Best experience with the dentist. Dr Jagpal is amazing and super nice and funny. He explains everything and is knowledgeable about the work he does which is so reassuring. The Dental assistants are always so nice and friendly. The space is confusing but super sleek and pretty and clean. I feel so comfortable here. I explained the worst part of coming to the dentist is the water making me feel like I'm drowning and he has done everything he can to make my visits have less water but still do an amazing and fast job. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I was not the customer but my mother-in law was. They treated her horribly over a span of a few days and I needed to step in because they don't feel like they did anything wrong. I know the conversation the office manager had with her and I didn't even need to be there to know that it was predatory practices. All while the manager had an attitude while talking with me, her admitting to me that it was a lot of information that she discussed with her and being condescending by insinuating that my mother-in-law is not of sound mind and that she feels that my assumption of the conversation was not how it went. This office took advantage of my elderly mother-in-law in an absolutely unacceptable and predatory way. They pressured her into applying for a credit card to pay for dental work without clearly explaining what she was agreeing to -- no itemized list of services rendered, no paperwork outlining what still needed to be done, and no documentation regarding the financing they encouraged her to sign up for, knowingly giving her a lot of information at once. She was made to feel like she had no choice, made to her feel like she might lose all her teeth, and was emotionally backed into a corner. The staff openly admitted to overwhelming her with information, but instead of acting ethically or with compassion -- especially knowing she's on a fixed income -- they pushed forward with what felt like a high-pressure sales tactic. This is not how healthcare professionals should treat anyone, let alone a vulnerable senior. Their priority was clearly getting paid, not patient care. If you're considering this practice, especially for an older loved one, I strongly urge you to be cautious and demand full transparency before agreeing to anything. I am noticing something important that I would like to point out. They have no response to any reviews, good or bad. If they really felt like they wronged someone, a good business usually tries to make it right. They haven't commented on anything at all, which tells me it could be a liability for them and have likely been urged by lawyers not to....DO NOT GO HERE!! read more

They are rude and don't hardly ever answer the phone and when they do they have attitudes especially KANESHA!Dr.Berci was nice when she first started that place but doesn't ever clean your teeth because she says she doesn't have time too do that service for you or says she is going to do it but it never happens! This is a review of Arden Modern Dentistry, located on Marconi Avenue at Fulton. Dr. Berci of AMD has been my dentist for six years now, and I'm very happy with her. I find her skilled, knowledgable, and caring. The office is small and busy, and I always plan for 20-30 minutes in the waiting room--although it's not always that long. To me, the wait means Dr. Berci, or one of her excellent hygienists, has a patient who unexpectedly needed extra time. I'm glad they take that time when it's needed. Because the office is busy, I sometimes have to push for information. However, the moment Dr. Berci or a staff member realizes that I don't understand and need a better explanation, they slow down and make sure I do understand or arrange a time for me to talk further with Dr. Berci. Dr. Berci has arrangements with several specialists, who spend 1-2 days per month at her office. This means that if I need more specialized work or a consultation, I can consult with a specialist and have some oral surgery procedures done at that same office. I see some negative reviews of AMD, but my experience in the Marconi office has been consistently positive. My dental insurance is through an arrangement between Kaiser and Delta Dental, and it's not impressive. Many of the dentists listed have poor reviews. It took considerable time, but I was so very happy to finally find such a caring dentist as Dr. Berci (and her good staff) available through my insurance. They lie and want money and will say anything to get it. They charged me for things my insurance pays for. Last visit. I waited with my 16 son for an hour which left me time to see the front office and how stressful and unprofessional it is. An assistant came to the front and torn everyone at the desk a new one even making one girl sob. Then while overhearing a lady sitting next to us after came from her appointment said " I have never felt pain like that before" and the oral surgeon didn't want to hear it. She said I already paid them 5000 dollars and now they want more. When my son goes in for an annual cleaning and x-rays Dr. Berci told us he needs to have a deep cleaning. He has never had a cavity and his gums don't bleed. She always pressures me into doing treatments I don't need. I told her he will just have a regular cleaning today. She then turned into use car sales person. Guilting me that my son really needs it, I said maybe next year. She not only suggested I am neglecting my son but that if she doesn't do a deep cleaning that day she could lose her license. That was the final straw I got up and said we're leaving. She tried to stop me following me and explaining how she would just do a normal cleaning today. I was pissed. How dare you suggest I am not taking care of my son who has had a cleaning every 6 months since he was 2. I had to have a tooth pulled and Dr.Berci offer 3 ways to fill the hole. However she said really the only way to go is an implant, so I asked her if I could get the bridge and she said no you wont be able to clean it well. So I asked the person presenting me with estimate and she said sure you can do that instead of the implant, a difference of 8500. Now I go to a great dentist and he said my son has great teeth, plus the work Dr. Berci wanted to do on me was quoted at 12,000 dollars and my new dentist that is professional is doing even more work for 3200. I honestly can't believe they are still open. Plus try to research the doctors Dr. Berci has hired and you'll find nothing. We put our faith in a doctor and to have her abuse that trust is the worst. read more

I scheduled my 6 month check up check last time I was in and then I get a call their prior dentist had moved locations so my appt that was suppose to be in a week has now been moved out another 2 months. I got a small filling done last year and it already came out and then they wanted to charge me an additional $95 for an emergency visit, even though they're the ones who canceled my appointment for next week. I have had a couple fillings done before (from other dentists) and have never had one come loose within a year. They just said sorry and you'll still have to pay $95. As some of the comments/reviews say, I would give them a zero if I could. I was referred by a friend to go to this dentist. I have not gone to a dentist since my anxiety started about a year ago. I have a few health issues that would effect my teeth but not to the extent the dentist said. I have been dealing with acid issues for the past 10 months and have been in communications with my doctor to handle the situation and get better. I was told by this dentist that I needed to get the acid under control as it was effecting my teeth and causing them to deteriorate. What did she think I've been doing for almost the past year?? Not managing my illness?? I struggle through with pain every day as there's not much I can do anymore. I can't be on acid controllers for long periods of time as they have negative effects on you. I was then told I needed to have my nose shaved down because of post nasal drip!! Like what?! Oh and to top it off, she told me that if shaving my nose doesn't work, there's a woman at UC Davis that puts magnets in your esophagus to open it up and we could try that. Isn't that great!! Like what?! I am so appalled by the manner in which they talked to me. I was also told that I have glue on my teeth from braces I had over 8 years ago. How can that be true? I have been to multiple cleanings with my last dentist and had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. Wouldn't he have told me in the past 8 years that I had glue on my teeth!! So that, I do not believe in the slightest. I was then quoted almost $500 for each side of my mouth for a cleaning, a deep cleaning in which I did not need. $1000 for a cleaning?! They have to be crazy but by the sounds of a few other reviews, I'm not so far off with my story. Now I do have a tooth that need a crown, I understand that need to be done but then they quoted me $1000 for one crown! Someone please tell me how this is okay? I have amazing insurance and I highly doubt those numbers they give are accurate. They are just trying to get money out of you. I ended up walking to my car, having an anxiety attack and a family member had to come and get me. I don't recommend this facility to anyone, ever. I was treated like a money bag, was told so many lies, and was very triggered by the manner in which I was spoke to. With them knowing of my existing anxiety, you would think they would have been more understanding and take it slow with me. They poured all of the problems they found onto me at once, telling me to pay over $2000 in work on my teeth (all within a month I might add!) which is so unnecessary. They did (as other reviewers have said) offered me to get on a payment plan which also sounded crazy. In house payment plan would be half down and pay the rest off in a few months while another option was having my credit ran and getting on another payment plan with 0 down or some bull. I will never return to this facility and I pray you don't either. I just feel like you can't trust anyone these days, even with my health which is so sad. Pros: I have only needed some basic cleaning and wisdom teeth pulled. I have found the office clean and comfortable. The Dentist, Hygienist and Assistants have been polite and attentive. I found the person who took my x rays a little too chatty, haha. That's okay but I'm really just focused on my x rays. Dr Oh was straight forward and professional, very neutral. Dr Gunadi goes above and beyond with excellent chairside manner. Really feels like the kind of attitude and care a professional should take with their work. Cons: My one con is that the office staff seem to have some trouble communicating. I have had the office call me again even after I already confirmed info they asked for. This leaves me a little uneasy that one day I'll get in an insurance rigmarole or billing issue. However, the dental care itself has been excellent. read more

I love the dentist and hygienist here but this review is for the front desk lady. I talked to the office last week when they confirmed my appointment- asked if everything was ready to go, double checked on insurance- they said yes, and said see you Monday. I woke up so gd early to be at this spot Monday morning only to pull in to the lot and get a call from them ten minutes before I was due in, I walked in rather than answering the call, and the front desk lady was mildly frantic and told me insurance wasn't going to pay for the appointment. Asked her to let me know what was needed and she said see the hygienist. I stated I needed insurance to cover this appointment. Hygienist is lovely as usually, takes X-rays and leads me to the dental room. I reiterate that front desk had mentioned an insurance issue and they say ok and someone leaves to presumably check that bit. Dentist is amazing; Dr Emilia is so super comforting, gave me bad news and I still trust her to move forward. I will need a referral per my beautiful and kind dentist and they leave the room to do dentist stuff. I remind them I need to know about insurance before we get started with a much bigger procedure than planned, but it's medically necessary, so I push my fear of the dentist away, and sit tight so they can bring me an estimate. Front desk lady from earlier comes in and yells at me to put a mask on, but my mask is off per the dentist and my purse with my mask is in the wall. I yell back to her I can't put it on because it's sticking out of my purse, and it's in a hook on the wall, and she is blocking me into the reclining chair I'd been in for my initial exam. I get the mask, put it on, and ask her "are we in a fight?" She says no, I agree, no fight, and she begins explaining costs for today's visit. The work for the day costs what it did last year out of pocket and is expensive, but not shocking- I was prepared to pay it and have a HSA. I then ask again how much the specialist they are referring me to is going to cost, and what percentage would be covered by insurance and she tells me she doesn't know. I asked for her to call and she refuses. I explain because this particular work today must be done at an exact time after today's appointment, so it gave me a very narrow window to pay or plan for major periodontal surgery. She again refused to find out what next steps would be for me in terms of who to see, how much it costs, and if my insurance covers it, so I left. I'll miss you dental staff, but this gatekeeping Karen at the front desk is too much for me and definitely doesn't make me feel less anxious about visiting the dentist. read more

Dr. Emilia Dinea-Berci is the best dentist I have had in my 40 years of going to the dentist. She's kind, gentle, funny!, and is always very obviously concerned about what my problems and anxieties are in regard to whatever treatment I am getting done during my visit. I would recommend her 7 days a week, and twice on Sunday. If more doctors, dentists, and people in health care showed her care, and concern for their patients,, health care would be a better place. I did my research and read all the reviews of several places before picking a new dentist for my husband and myself. I have a dentist, but our insurance changed and we needed a new dentist. After much review, we decided to go with these lovely people. I called to set the appointments for both my husband and myself. They were able to take us both on the same day and time as each other and I didnt have to wait weeks out. They got us in just a week out. They sent the lively health questionnaires to my email to complete electronically. I was already impressed. What a time saver to not have to worry about getting in early to compete all that paperwork. Did it easily on the laptop and was done. Bam!!! So we got in about 15 minutes early (just because) and we were being taken back before our seats could get warm. I saw Dr. Dinea-Berci and my husband saw Dr. Mak. Both were excellent doctors. My husband slipped in my room to check on me and was telling me how much he lived this place and his doctor. He was so happy to have found this place. I have inherited some bad teeth and clench my teeth which has done substantial damage. Doctor didnt tell me anything I didnt already know because I had been dealing with the same issues with my previous doctor. That is how I know they were legit and not trying to make $$ off me. Everyone was so attentive to me and so kind. They got me a blanket to warm me up, the assistant (Giselle) brought me an apple and insisted I needed something to eat. I was there an extend period of time because they were starting to do some of the work that day. Wow!!! I told her I didnt want it because I have to have my apples sliced. She went and sliced the apple for me and insisted I eat. Dr. B was so kind, constantly checking on me and paying me comiments. I love how she explained everything to me and made sure I understood. When it came to billing, I dont know how great my insurance is thru covered CA, but the quote I received for the planning and layering was much cheaper than what I paid at my previous doctor. Here is the topper: doctor called me that evening to see how I was feeling. I feel guilty for leaving my old dentist who was wonderful, but am so happy I found these guys. I loved seeing how happy my husband was when he left. With his anxieties, I was a little nervous, but Dr. Mak took great care of him and helped ease his concerns. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! read more

Came in with extreme tooth pain and they got me seen right away . Everyone was extremely sensitive to the fact I was in pain . After xrays and an examination I was told I need 2 root canals from a filling that fell out when I was pregnant decay had started to build up ect . They went over what my insurance would cover and what I would need to pay out of pocket and worked to get me set up with a payment plan . They got me right in 2 days later to start the root canal process but I had chickened out well I went thru the weekend with pain I just couldn't live with called them to reschedule and they were more than willing . Went in Monday 10/15/18 at 2 pm and was in the back by 210. Dr.Mack (spell check ) was amazing he was caring , sensitive to my anxiety and friendly . His assistant was the exact same . A 3.5 hour procedure and I didn't walk out " hating the dentist " which I'm surprised . Not only were they amazing but when i was paying the lady going over everything remembered I had 2 daughters asked how they were and when it was time to set up my follow up appointment to finish she even took into consideration the fact I need to drop off and pick up my daughters from daycare all on her own without me ever mentioning it . If you don't want to be scammed I don't recommend this dentist office. Here is a summation of my experience with them: -Over a year ago I went in for a cracked tooth they only offered one solution which was the most expensive option and it would've been around 800 dollars and well I am in my 20s and I don't often have an extra 800 to spend on dental work when I asked about them price they didn't tell me about any financing options so I figured oh well my tooth is t causing me any pain what's the harm in not fixing it and carried on about my day. -Now earlier this year I went back in sadly again for another cracked tooth, thanks to Tik tok I learned that you can ask for the porcelain option which is MUCH MUCH cheaper it was supposed to be 600 almost 700 but the porcelain option was only 16 and upon arrival they said they were gonna do the expensive option for free which to me didn't make much sense if it's so expensive what can they do it for no extra cost but oh well. I sit down in the chair and they end up finding out I need a root canal so they begin prepping but ultimately leave a nerve exposed (I was not prescribed any pain medicine until I went in after a night of no sleep and in constant pain, my prescription was just a high mg dosage of ibuprofen not very helpful but oh well) so I scheduled my root canal and the once very nice secretary said that I had to pay 100 up front and that I won't get it back if I don't show up to my appointment or cancel 3 business days ahead of my appointment (I'll come back to this point soon). She said it would be 400-700 at the max and well 2 business days and 4 days prior to my appointment I get a call saying that my insurance is used up and won't cover my operation so it will be 1700 so obviously I was shocked and asked her to double check as me and my parents did the same, and well we found out they had been incorrectly charging my insurance each time I had gone in (we got our money back in the end but I don't recommend this place in the slightest) Talk to Robin about the way she treats customers she is very rude and shouldn't be talking to people like that at all, especially customers! Some positives: Most of the staff was very nice a lot of the dental assistants were very nice and talkative and the other front desk lady was great! And I didn't catch his name but the dentist I had was very nice! TLDR: Robin is VERY rude and should be fired or retrained, the office is sketchy in the way they file their paperwork and overall if you're broke just ask for the porcelain option they'll probably give you the expensive one for free anyways. read more

Worst experience ever. Stay far, far away from this place. I left two messages about needing to come back in to fix the work I had done. They finally told me on the phone, that yes I should come back in and they would cover the cost and repair it. The dentist was nice but then the office manager comes in with the worst and most angry attitude I've ever seen. Literally treating me like a hostile witness, like they did not want me there. Shaming me that I waited too long to come in when THEY wouldn't return my calls, telling me it will be thousands of dollars to fix. Ok, not to be too cliche, but I HATE going to the dentist. I have a needle phobia and I've had panic attacks in dentists chairs in the past. I've had dentists shame me in their chairs before. It's not fun. Consequently, I have had serious dental issues. This place is incredible! Everyone was just straight-up kind and gentle. The care I received was top notch, and I'm absolutely thrilled I found this dentist office. I can't even tell you.. The dentist herself also followed up with me later in the evening. Dropped my sister off, 40 minutes later, she texts me telling me she just saw the doctor and hygienist and they recommended a deep cleaning. She has disabilities and had scheduled her Paratransit ride in the next hour--and apparently waiting around to speak to a dentist takes 40 minutes--needless to say she did not have time to do it same day. She asked to do the regular cleaning which she was scheduled for that day and to schedule the deep cleaning 4 months out, they declined. Apparently, no other teeth needs cleaning if you have a problematic area in your mouth that needs a deep cleaning. Not sure why this is the new standard for dental cleanings, that no cleaning is better than a routine cleaning. Mind you that not everyone who needs a deep cleaning needs their entire mouth deep cleaned, so now the new standard is, regardless of whether or not you need one quad or half your mouth deep cleaned, they won't clean the rest of your teeth--at all. Apparently, "it doesnt make a difference", so why are we going in for a cleaning at all if they don't make a difference? The answer? Deep cleanings makes more money. After telling front desk she wont be coming back, there was no concern as to why this patient is leaving unhappy or why she wont be returning. This shows you the level of professionalism and concerns this office has for it's patients. And this is for a cleaning, so if you have more serious concerns and or more serious treatments performed here, I'd question what response you would receive. Or maybe, you'd have to agree to every service and when you line their pockets they would show more concern? Like, $125 for an antibacterial flush? This was a waste of time for everyone involved. My sister was denied service, so her dental hygiene will worsen--thanks to the new standard--and the office lost billing for the cleaning and future deep cleaning. read more

From reception to doctor, I have never been treated as well. I had spent the last week searching for a dentist that can deal with my issue with X-rays went to 4 other dentists who got me in the door only to tell me no you are too difficult to treat. I've been going to this dentist office since they opened when Dr. Lee was the main dentist. Since he left the level of care has dropped. I don't think there's anybody there from the opening of the office as they seemed unhappy under the new dentist. Do to Covid I had missed almost 2 years of care. Finally I go in with my kids who also had appointments. We were all seen and separated. The dentist didn't even go over their exams with me. I had to ask another person. As many other people have complained that they didn't get a cleaning after their exam and were told they needed to get a laser treatment for cleaning $1400 I fell into the same boat. Not only did I not get a cleaning but that laser procedure would be another 4 months out. I declined the service but a few months later I get a call telling me I'm scheduled for the treatment even though I declined. Not to mention the almost $400 bill for images taken during my xrays that weren't covered under my insurance. Long story short, I made an appointment with a different dental office. They were thorough, cleaned my teeth and I wasn't told I had to get laser treatment, my gums weren't as bad as Bursie said they were and overall felt I was being treated honestly. Waited about 6 months to write this. I was hoping they would refund me as promised. They even called me twice to get my address to mail the refund check. I am grateful for their kind personalities and compassionate manner but so disappointed in their business practices. I was told I had an infected tooth and another that needed extraction. They made a crown for a tooth. I paid cash. Over $300. A 2nd opinion revealed the diagnosis to be incorrect. The tooth did not need a crown. I had no infection. And did not need an extraction. if i can give 0 star i would...!! let me start with bit history, i'm 71 years old male, dentist by profession (oral surgeon with 35 years of experience)...i'm retired due to knew surgery(can't stand for extended period of time)... so i went to this so called "modern arden dentistry" practice last year and needed to replace chipped porcelain crown, so far so good...first i needed to wait 1 hour in the waiting room, upon called in the dentist office..guess what i waited another 45 minutes for someone to show...the removal of the old crown took another 30 minutes...next step was to take impression for the new crown...the dentist left and left and someone else tried about 5-6 times to take the impression unsuccessfully...so i step in and took the impression myself...of course they offer me "very strong, very nice zircon crown... $1,300+..on a last molar !!!!!! i refused and choose different option for $385.00...and they did gum study and i have been told i need deep cleaning...i agreed because i didn't have done it for few years....don't want to mentioned that the office manager came to me with proposal for treatment for more than $4000.00+ which i really didn't need... and now to get to todays visit...i called and schedule visit for yearly check up and basic cleaning..!!! some girl came i didn't even catch her name and start pocking me here and there with the probe and made statement that my gums are in very bad condition...which was just a lie..and yes at age of 71 i don't expect and i don't think anyone expect to have 100% healthy gums....i was left alone for quite some time and then the dentist came we spoke we looked the control x-rays, discussed control visit in 4-5 months we agreed there is no concerns and he left... then the office manager came in with bunch of papers and told me that i need deep cleaning and i have to pay out of pocket $1000.00 ..i said i came to do check up and basic cleaning...but she said you can have only deep cleaning not basic...i tried to remind her that i'm dentist and i know very well what i really need... she refused to get basic cleaning...and insisted of pricy treatment for paradentosis and said that my gums will rejuvenite and no more paradentosis....which never gonna happen...i contradicted and she said in her books says this is possible...lol i guess we red different books... so in short...this practice to price-gouging prices and offering nessecerally treatments for more money, without considering patients needs and wishes is very wrong...this is a ground for malpractice lawsuit !! as for arden modern dentistry, robin lied to me about having a gum infection and exaggerated that if i don't get a deep cleaning, then my teeth are going to fall out. she tried to sell me services that i did not need and recommended treatments that made more profit. so if you value your time and money never ever consider to go to arden modern dentistry...get a real practice with professional caring staff and dentists.... dr.chris dupont dds read more

I went to Dr. Emila-Berci DDS on June 22 for a dental appointment that I was fully prepared to pay for...what did they have me do? Sit in a dental chair for 11/2 hours while they tried to verify my insurance...and I told them explicitly that I would pay for their services...that I needed a dentist...if they felt that they could not undertake my case why were they not "straight up" and just tell me. My dentist, Dr. Emilia Dinea-Berci, is wonderful. She is kind, caring, and very professional. She is very aware of my fear of dentistry and pain. I have never felt any pain when she works on my teeth. She cares about her patients, and makes sure they are comfortable and at ease. I won't be coming to this dentist office again. I think this office is very unorganized and unprofessional. They have canceled 2 of my appointments in the past because they didn't receive verbal confirmation. The first time, they called me after their office was closed and I was unable to answer their call and planned to call in the morning when their office opened. I got a call from them first thing in the morning saying my appointment was canceled. I called back angrily and told them they should give at least 24 hours for a patient to call back - hello, that's typical admin policy. The second time, they called me again after their office was closed and I missed their call but this time they said my appointment was canceled because they never got verbal confirmation. I never received a call prior to this call so I didn't realize I had to do that on my own free will as a patient - I've never had an office do that before. I called in the morning and the gentleman, my apologies for being rude and frustrated and who handled this issue with the utmost professionalism, confirmed that I indeed did not receive any call, email or text prior to this phone call. To top it all off, my reminder card said my appointment was at 4:00 and in their call it said it was at 3:15. I've never dealt with a dentist office like this before. read more

I know there are a lot of good reviews but my time and my husbands have both been completely wasted and disrespected on several occasions here. Why we have them a second and third chance are beyond me! My husband was there today for his 1pm surgery apt and at 1:48 finally approached the desk more aggressively after several times asking when it's his turn. They said sorry the surgeon took an emergency case at 1. Didn't they know that he was doing that and could've told my husband that his 1pm will now be a 230pm?!?! THEY KNEW THE SURGEON WOULDNT BE AVAILABLE and let my husband sit there for 48 min before HE forced them to tell him how long it would be. They said another 45 min so he left. This also happened to him for his last cleaning. After they mis-scheduled him and he left without a cleaning (mind you after another 30min in the waiting room) he rescheduled and the last time he only waited 20 min. Great he thought! Then he was in the chair for over and hour waiting. ARE YOU KIDIDNG?!?! How is a business so mismanaged. My husband is kinder then I am because after those two occasions he still made his appointment for today. The last time I went I was scheduled for a cleaning and was there for almost 2 hours and didn't even get my teeth cleaned. I got x-rays but I was there for a cleaning. I was nursing at the time and did not have milk supply seeing as my mom was at home with the baby. I did not intend it to be in there for over two hours so I did not have any milk for my baby and got very anxious and ended up leaving. I learned my lesson and have yet to be back because their business practices are so bad. They have never offered apologies or anything to make up for the fact that they have wasted our families time on several occasions. They've just said sorry there's nothing we can do about it. I needed to be seen due to a painful tooth. An appointment was scheduled for a week from when I called due to the holidays etc... I was told someone would call if there was a cancellation. I was pleasantly surprised when I did receive a call and my appointment was moved to the following day. The dentist was very good at explaining my options and answering my questions. I'm looking forward to working with the dental team to address my dental needs. Thank you! read more
