbons park and Maddox Park. There and nice shopping centers and nice family owned Restaurants around and one of my favorite coffee shops Boulevard Coffee and now they have a Dutch Bros! There also the La Sierra community center for activities and many classes for Adults as well as for the kiddos too! They also do the 4th of July Fireworks show nearby as well. Most people just watch from the Big Lots Parking lot located on Fair Oaks Blvd and Engle Rd. There are plenty of schools like: Carmichael Elementary Cameron ranch Elementary Mary A Deterding Elementary Coyle Ave Elementary Starr King Elementary Mission Elementary Winston Churchill Middle School John Barrett Middle School Roy Rogers middle School Del campo High school located in Fair Oaks. Mira Loma High School located in Sacramento - Arden Arcade El Camino High school located in Sacramento - Arden Arcade Rio Americano High school located in Sacramento - Arden Arcade Since, Carmichael has no actual Public High School. And a few Private schools like Jesuit as well. If you enjoy nature there's Ancil Hoffman park it absolutely beautiful let me tell you. Carmichael has so much to offer where you live here or not. There is so much to appreciate about Carmichael. Grocery shopping you have, Bel- Air, Raley's and Safeway. There a Home Depot and Walmart Neighborhood Market and a Petsmart! There are also, little Mom & Pop businesses as well!

I was craving the eggplant parmigiana and was told the eggplants had been delivered to the owners home and therefore, was not available. Funny! Interesting note - they offer cauliflower crust pizza- a must try next time. Enjoy!

I've been to Italy--including Sicily--more times than most people have left California, and my…read morepartner even holds an Italian birth certificate. With that context, we don't take Italian food lightly. That's exactly why Ippolito's Trattoria stands out. Nick, the owner, is there seven days a week. Whether he's running the kitchen like a true master or walking the dining room checking in with guests, his presence is constant. His wife is often by his side, and together they've built something that feels less like a restaurant and more like a family. The staff reflects that--welcoming, attentive, and genuinely warm. Now, the food. The chicken parmigiana is massive--easily two meals--and executed perfectly. The chicken is tender, well-seasoned, and balanced. We usually start with calamari or a shared salad, both consistently excellent. I'm especially particular about carbonara, and this is the only place in Sacramento that truly gets it right. No shortcuts. No cream. No smoked bacon. They respect the tradition--using proper ingredients like guanciale or pancetta and incorporating the egg the way it's meant to be. It's easily the best carbonara I've had in years. The arancini are another highlight. If you've ever made them at home, you know the effort involved--this is the real deal. Crispy outside, rich and flavorful inside, and absolutely authentic. The bread is baked fresh daily by Nick, and it shows. The pasta is artisan-quality, also made fresh, and sourced from a trusted local partner. Every detail reflects care and intention. Dessert is not an afterthought here. The tiramisu--made in-house--is flawless. And the cannoli? Outstanding. The shells have the perfect crunch, and the fillings are rich without being overpowering. Even the pizzelle cookies are done right. It's no surprise they've earned recognition, including: Best Italian Restaurant in Sacramento Best Restaurant Overall in Sacramento Beyond the food, Nick is active in the community and gives back, which only adds to the experience. We've enjoyed this place so much that we've chosen them to cater my 60th birthday for 20 very discerning Italian family members--many of whom we've already brought here, all with the same glowing reactions. If there's any criticism to address, it's usually from people saying the food isn't salty or herb-heavy enough. That misses the point. This is balanced, authentic cooking--where ingredients shine without being masked. I've been to Papa Gianni's in Cameron Park dozens of times over the years, and it's a great spot. But when it comes to the Sacramento region, Ippolito's Trattoria is my go-to, without question.

I mean, this event put together by Macy's and Yelp was meant for family time. Alas, since I didn't feel like borrowing anyone's offspring, and drive-in movies aren't my gig, I'll be honest and say I drove all the way out to 50 & Bradshaw from Natomas to claim my Yelp Elite "Macy's Great American Drive In" goodie bag. So, I got there at about 6pm (gates didn't open until 6:30pm), and I was third in line. Gates opened promptly on time, and my Yelp Elite ticket got me my goodie bag. My haul included what's pictured in the avatar for this event: Macy's Great American Drive In canvas bag, frisbee, light-up yo-yo, and light-up ring, along with a Macy's savings pass, a bag of Cracker Jacks, and a cool Macy's blanket. And, gosh, can't forget the $10 Macy's gift card! Quite the haul, and totally worth the drive from Natomas :) I did park for a bit, and noticed a nice bouncy-house thing being utilized by multiple kiddies. Also saw that a few food trucks were there: Smoothie Patrol, OMG Burger, and OM Karmabile. If I wasn't already stuffed from eating at Krush Burger earlier, I would have partaken in one of those offerings, but it was nice that they were there. All in all, this event was nicely done. Though I didn't stick around, I'm sure those that made it a family night out made the most of it. :)

Needless to say all our meals were very well made and you can tell the ingredients are farm to fork. Ambiance was great, it was the perfect spot for date night in the evening. We tried five different places that she chose based on the group's preferences. We had a cocktail, a coffee drink, a dessert, and a few different dishes from midtown restaurants. I never felt full (the F word!) but I was happily satisfied at the end. I had never eaten at any of these places so now I know more great places to try. Dawnie has an amazing depth of knowledge about the area, the food scene, and the history of our Farm to Fork capital. She loves the city and it shows in how she highlights it in her tour. The biggest surprise for me was the street art. I had never noticed these murals nor did I realize we had a history of street art and unique festivals. I will definitely be checking those out more in the future! I hope to do more of their tours and explore other parts of the city in the future!
