On the day that I was scheduled for an estimate regarding a hardwood floor job, the weather was extremely inclement. Nevertheless, Ronald Smith, the owner, himself, showed up, and arrived on time despite the weather. Mr Smith walked me through the proposed refinishing/ limited installation job, and was very detailed regarding everything that had to be done. I was subsequently given an estimate that was both fair and reasonable. The next process involved coordinating the various stages of the job with Jennifer, Office Manager, with whom working with was a joy. She is personable, extremely knowledgeable, accommodating, and always available when contacting the office. Lastly, the refinishing/installation team was simply amazing! They arrived on time each day, did excellent work, and performed a thorough and speedy job cleaning up. Moreover, they were very polite and courteous. So ACTUALLY I don't get my FLOORS done at Ardmore Hardwood Flooring, I get my KNIVES sharpened, every year. They were my Dad's kitchen knives - so they would have to be about 100 years old since I am 73! I take them in 2 batches. And my scissors and a couple of gardening tools. Buyer beware!! We scheduled to have our floors redone with them. The estimator who came out downplayed the time required for us to be out of the house for the work to be done. Once we found out the specifics it became a logistical problem with pets. This delay cost us time. During that time a plumbing emergency arose and we had to cancel. They did not return the deposit of $625. It is in the paperwork but I indicated that if they wish for me to be a customer when I was ready they would refund the deposit. They don't care. They got my deposit but will never have me as a customer. read more

Just had the hardwood floors in our entire house sanded, stained and sealed with polyurethane. We had used Ardmore Hardwood Floors in the past, so we wanted to give them some more business. The quality of the work is very good, and the prices are reasonable. I wouldn't hesistate to recommend them. If there is a knock on this company, it is the the front office. They are friendly but somewhat disorganized. Our original quote seemed to have been lost and we were requoted at a higher price. We were able to find a copy of original quote and presented it to them. They did end up honoring the original price so all is good. read more

I called Ardmore Hardwood Floors for a quote. I was pretty disappointed. The man was over an hour late for the appointment to give me a quote. When he arrived he did not answer a single question I had about my floor other than telling me it "needed to be replaced". When I asked him how much it would cost to replace he wouldn't give me a straight answer and mostly blew me off. My husband had to pry it out of him. The amount he quoted was RIDICULOUSLY low. I cannot imagine the quote he provided would reflect a TRUE price. I found the whole appointment to be bizarre. Perhaps he didn't want my business? No idea. Oh, but he did pitch to me his knife sharpening business, he was pretty gung-ho about it. I found Ardmore Floors online, I am very grateful that I found them. They were the only flooring company that actually had someone answering the phone! Jennifer who answers the phone is very personable and courteous. I was able to set up an estimate appointment fairly quickly. The owner Ron came and gave me a fair estimate, I was able to schedule the work within weeks, I got the date that worked best for my schedule. The workers Artemio and Miguel arrived on time, and got right to work! The mess and disruption factors were kept to an absolute minimum. They were very neat, and clean. They were professional and responsive to any questions or concerns that we had, as we have never had floors refinished before. They completed the job efficiently and expertly. Everyone we spoke with was so courteous and professional, from the initial phone call, scheduling an estimate, to the final product they were attentive and friendly. Knife sharpening service is unbeatable! $4 for up to an 8" blade - man are they sharp! Overnight or while you wait. Yes they do it to hopefully get you to look at their incredible inlaid wood work and flooring. Clearly you're in the hands of true craftsmen. read more

The reason I am writing this review is because I went online to get their number to inquire about what product they used on my floors since I'm moving to Colorado and would like the same one to used on my floors there. Ardmore Hardwood refinished my floors over seven years ago and they are still in perfect condition with absolutely no wear and tear showing. However, My kitchen floors were installed and finished 5 yrs ago by Pinnacle floors (who were subcontracted by the kitchen company )and they have worn badly. Their excuse is that this area gets so much use but they could not explain why my foyer and stairs, which are uncarpeted, still looked perfect after 7 years with even more use. You won't go wrong with AH they do a great job! read more

DO NOT GET KNIVES DONE HERE !!!! they do not know how to sharpen serrated knives, called them over a dozen times left plenty of messages and no one will return my call the boss is (RON) the receptionist states she does not want to get involved, they reimbursed the sharpening cost because they know they messed up but wont replace the knives they destroyed which cost 80 $. read more

We chose Ardmore Floors to refinish the original hardwood floors in our house (built in the 1950's), and highly recommend them. They did absolutely beautiful work! Ron Smith is a liar and a crook. He is 2 hrs. late for an estimate. Then added additional costs for replacement boards, molding and moving furniture which almost doubled the price. He said they were included during the verbal agreement, but added them later to the bill. I heard now that this is a common practice with him. Then he keeps billing you after the bill is paid. He has no system for invoicing. He forgets from one minute to the next what he told you and then says you are lying. There is something wrong with this guy, but if he used to do good business, he does not now. He tries to milk every extra penny he can get and gets nasty about it when you question him. He tries to sell you knives and junk jewelry that you can buy on line for a $1. He showed me a diamond ring that was in his collection that he priced at $350. The thing looked like it came out of a bubblegum machine. It was not real gold and the diamond was fake. He swore it was real because the guy he bought from in Hong Kong said it was real. That's how stupid this guy is. Don't walk, run from hiring this thief. He will lie about everything and cheat you for every penny he can. read more

I received a final invoice which I paid in full. The job totaled $2,950 less a $150 online coupon so the final amount I paid was $2,800 for a 700-800 sq foot job. Their original proposal amount was not all-inclusive and I had to ask him on the spot to give me a better idea of the full cost which he did verbally and we agreed that the job would be in the area of $3000 give or take a hundred dollars or so. Since I received their final invoice and paid it in full on the day the job was completed, they have sent me two more "final" invoices, one arriving two weeks after the job was completed where they tried to add on additional replacement boards for another $684 (the original invoice specified 20 replacement boards) and another invoice a month after the job was completed where they tried to add on additional charges of $130 and additional time for moving furniture from and back to the original locations. I measured the number of new boards used and cannot see that their claim of 38 boards is legitimate versus 20 on their original final invoice that does seem legitimate. Additionally, it took 2 men 15 minutes to move the furniture back into the original position so I do not see that their claim of an additional $130 for moving furniture is legitimate. The bottom line is they are trying to add charges on that total an additional $764 for a total of $3,764 - substantially more than the $3,000 or so we originally discussed. It was also my impression that the owner was not keen on honoring the $150 online coupon when I made him aware that I had it at the time he prepared the proposal, but he really had no choice since the job was being done within the dates specified online and was a legitimate online offer. He also tried to claim after the job was done that the original furniture moving charges (1.5 hours for $195) on the final invoice did not include returning furniture to its original position when he verbally told me it would at the time he did the proposal. Beware of this company and their "quotes" which are not the full picture and get everything specifically in writing!!! The quality of the work is good, but because of their cagey billing practices, I will never use them again nor would I recommend them. read more
