I decided that I wanted that flamenco dancer sketched on my wall too so I researched for mural painters in the Roseville area and found Robert Lindsey. His mural pictures of Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra looked true to form. We did a quick photo shoot and he replaced the face of the flamenco dancer with my own and the results and his work came out absolutely wonderful! I love my mural and recommend his artistry for anyone who is looking for a design or something different. He is the nicest, easy going professional I have ever worked with. He is the best!

Moreover, I thought driving through Downtown Woodland would be the scenic route since, I never drove through the Business District. Surprisingly, I really thought Woodland CA would be a city as historically quaint as Virginia City, Nevada but, Woodland doesn't possess too many old buildings per city block. My POV: Woodland, California is a quaint and peaceful city nestled in the heart of Northern California's Central Valley region but, has a bustling vibe and more people per square foot than Virginia City NV.

In search of a place to rest the eve of my flight out of SMF, I found this city. By the way, I clocked the drive and you can get into the airport premises from the Main Street/I5 entrance in 10 minutes flat. No speeding, No Traffic.... Now, back to the Woodland: 1. great eateries with small town values 2. parking plentiful 3. clean decent hotels and inns around to stay 4. close to Davis. 5. easy on/off the freeway (#15) I've stayed in the Woodland enough times for overnighters that I can safely say you are in a great little town. My next task is to schedule a visit to the Woodland when they have some fun activity (Like the Honey Festival) If you're in their neck of the woods, I suggest a stop.

I did feel that $40 was a bit pricy though and the layout didn't seem to match the "maps" they gave us. I went with a group for friend it it got pretty crowded. It would have been nice if they spaced it out more, that way you could actually talk to some of the representatives about their beers. I thought there was a pretty decent diversity of beers and everyone there (not just the vendors) seemed really friendly, all trying to have a good time! You get small cups to sample with when you get in and there are buckets all around if you want to sip and dump. I recommend that you bring a salty snack like a pretzel necklace, jerky, or some smokehouse almond (what I brought) to cleanse your palate. If you want to check out some new beers and don't mind paying a tad bit more, check this event out!

The free shuttle that picked up blocks from my house was a really nice touch. That was a GREAT idea that should be replicated, and a huge thank you is deserved for whoever paid to supply those shuttles. Very nice and important touch. At first it was disappointing that the home and garden show took up the front gate, and our entrance was off to the far end of Cal Expo. Getting there at 2pm when the beer-only gates opened, we had to wait in a huge line for about 15 minutes. But it was to be expected, and I have no complaints about that. We were given a generic plastic cup when we entered. Every other event similar to this one has always made their own cups/mugs, but this event clearly hit up Smart & Final. I liked how the food trucks were all lined up, kinda funneling us into the big building for the beer tasting. It was a nice foreshadowing for when I was to stumble out later. This year's event was held in the same building that houses all the livestock during the State Fair. At first, it had a manure scent when entering the building. But that was soon replaced by the godly smell of beer! We got a map of all the vendors and basically just dived right in. Ruhstaller had one of the longest lines, and some of the best beers. My favorite beer right now is probably Trumer, and I was glad to see them. They were very low key, serving their one brew out of a red cooler and hidden between bigger breweries. But I still stopped by at least three times. Anchor brewery ran out very quickly, I believe about an hour after the doors opened for us. I could understand running out a few minutes before closing, but two hours is quite excessive. Nothing beats fried food after drinking, and those food trucks really hit the spot after wards. I remember drunkenly rambling to Adam P. about how he shouldn't have gotten kicked off The Taste, but I do not remember what I ate. Good times.

Carmichael was where I called home for about 4 years and really loved living here it's a pretty quite town for the most part. There Carmichael Park which has a nice sized dog park and nice sized tennis courts and every Sunday where you can enjoy the Farmers Market. There are also small neighborhood park like Jan Dr Park, Gibbons park and Maddox Park. There and nice shopping centers and nice family owned Restaurants around and one of my favorite coffee shops Boulevard Coffee and now they have a Dutch Bros! There also the La Sierra community center for activities and many classes for Adults as well as for the kiddos too! They also do the 4th of July Fireworks show nearby as well. Most people just watch from the Big Lots Parking lot located on Fair Oaks Blvd and Engle Rd. There are plenty of schools like: Carmichael Elementary Cameron ranch Elementary Mary A Deterding Elementary Coyle Ave Elementary Starr King Elementary Mission Elementary Winston Churchill Middle School John Barrett Middle School Roy Rogers middle School Del campo High school located in Fair Oaks. Mira Loma High School located in Sacramento - Arden Arcade El Camino High school located in Sacramento - Arden Arcade Rio Americano High school located in Sacramento - Arden Arcade Since, Carmichael has no actual Public High School. Vibe Well When I'm…read moregoing out on a second saturday i am looking forward to see what NEW art is fabulous! I love to see all kinds or art such as handmade items, or spray paint, or paintings or even photography galleries. I was looking forward to the fire dancing performances! that i have heard people mentioning about. I always stay positive and just be careful of my surroundings when i am attending 2nd saturday. Also starting time is around 6 ish 7 to 9pm for art galleries and most events. Sometimes there are street vendors selling some handmade art work such as ties, or jewelry, and etc, that you might find amazing! Parking It can be a hassle since it is always crowded everywhere on Second Saturday. Just park new 16 j and k street is your best bet. Yes you will have to do some walking, so wear some comfortable walking shoe. Location Artwork! Yes lots of local artists on the streets performing, or artwork inside galleries! Mostly on J and k Street and in the 16th street to the 20's and a few outskirts such as old sac or in east sac as well. One thing i found most interesting and entertaining is Fire Dancing ! its on 17th and K. The name of the place to be exact is Hot pot Dancing! i know the name of the place makes me hungry, seems like we are going to have some hot pot or fondue. But yes this place do offer dance classes where you dance with fire. I gave this performance a 5 out of 5! There were multiple performers with guys and gals. A few of them used a hula hoop with fire around it. One was holding a stick with fire on both ends. As well some swinging instrument with fires on both ends. Just gazing into their foot steps and all that body and hip movements and bright fire was just speechless talented! i felt intense and just makes me want to take a class and perform in a few weeks haha. One complaint about the Hot pot fire dancing is the area smells so bad every time, the smell makes it a bit more less enjoyable. I mean it smells like poo or more like dog poo. There is always a big crowd watching the amazing performances. There are a few art galleries nearby and yes most galleries do sell arts. I know its not cheap and are expensive! you pay for what you get. Bring that card out and be ready to swipe! CAMERAS! Some galleries are not friendly with cameras. They have copy right and don't want photographs. If your a picture person, you are more than welcome to take pictures of street performers, just watch out for the flash since it can distract performers. If your wanting to DANCE, well here is some suggestions.... I think on second saturday, they have sponsors such as low brau and getta clue, the alley between and k and 20th is blocked off for some live band performances with a stage. It felt like i was going to a concert, and yes its FREE! The Stage did play some music which were more indie and did have some mixed hip hop beats in it as well. They did have like guitarist to throw in some rock! As well lots of electronic soft music. I had a good time dancing and boogie away. Yes the famous Kenny the dancing machine was there to encourage everyone to dance. I swear Kenny is always at the best events to dance at. Some suggestions i like to do on second saturday is go out for dinner around 6pm. After dinner go walk around midtown and walk off the calories. Then ending up at some galleries, then end up dancing the night away. I always enjoy myself with a few friends and have a blast.

Best word to describe this event is meager. Best location was the art Co-op behind Bambie restaurant on I street at 17th. There was a variety of tiny size studios there with a few of the artists in attendance. I had some fun conversations with them. Did this art walk once. Check it off the bucket list. No need to repeat.
