So when I needed flowers for a very special Celebration of Life I knew I could trust them to execute my vision. I went into the shop and we talked about which flowers and colors to use and which ones I did not want. I wanted strong vibrant colors of the rainbow. I left the shop feeling like they knew exactly what I wanted. When I arrived at the funeral home and saw the arrangements I was blown away. I assisted one of my patients at the nursing facility I work at , in ordering flowers for his elderly mother. My patient is unable to use his arms. And all this was done over the phone. The order was 45 red roses, and 45. Pink roses. 2 vases and a balloon. They told us over the phone it would be 175$ . Days pass and his card is charged 3 times at that price. For a total of 417.20$ They did not say each they simple gave us a number. Idk if this is a simple mistake or a company tactic to trick unsuspecting people into large purchases by not giving the total price. Shameful at best. Called at last minute to arrange flowers for funeral. They were honest and said that it would be difficult to make my time frame. Had to say OK since they were close to the location. My cousin a short time later sent me a beautiful picture showing the arrangement in place. On a whim, a co-worker/friend of mine and I decided to buy a bunch of flowers for some of our co-workers several months ago. Since the plan was to dash out during our lunch period to pick up flowers and be back in time to hand them out, we had to find a flower place close to work. Ardmore was close and my friend had used them before so we decided to get flowers here (woo-hoo, local support). Our plan was to pick up two small bouquets and a dozen or so individual stems, which shouldn't be too difficult or pricey. The day before we intended to hand out the flowers, we visited Ardmore to see what they had and place an order. We walked in and.... I wasn't really impressed. Most of the place was filled with large plants but not so many flowers. The only flowers I saw were in a fridge near the back and the selection wasn't huge. After browsing for awhile, we decided upon individual stems of various flowers and found a rainbow-colored rose that we hoped to put in the bouquets. The women at the shop assured us it wasn't a problem and quoted us at a fair price. The following day, we went to pick up the flowers and were disappointed to find out they didn't have any more of the rainbow roses. They did, however, put together a bouquet with other roses (purple? I can't remember) VERY quickly --- which was impressive. I'm thankful for that. Yet, all the add-ins (baby's breath, ribbons, etc.) that we weren't expected added up and we paid more for the flowers than we intended. Yikes. Not happy about that. But what could we do? We paid, brought them to work, and spread some flower joy among our co-workers! They were happy, which was good. read more

I had a good experience with a surely outside of the box request for a same-day bouquet of "carnations or something, without thorns" for a classroom of three-year-olds. Ardmore Florist provided a lovely and professionally done bouquet. Each child is responsible for bringing a bouquet in on a rotating basis, which ends up being every four months or so. I dropped the ball last time around because I didn't know how to get flowers safely during a pandemic, but this time I found Ardmore Florist and they accommodate curbside pickup (although I did end up going inside because there was too much snow on the road to pull over right outside the storefront). This morning, we dropped our son off with his bouquet from Ardmore Florist and the classroom was very impressed. One of the teachers took pictures. I am always skeptical ordering flowers as I have had bad experiences in the past with paying a lot and getting very little and to find out the flowers looked nothing like what I ordered. I have a passion for flowers and I'm extremely picky when picking out my arrangements. I recently ordered flowers from Ardmore Florist for a wake. I have to say I didn't have high expectations do to my past experience with other florists. All I can say is that they surpassed my expectations. They were gorgeous!!! This is a really good place. I had to get my mom some flowers for Mother's Day and they had a ton of stuff, all pretty cool. They also have a cat there--I think his name was Maury. And he's awesome. The lady there made an awesome bouquet. My mom said that it was the best bouquet she has ever received. I guess it had some interesting flowers or that she's never seen in a bouquet before. Beautifully arranged flowers! I ordered a Sympathy Spray of flowers to be sent to a local funeral home for my grandmother's services. The spray was absolutely beautiful and was a joy to my stepmother who commented over and over and how lovely it was. I just received an e-mail today with my quote for wedding flowers. There was no actual price for me to look at and the description of flowers was NOTHING what I had explained I wanted. The colors types of flowers are totally off. Also, I didn't get a complete quote. They only gave me quotes for bouquets & boutonnieres. Worst florist I have ever done business with! My husband was charged over $100 for a bouquet of flowers that had 6 roses in it and a bunch of greenery. He called in to order them for our wedding anniversary and he told him he wanted to spend $85. Then then charged him over $100!! What kind of business does this? Highway robbery, please beware of these con artists. I feel horrible that my husband got ripped off and every time I look at my bouquet I am reminded of that! Flowers yes of course... I walked in like an ape looking for roses...I explained my story... They convinced me out of the roses...Old hat not very romantic in their eyes. Then they grilled me in European accents about my girl. Favorite color, Favorite season, where we met and on and on... then they went into cooler rummaged around and WHAMO! I asked her name & stated I'd call back figuring she must be busy. I called back about an hour later, again same girl with an attitude answered. Her name was Julie. I began to ask a few questions and she was so rude that I cancelled the order and called another Florist!!! I called Jims's Florist located in Villa Park. I have used this florist in the past. Overall they do an ok job. Unfortunately, much like many florists they have really started to price gouge in my opinion. I called and asked for a nice arrangement be sent out (site unseen) - just keep it reasonable (around $30-$35 I said and don't include a vase). Ended up being charged $47 for the arrangement. I don't know, maybe I am being unreasonable but if a customer says they want to spend $30-$35, you probably should keep it in that ballpark. $47 is about 50% more than they asked for. read more

I ordered an expensive arrangement of flowers for a funeral. The flowers were totally unacceptable. They died within 24 hours. We were so mortified we took our sympathy card off of the flowers. We would rather the family thought we sent nothing than have the flowers represent our family. Despite 3 phone calls, the florist refused to correct the problem. They wanted $150.00 to redo the Sympathy Spray we sent. They gave all kinds of excuses for why the flowers died; none of which were valid. feeling irritated! It's about 44 days until my wedding I went in on May 8th to get an estimate on the flowers I requested just for my wedding. This is not with flowers for the whole bridal party just for myself the bridal bouquet.I was invited receive an estimate about a couple days. I call the week after and was told I was calling after hours in the phones are forwarded to our home phoneand was advised to call her back. Now I'm not a very picky person. I really like peoples creativity. I've used this Flores before for my grandmothers memorial service. not to mention they were a very reputable business that was highly recommended by the funeral home that I lived and above and across the street from the flower shop that would always suggest to other clients and Families that this was a place to go. And I'm afraid to say I'm going to have to go to some where else. I've had three years plan my wedding. Everything else is paid for and completed but not having the confirmation that the arrangement in cost for estimate really bothers me. I do work and I'm not available during regular business hours. So that means I would have to take another day another 45-30 minutes and hope there's another Florist can provide me with just a bouquet of flowers for me on my wedding day. I shouldn't have to call place twice in order for me to get their business. I will consider taking this review down if I get a call back or email notification like I was told the first time the next 48 hours from today. sincerely and all I wish the people of ardomore florist benefit from their family or non-corporate businesses the best of luck. I am a wedding coordinator and I worked with Edit recently for flowers for a wedding on March 11, 2012. Edit is pretty busy juggling a very busy business and other operational duties. It is obvious they have a small staff - which sometimes requires patience on the customer's part. The fact that they are so busy is a testament to their great flowers and arrangements. From my initial contact with Edit, I was sure of one thing - she knows her trade. She was able to provide my client (the bride) with explanations about flowers and colors that I know but didn't quite know how to express to her. Since we were working on a tight budget, we started talking to vendors several months in advance. The correspondence with Edit was a little strained, but in hind sight, I understand that her priorities are orders that are coming up sooner than later. I stayed the course, which meant a few extra follow up phone calls on my part, but in the end, it was very much worth it. Edit created a beautiful bouquet for the bride and she almost cried when she saw it. Everyone at the wedding was floored by its presence and the quality of the roses. The bridesmaids' bouquets were deliberately designed with only a few flowers, just as a compliment to their dresses and a splash of color. Edit showed her expertise again with the accompanying leaves and greenery that were used to offset the flowers. It created an exotic, tranquil, and modern look that really added to the elegance of the dresses. I would definitely work with Edit and Ardmore Avenue Florists again!! It is rare these days to find a business owner that really cares about their end product as they do. read more
