Our floors had quite a bit of pet stains and needed some additional repairs and replacement of some planks. Ken came to give us 2 estimates (a 2nd only because we found additional damage after pulling up the carpet ourselves) and gave us a more than fair quote for the work. The crew arrived early on the first day and made sure everyone was on the same page when it came to expectations. I was able to view stain samples directly on a patch of floor that had stains to get the best idea of what color to choose. The work only took 3 days for 3 rooms and my foyer. I must admit, I didn't think I would be so in love with flooring! The natural color and grain variations are just amazing!! They look better than I could have ever imagined and Ken made sure to keep me updated every step of the way. He came by to walk through with me after the work was done and advised me how to maintain and care for the floors and went over any questions I had. Thomas Hardwood has installed new flooring for me three times throughout my home and I am finally getting around to writing them the review they rightfully deserve. I am pleased with the work every time. Ken and his team was very professional and helpful. They showed up on time if not early lol. The last job they did was my formal living room and dining room that had off white beautiful carpet (prior to kids) that was eventually destroyed post kids. Needless to say, it had to go. What amazed me the most about this last project was how they hooked us up. So there's these 12' long treads that connects the two rooms together that needed to be replaced because the original steps didn't have much support and creaks (40 yo home). Because of the length, Ken wasn't able to find a supplier. His crew ended up custom building it out of the floors we got. I didn't know it was possible but they did it! And we love it! Highly satisfied customer!! We bought a house with laminate floor that was all scratched up from the previous owner's dog. Other refinishing companies told me they couldn't do the job because there was only a thin layer of floor above the plywood. One company was going to make me sign a waiver. The team of guys was able to sand down the floor just enough to remove the finish and scratches. They mixed two stains to get the color I wanted and the finish is perfect! We had our kitchen buffed and new flooring put down in the upstairs hall. Both turned out beautiful!! The hall had a lot of damage that had to be repaired before the new floor could be put down. Also, there was an issue with the new floor being higher than the bullnose at the top of the stairs. Thomas Hardwood made it work. The floor is more stable than before the repairs and the new floor is flush at the top of the stairs. We could not be happier. They came on the scheduled date and time. We had just purchased our first house and the floors really needed to be redone, but we didn't want to spend a fortune. Ken & his team were wonderful. I consulted with Ken months in advance of a kitchen renovation. Once we removed the kitchen the floors not only needed to be refinished, but repaired, as there were missing floors under cabinets. His team feathered in new flooring, sanded the entire downstairs & stained it to perfection. You absolutely cannot tell the new from the old flooring. It looks as if it has always been there.
