Best dental experience ever root canal extraction dr smile made me feel as comfortable as can be

Loved this place! By far the most seamless root canal ever. Like painless from start to finish. The overall office experience was as good as a medi-cal referrals can go. The referral process itself was pretty smooth. This was my second office selected and I'm glad I was able to come here. I was able to get into the initial appointment within a week. After finally getting in for the endless pain in my mouth and literally begging to relook at a bottom tooth that seemed to also be giving me trouble the doctor obliged my own sense of pin and sent the referral information both teeth. As for the appointment it did get scheduled a month out to get the actual root canal which was insanity when someone is in pain, however they only do root canals on Monday so it was what it was. My initiation Al appointment was scheduled for 4/18 but the office called on 4/8 @2:34 for a 3:15pm cancellation. Boy oh boy did I hit a beeline yo make it there. The actual appointment was in and out. From the ease of paperwork to the actual root canal it was painless. The doctor was so caring and compassionate to ensure I endured minimal pain . And honestly I didn't feel a thing and was in and out within an hour. If you have to see an endodentist and it happens to be a referral through medi-cal for sure pick this office... you won't regret it. read more

Their billing practices are monstrous. After every visit, they send aggressive bills when payment had been settled at the visit. I was going to be 20 minutes late for an appointment, they told me not to come, and billed me $75. It's too bad because their dental hygienists are amazing and the dentists are nice. read more

I have had good experiences here in the past with not only my visits but also for my son. I was at another office and left that office to come back to Redford smiles. The assistants and front staff are always friendly... This review is solely based off of customer service encounter that I feel was very much unacceptable I recently had a filling done here. Went well. But I am now having some excruciating pain in that tooth. Maybe it fell out? Not sure. I am in a lot of pain. I reached out to the "emergency after hours" text only phone that this office has. Although I do understand it is 4th of July weekend, I don't understand the lack of customer service and disregard to assisting with an emergency appt on the emergency phone LOL. I knew it was a holiday and they are not open but what I did not expect was for them to not even offer me an emergency appt first thing Monday? Or maybe a doctor come in early to see me? Why am I being told to call the office Monday when they open. Why not just pencil me in due to my high levels of pain?? Why not assist a client that is complaining of pain. What is the point of this phone? What this tells me is that they don't give a donkeys behind about me and are not willing to even try to help me out. Absolutely bare minimum! So if someone can explain to me, what exactly this after hours emergency text service does, other than tell me to call the office during business hours...If someone can explain that then I'll delete my review. read more

I started with this provider in September 2022 due to a change in my insurance coverage changes. After the x-rays I was provided with a treatment plan that would cost me close to 5,000 dollars. Note I have no sympoms and my prior DDS stated my teeth are in great shape. I should of trusted my instincts about this office during my first visit. I continued to go in for routine cleanings and each time the hygienist pressured me into setting up a appointment for procedures. At my last appointment the hygienist stated that if I do NOT go forward with the appointment it is unlikely that I could continue to be a patient at this office. She was very argumentive and rude to me. I will not be returning to this office. Clearly they are more interested in profit rather than providing dental services. I must add that the front office staff is very welcoming and Dr. Redford was very pleasant. read more

I've been scared to go to the dentist since my last experience over 8 years ago at a different office and really nervous when I went for my first initial visit. Everyone at this office from the front desk, to the dentist assistant and dentist Mark Redford has been really understanding in making sure I'm comfortable with everything. They were rude to her cause she didn't speak good English! they not only provide translation but also don't care when she asked questions or needed her concerns to be addressed! I have never written a negative review online for anything but I feel like this needs to be said. I went to Dr. Redford with high hopes after breaking my tooth. He performed an extraction and bone graft which both went well. Months later, when time came for the implant, is when everything went wrong. They placed the permanent crown on my implant and it hurt when I chewed. So I came back to him to adjust it, over and over and over. No exaggeration it was about 7-8 times he adjusted my crown with no improvement. I still fault myself for allowing this to go on for so long. Dr. Redford is a very charismatic and friendly man, on the outside. So you might be inclined to believe him and keep allowing him to try to fix things but I'm unsure about his ethics and ability. I finally made my way to a periodontist that only does implants and he immediately tells me that Redford's implant is messed up in many ways. Too long and narrow, and most importantly it was placed too close to the cheek. This has cost me in total $3000+, countless appointments, my jaw bone being destroyed by the malpositoned implant and my gums are now absolutely obliterated, leaving only the mucosa by the tooth. All of this and all he has done to try to make it right was a measly few hundreds bucks back for the crown to get me out of his hair. I don't understand how this is ok and I genuinely feel like I have been robbed by Dr. Redford. read more

Do not go to this dentist. They were paid by my insurance, and I also paid in cash. Every time I had a service, they provided a price list showing how much my insurance covered and how much I had to pay in cash. I agreed and paid the full amount they required in cash. But one month later, they billed me for no reason. Before they brought me in for a service, they would run my insurance and check how much it would cover. Now, they have sent me to collections for $700 for a service that I already paid for, even though I paid over $2000 out of pocket. I switched my family dentist to this dentist and even recommended them to my aunt and cousin. They all received services, paid by cash, and got extra bills. Their situations are the same as mine. Beware of this dentist. They seem very nice at first and make you feel that you can afford their services. They let you complete all the treatments you need, and then, months later, they send you an extra bill. If you don't pay, they will send you to collections. I disputed this with the credit reporting company and will send them proof of what I already paid. read more

This is the best Dentist office I have ever encountered in my whole life! The girls in the front are absolutely amazing!! Friendly, caring, and not pushy. I have always had a really hard time going to the dentist I get super anxious and it's really hard for me. They are so kind and patient and comforting. The dentists and staff are so amazing and when I get anxious I feel heard and that it's ok. I really appreciate a dentist that feels like a safe place!!! I still need nitrous to get through most procedures but I feel like the experience here is night and day different than other dentists I have been to. I will not be going anywhere else for dentistry care. My family and I had been going to this dental office way before Dr. Redford took over (nothing bad to say about him). But lately, they cancel appointments regularly, but when you call to reschedule or can't come in because you're not feeling well, you receive a letter saying you're no longer welcome to their facility. (VERY DISAPPOINTING) I live in Natomas, where there are plenty of great dental offices you can choose from, only to drive a distance because you built a relationship, so I thought to be later dismissed. Terrible place. First of all, it took 2 weeks just to book an appointment. When their phone lines are busy/they are with patients (even during normal business hours) there is an automated messaging system. I have left numerous messages in a span of 2-3 months for different reasons (make an appointment, change the date, get dental records, find out why the dental records were not transferred) and no one ever got back to me when I DID leave a message, nor acknowledged that I ever left any messages once I finally get a hold of a human being. I even called once and the phone line gave me a message like their phone bill was not paid! Very unorganized system! I finally went in for my appointment in the summer time for my cleaning and a check up. All of the client chairs are together in one large room, it felt like a dental school, and made me feel like a statistic. The Dr. took one look at my teeth (after examining and looking at X-rays) and told me I needed several cavities filled, a couple of root canals and all of the molars needed to be crowned. I was quoted $11k. Okay, i know my teeth SUCK! I have terrible enamel, but am also very sensitive about my sucky teeth, and I do not want unneeded work. I had a crown done once and it caused me a lot of pain and annoyance, I cannot imagine that happening for 15 more teeth. And I do not have 10 grand laying around anywhere to spare. I went to my old dentist for a second opinion and I was told that I just had several cavities that needed to be filled. Okay, that is more plausible..... I felt like Dr. Redford is extremely aggressive with his dental treatment plans. Maybe some people want all crowns, but I want to save my teeth in their natural state as long as possible. I was not asked what I wanted, I was just given a treatment plan then ushered into the financial office to go over it with a manager, then pushed into making an appointment to start getting some work done (which I did NOT.) Absolutely terrible experience! -They had me wait 1 hour before actually seeing me. -The technicians did not know how to use their equipment and had me take a panoramic at least 2-4 times because they couldn't figure out something -Waited another 45 minutes to get X-Rays done -Waited another 25 for the actual dentist to see me for less than 5 minutes just to diagnose my teeth (1st visit in a while) -Expected Bill was $8000 with insurance to get all my work done and they had the audacity to suggest Invisalign for an additional $4600. "So would you like to book your appointment?" I think not. I was there for almost 3 hrs and completely wasted my time. If I could 0 stars I would but the gentleman (tech) who apologized to me was nice, it wasn't his fault but he tried his best to check on me as no one else did. Sorry to say.. I recently went here because I was referred by my dentist for ortho work. I guess the system went down and the password wasn't given so they asked us to reschedule our appointments. Which was ok until the reception who was an Asian lady decides to argue with me about the work that I was getting done. I have my paper work in hand of what the referral was for. Overall her attitude and the hassle is not a place where I would like to get my work done. As well I was paying out of pocket so they should have a training course on how to treat customers in general in a stressful situation. Would not recommend. Update Last week I got my wisdoms teeth pulled the doctors advised me that I may experience numbness given the wisdoms teeth is laying on the jaw bone and has nerves wrapped around it. Well it's been a week as of today and I have a small chunk of my chin, gum and teeth that are still numb and uncomfortable. The process went well and the recovery time....well it's still going. The dentist Assistant Kayla was very nice and helpful. She gave useful tips. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have added two stars. I'll see if my fave will be numb forever. Thanks Kayla read more

The actual experience was great - the Dr and assistants were friendly. I had a crown put in though and really wish I would have known how sensitive the tooth is after. About 4 months after my procedures were done, I've been billed for $600 and $1,500 for what they claim are amounts my insurance didn't pay. Yet when I contact my insurance company, they say they're waiting on proof from the dentist. This practice just seems to not do their due diligence when it comes to billing and they try to screw people over. They continually use the caveat that they are not responsible if their initial quote is not fully covered by insurance. It's a practice's job to give accurate quotes and work with insurance companies, not give up half way through and bill the patient. read more

Long story short: Friendly, Professional, Quick, Painless; This place saved my a$$. I had neglected the need to get a root canal done on my molar for SEVERAL YEARS because i never had money for the "treatment plans" at other places and it honestly never really bothered me, i never had pain so i negelected it. But a couple months ago my molar started to really bother me and i knew exaclty what time it was lol. I had just started a new job and my new dental plan assigned me to some joke of an office. [[I had to leave them a voicemail since they never answered the phone and they still NEVER got back to me! ( I left them a detailed VM and they just scheduled me without confirming with me)]] So I started calling other dental offices and looking for an "emergency dentist visit" and i couldnt find anyone who would accomodate, they all scheduled me MONTHS out and only for a general visit first. I felt like i was screwed. Lucky for me I see that Redford Smiles is an approved provider in my dental plan, so i give them a call and an angel of a woman named Adelle or Adela? Reads my mind before i even request an emergency visit. She simply asked me if i had pain and she booked me for an appt within couple weeks!! I didnt even have to ask!! She was so gracious and pleasant with me unlike some of the rude ghetto b****es i had gotten at some of the other offices i called. Anyways, after my first visit they set me up for a comprehensive treatment plan. Couple months later here i am with all my long over due work completed. All cavities filled, deep cleaning etc. The root canal on my molar was quick and absolutely painless! Constructive Feedback: The deep cleaning appointment was actually the only painful thing in my treatment plan, i had to kinldy and gently ask the lady performing my deep gum cleaning if she could please just numb me around half way thru because i honestly couldnt bear it anymore. I feel like that should be standard procedure? She used the numbing gel at first which was useless lol so i got the anesthesia injection instead. Idk maybe its just me but i feel like deep cleanings are painful as hell without it. Then again i hadnt been to dentist in super long time so maybe i was too sensisitive?? Overall, Dr Redford AND Dr Sprague are really gentle, quick, thorough, and super charismatic. The ladies at the front desk are very pleaseant in person and over the phone. All staff here is super nice. I like that this place is a one stop shop. Usually my dentists would have to refer me to a different office to get certain things done (root canal) but the cool thing about this place is they seem to do it all here, which is a huge convenience factor for me. I have a dentist "phobia," which Dr Redford has helped me with. First off, I was about an hour late for my appointment and I called to let them know. They worked me right in. I had a root canal and crown put in and total time for the visit was almost two hours. Dr Redford is concerned about his patients feeling pain and goes out of his way to make sure the shots work (and he gives great shots). The reason for not having to go back is because he has a machine that makes the crown while he does the rest of the work. I could have a dentist that is closer, but I feel comfortable with Dr Redford and the staff and will continue to go to him. Finally, a dentist that cares. read more

Only put 1 star because I had to put a rating! Worst dental office ever! They lost the X-rays for my children's teeth. They never completed any f/up work that needed to be done. They always cxl'd our appointments, they do wisdom teeth extraction with no anesthesia, the office staff are rude and incompetent. You make an appointment you tell them what the appointment is for and then when you show up they dont even take care of the problem of why your there!
