Terrible pizza today. I called and asked for the company email to send pictures, he said they didn't have one. I dm'd on Instagram with no response.

    All meat pizza. Yummy!

Came in on a Saturday around noon. Brought some new friends (they are Italian from New York). We wanted them to try out the amazing pizza we found here. Ordered a margarita pizza, the guiseppe special, a house salad and half chef salad. Our server was very attentive and so friendly. The pizza got the thumbs up from our friends. They were highly impressed with the quality ingredients and the tasty crust (our favorite too!). The salads were so fresh, crisp and were full of the extras. Each was more than plenty for two. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant is clean and homey.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Love to come here for the pizza but next time we have to try out the pasta : )

    I need to try this!

Been coming to Romas for decades but haven't been back for a few years and I'm so glad I've returned. Definitely the best red sauce in Sac and quite possibly the best thick crust pizza as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the old charm of this location as well. So unique. So inviting. So nostalgic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Don't ever remodel Romas! The service is always so great here too. They really try to be fast and they are so nice every time we come. You'll probably see people order a side of the pizza sauce to dip their pizza/crust in. I like to mix the red and ranch together a bit. Pizza sauce is a must try!

We got the large size pepperoni pizza, and it had so much pepperoni on it -- it might have been too much. Is that even a thing? My husband went to pick up the pizza in person. He said the customer service was great. Overall, we were satisfied with the pizza, I would say that the pepperoni was a little bit salty though (again maybe because there was just oh so much of it). I love that they gave fresh shaved Parmesan to go! The bread dough was simple, tiny bit tough, but good.

I've been coming here for several years. This is an update to a review I left many years ago. It is still one of the best pizza restaurants in Sacramento. They have a good variety of pizzas and a menu full of items that will please most anyone. The ingredients are fresh and the sauce and pizza crust is delicious! The staff are always so friendly, personable and accommodating. Excellent customer service and delicious food! Thank you Romas for still having great service and food. A++++

My first time and I was very impressed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Decor is dated but the pizza is actually very good![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A medium seemed like a large! The slices were a good size and I LOVE the thick crust!! And I mean it was thick! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was amazed by the traffic of people coming in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] How did I not know this place was here when I passed by every day. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Hopefully they can get an interior change one day, but we're there fornthe pizza and they've got that perfected.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This has always been one of the best pizza places in Sacramento, my mom introduced me to them when I was a kid so I haven't tried them in 20 years, I decided to take my wife and found out they have another location now, so I got the combo special and the pepperoni with the white sauce, my mom use to get pepperoni with the white sauce, so I got half and half and it was so good and filling, real top of the line pizza worth every buck even my kids liked it, and they have nasty taste in pizza lol

    Gnats in our pizza

I am very disappointed with the last experience I had with this location. My birthday was coming up and I dont ever ask for anything. This time, the one and only thing I wanted, was pizza from here. I told my bf a month in advance that this is 100% what I wanted. We ordered the pizza on my birthday, pick it up, get home, set the box on the counter. I open the box, 2 gnats fly out of the box and theres 1 dead one on the pizza. I call and start speaking with Maria. I told her what happened, and she kept insinuating that they came from my car and they dont have flies there. She was very rude and kept telling me that they didn't come from there. I asked to speak to manager and she got loud with me over the phone and said, "IM THE MANAGER, IM ACTUALLY THE OWNER!" I told her for an owner, she was being very rude and I didnt like how she was talking to me. I told her that all my family and a lot of our friends goes there for pizza on birthdays and celebrations and I was going to let them know they shouldn't go there anymore. She tried to apologize, but wasnt genuine. They were making another pizza for us, but after dealing with her being so unprofessional, I called her back and told her we didn't want it, and it was just really gross seeing gnats in our pizza. I told her my name twice, and she still said, "okay susan." For someone who is an owner, who according to the website background, has no business experience, she should have taken some classes on hospitality. I ended up giving them a 2 star because of all the other experiences we've had here. Its sad that its being ran by someone who calls their customers a liar.

If you are anywhere near Sacramento this is a must. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's like walking into your Italian grandmother kitchen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It may be the best pizza I've ever had. All the pasta is made from scratch. I can't say enough good things about this place.

    Mediums mushroom and olive pizza

We love Roma's and have never had a problem with any meal. Last night we took our son to watch the game and ordered two pies. Yhe Pepperoni was fabulous, however, the med mushroom and olive had a badly burned crust! My husband chose not to say anything so as not to ruin a good night out. I obviously would of sent it back. I didn't know about the crust until I decided to reheat lunch today. normally I would give Roma's 5 stars but the burned pizza crust was quite disappointing.

Well we went for dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]they need more lights to brighten up the place so we can see our food[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and [[HIGHLIGHT]]please get new pizza pans ours look like so old it was not setting on the table it was kind of up from the table[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and I ordered a combination and me being Italian I could have made the pizza a lot presentable it look like they just threw it on and could have broken up the sausage instead big pieces well we won't be going back there plus there was alot of new people there

The soup was fire....Pizza toppings were of excellent quality. Pizza dough was a little rough for my liking, but taste wise everything was amazing. The sausage, salami, and black olives on the combination were the stars of the pizza. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is clean and has a very 1980s-1990s restaurant feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not that corporate vibe restaurants offer now.

The location isn't in the best area, but the overall experience makes you forget, as it's a very homey pizza spot with enough seating. I came with a large group & ordered a hefty amount of salads & 5 pizzas. We had a few customizations to our pizzas; they came out piping hot & correct. Our waitress was attentive & friendly. The chef salad was yummy & didn't skimp on the salami, ham, or pepperoncinis. For the pizza crust, it tends to be on the thicker side, so I recommend asking for a thinner crust. They don't skimp on toppings either & the pizza sauce was chef's kiss. Giuseppe Special, All Meat Special, Vegetarian, & Pepperoni were all 10/10

The cheese pizza here is great; it's topped with dollops of ricotta and ribbons of fresh basil. They have a daily special: the Dino slice, which I'll often get as well. Sometimes the toppings are fun (e.g. pickles) and other times more run-of-the-mill (e.g. salami, bell peppers, etc) but I've never been disappointed even when I thought the flavors would be odd. They used to be pretty good about posting on Instagram what was on the Dino slice was, but I don't see it quite as often these days. If you're into saucing up your pizza, you can get ranch or hot honey or Dino sauce. It's been a while since I had the Dino sauce, but I recall it being tangy and cilantro-y with a bit of a spice kick. It sounds a bit different/odd, but I like getting it from time to time. The Dino eggs, from my recollection, are basically pizza dough balls. Mostly bread, which is fine since their bread/pizza crust is great, but I'd rather just stick to the pizza, so I only tried these once. The fries are good. Though, I probably wouldn't order them alongside the pizza unless you're looking for a carb bomb of a meal (which is what I had done the one time I ordered them). They're probably best if you're just looking for a snack to go with your beer & aren't planning on eating a whole bunch of pizza. They're quite good though. Nice and crispy. And it's a pretty big serving size. They have a dozen or so taps of various beers. Some local, some not. And they have a selection of cans and bottles as well. There isn't a ton of inside seating. A half dozen or so tables? And a few bar seats. There's probably more total seats in front and in the outside side patio. There's only street parking & there's lots of small shops nearby, so you might have to take a short walk from your car to get there.

There was SO MUCH pepperoni so get this if that's your thing. The crust and the bread on all of these pizzas was the star. The wait couldn't have been longer than two minutes as we were seated inside fairly quickly. My friend recommended the Bocce Balls, and I wanted to go for something on the menu that was marked as a Paesanos's favorite - I choose the Spaghetti Carbonara. I also asked our waiter if he could put my order on a separate tab up front just so it's easier if he needs to make note of the certain items that needed to be put on a separate tab. The bocce balls came out and there were six of them on a platter. I was surprised because I was expecting them to be soft almost like a garlic knot, but they were a little bit more firm, almost like a fried mac n cheese ball (but with dough inside). This was definitely something that we needed to use a knife to cut with and eat. They tasted buttery and garlicky - you really can't go wrong with bread, butter and garlic. It was fantastic. Then my spaghetti carbonara came out about twenty minutes later. This one was also delicious! It was creamy, cheesy, and had chunks of bacon that worked well with the creaminess of the dish. The serving was also huge - I think I only ate about a fourth of it. It came with a side of bread which I took a bite of and thought it tasted a lot like the bocce balls (flavor wise). My bill's subtotal ended up being $26 ($19 for the carbonara, and $7 for the bocce balls). It was nice that our waiter remembered I wanted a separate check. He said he wasn't sure how whose tab to put the bocce balls on so he just split it in half. I found that to be really considerate! I always try to do what I can to make it easier on the wait staff so I would have happily taken the whole charge, but it was nice to see that he was able to split one dish by two checks. Overall, we ended up spending about 2 hours in the restaurant. I went with friends who I haven't seen in years, so we spent plenty of time catching up. At no point did I feel rushed to leave. It was as night filled with great food, great service, and great company. I'm looking forward to coming back here when I'm in town!
