Horrible service. I made an appointment to see a salesman at 12:30 p.m. on a Saturday. I checked in at 12:20. At 12:35 p.m. still waiting. No one came to me to let me know if the salesman was running late, etc. I told whoever was managing the desk that I had another appointment at 2 p.m. and was asked to come back after with no explanation of why there was a lack of sales support and why they made an appointment for me when they knew there was a support issue. I told the acting manager that I was leaving in 15 minutes if I didn't get help. About 10 minutes later I am introduced to a sales guy who proceeds to tell me he cannot find the car that I was inquiring about. Then he "found" the car at another location. Then was told that the car on the floor behind me was the same one. Thankfully I saw that car and noted that it had 10,000 more miles on it than the one I inquired about. Went back to the manager and told him about the horrendous service. To my and the salesman's surprise, he proceeds to tell us the car I inquired about is waiting for me directly outside. When I go outside, I can see chipping paint on the front bumper that is supposed to be a Toyota Certified vehicle. When asked about the chipping paint and how it was certified with that obvious problem, the salesman banged on the hood of the car to tell me that "only this stuff" is certified. I turned and left. After, I roll over to the dealership in Mt. Laurel for my 2 p.m. appt. I'm greeted at the door with my information taken and the car I'm interested in on record. The saleswoman approaches me about five minutes later. I test drive the car, ask a few questions and bought it. THIS shows the difference in service that I received in Mt. Laurel. No confusion, no trying to sell me a car with an extra 10K miles on it, no putting the responsibility on me to "come back later". If you value your time, don't like BS, confusion, lack of customer support and in some ways, total disrespect, I would recommend going to Mt. Laurel. read more

It's been months since my incident with Ardmore Toyota. Why did they just have Josh Fletcher, the clown of sales and service reach out to me again. I will be reporting him to Toyota corporate again! I will never buy another Toyota or Lexus after what I was put through. I purchased a brand new Acura the next week! They completely missed out from service to sales! Beware! We Would never consider this dealer again! All they care about is making a sale and stealing money from their consumers! My advice is to do your research and always ask for the Out the Door price of the vehicle you're interested first and foremost! The Sales person seemed like in the beginning but when me and my husband changed our minds about the sale and weren't given the out the door price of anything that quickly changed! Not even a week later, we were told we couldn't have our deposit back on a vehicle that wasn't even on their lot yet! My husband and I spoke with a salesman today. We drove 45 minutes to view one of their vehicles. Once arriving it was a complete disaster, we were left standing in an open show room for 25 minutes, and no one spoke to us while we waited, or offered us to sit and wait especially being 7 months pregnant. We went to view a similar model of the vehicle , yet the salesman didn't bring the key out nor hold the door for my husband and myself . He left us outside viewing the vehicle while he made phone calls . Among looking the vehicle over , we sat down to talk numbers in trade in. We had to ask all the questions, and push for info since he was not going to give it, or even make it seem like he was interested. He was not listening to what we were asking . Once sitting and waiting for a little bit, did he come back and tell us the "sales manager WOULD NOT SELL US THE VEHICLE DUE TO LIVING MORE THAN 30 MINUTES AWAY!" My experience was horrible. I been to multiple dealerships before coming to Ardmore Toyota. I shopped online prior to the visit and scheduled a test drive for a Rav4. I knew the exact car that I wanted and informed them as soon as I came in. I communicated with Ashley that I had my own financing and will like to see the car and do my trade in. In my over 4 hours there Ashely sat with us for 30 mins and the rest of the time she was at the mangers desk with no updates. The appraisal they did of my car was so low for a crack that was 2 inches long. Every other dealership gave me an appraisal $4,000 more for my Cadillac !! Even with them increasing the appraisal Ashely and two other men created problems surrounding my check from my bank. It was from a legit credit union named Trumark. Even after of the difficulty with the check I informed them I had to leave by 2 because I had an event to attend. They proceeded to show me cars I did not want and never did the test drive for the car I scheduled appointment for. They kept adding cost to the bill to make a way for a down payment and profitable for the dealership rather than the wants of the customer. Once I was ready to leave they said they will bring the RAV4 from another "lot" and it will take 15 mins. 30 minutes later I asked where is the car they proceeded to say it's on the way. 45 mins later I choose to leave and while I was leaving they showed me some 2018 Nissan when I came for the 2019 RAV4. I proceeded to leave to my car after staying past 3pm when I got there at 10am! Ashely came to the car saying " you going to wait for the car" when I waited 5 hours and never seen the car. I wanted to buy a new car. I walked in and said "I'd like to test drive x car" I was informed they don't have any of that car for me to test drive. They then sat me down, asked me what I had to trade in, got heavy into finance, then told me " none of that car was available at any dealerships nearby", but they "would look into it for me". They then tried to sell me cars I specifically did not want. A week went by and no contact occurred. I went to cars.com, found the EXACT car 20 miles away at Faulkner, called the dealership, secured the car that day and was able to buy on the spot. Buckle your seat belts, folks. You're in for a ride. We bought a used van from Ardmore . When we first showed up, the showed us the van but it hadn't been inspected in the shop yet, so they asked us to come back the next day to discuss price. They got it up on the lift and inspected the entire thing in a couple of hours and told us it was in tip-top shape and just needed a detailing. I think they may have rushed the inspection because we found an identical van at Conicelli that we were looking at simultaneously, and they wanted to scoop the sale. We went with the Ardmore van in the end. It came with a limited powertrain warranty. Oddly, we never saw any paperwork on it, but hey whatever. A few weeks later my husband took the van on a nice long trip to test it out. Took it to Columbus, OH. A few miles from its destination it died due to a transmission failure. We informed Ardmore Toyota and had it towed to the nearest Toyota dealership. There was no response from Ardmore for 24 hours. Luckily, I'd stayed home with the newborn. I had to physically walk into the dealership and ask to speak to the sales manager before anyone made a move to take responsibility for our car breakdown. About a week later, the paperwork for the warranty appeared in our mailbox. The date for the start of the policy was the date after we called in the failed transmission. Meaning: Ardmore never put the paperwork through, probably to save a few hundred bucks on the warranty. However, because of that delay and poor communication between the dealerships (neither of whom seemed to care about customer service on this case), it took two weeks to get our car repaired, during which time we needed to use rentals, buses, car services, and various other. Ardmore Toyota offered us a loaner sedan when we got back to Philly, and offered to reimburse us for the rental car we used in Columbus and to drive home. (Technically, this was included in the warranty; it was not an act of generosity on their part.) They did not cover Ubers or buses and did not allow us to take their loaner car to Columbus to pick up the van. In total, we probably paid $300 in transportation for this incident that they refused to reimburse. And, although it took two weeks for our car to get repaired due to their scrooging the warranty, we received almost daily calls from them asking for their loaner car back. I will mention that a friend of ours had a very similar experience; bought a car at Ardmore, had it break down within a month, and had to harass them to get it fixed. They're conveniently located and have great stock, but don't believe their hype about their inspections. Make sure to get a third-party inspection. And don't expect great customer service once you've driven off their lot. read more

A $20 thermostat at any other Toyota dealer costs $40 dollars there. If you need more of a warning they stated that I needed new upper and lower control arms during a phone call for a cost of $1500. The story changed only the lower ones when I went there, which is what they wrote on the price quote. It's been two years and nothing has broken nor can any other mechanic find anything wrong. Update: In 2013 the car needed a new front wheel axle and more recently a wheel hub was fixed. That's it, aside from usual items such as brakes and tires. This review is for their service department. They are trying to be up to snuff with other car dealerships, so the car drop off is under cover, they have valets to receive you and check in your car if you have called ahead for an appointment, they send text updates while your car is in the shop,etc. Once you get inside, the waiting area is large and clean, with coffee and vending machines with enough room to sit and be socially distant. The problems come once you get past the PR part and actually get into the service transaction. The service writer that I got was young and inexperienced, which is the opposite of what you want. I was in for annual inspection and scheduled maintenance and checks. I bought my Toyota used and it's always been dealer maintained, so they have all the records right on the computer in front of them. First problem, writer said I'd need an oil change, since it's been 3000 miles, but the car has synthetic oil that is rated for 10,000 miles so I declined. Writer says the car does not require synthetic, which is why he recommended the oil change, which doesn't make sense. Next problem, car was overdue for new spark plugs, which are rated for 30K miles and I'm way beyond that. I wanted to upgrade to platinum plugs, they last longer. Glad I always ask how much, I was quoted $24 each, for plugs (Bosch) that sell for $3.95 on Rock Auto. When I pointed that out, the writer shows me on a current work order that they charge $10 for OE (original equipment) plugs, Autolites, which go for $1.46. I'm detecting a pattern here, so I decline. I leave the car there rather than wait the 2 hours estimated to do the inspection. Get a call that I need a brake caliper replacement or it won't pass. Glad I went home, as it won't be done until the next day. $365 for the part which I later find on Rock Auto (similar at other places) for $87. Obviously big rip off, not going back there as I can't trust them. I don't have any idea k of the work that was done was done properly,I would hope so as it was a simple job. read more

Ambience is very good along with play stations such as BaseBall, Legos for kids. A sales person called Will received us and started looking into our requirements. This man is so patient that we annoyed him too much while bargaining but still he kept his temper cool and discussed multiple times with his manager. Finally, we made it at a good price. I'd say $500 below than best price. Two things that are annoyed me are: Inventory is located in upstairs and we have to go all the way through elevator to see them. Once you come back, you will not feel to go back as it is far. This person Will is using 1990's keyboard and he is not using mouse. Don't bother making an appointment on Saturday for basic service (oil change and tire rotation) unless you have 3 hrs to waste. I gave Ardmore a shot after moving to the area because I had purchased an extended maintenance plan when I bought the car 3 years ago in another state. My first visit took long because of a paper work snaffu and because the apologies were so genuine I returned for my next scheduled visit. I had a very positive experience years ago here, so came back to get a 3 year Prius lease. The dealership overall is modern and friendly, but man - once something went wrong it was a RARE display of unprofessionalism. Text messages, phone calls and emails unreturned. Set deadlines themselves that they then broke, without a proactive follow up, just left me in the dark. Very passive aggressive throughout and communication was inconsistent and seemingly purposefully vague. I was happiest in the end when they let me just return the car and I could go somewhere else, for this I do commend them. As a person who leases vehicles and expects to deal with the dealership quite a bit, but especially when something goes wrong - friendly, good faith professionalism is the biggest thing I look for. From the first time I walked in to the day I went to pick up my car, the process was so easy and I felt like the staff was there to help me along every way. The sales staff was very professional and my salesperson, Londale, was extremely helpful and made sure I was happy with the process. Cliff, who is one of the sales managers, helped me get the price I wanted and I was extremely satisfied! Yes, the waiting times can be long (I was there for 5 hours on the day I went to pick up my new car because it was so busy), but the staff was attentive and kept me updated on what was going on and how much longer it would be. This review is posted very late. I got my Camry XLE in March 2010 (over 10 years ago) and the whole buying experience was extremely smooth. The salesperson was Steve Reese and I do remember him till date, he was so very professional! In these 10 years, I have relocated from PA to Chicago area, then northern California and finally to Los Angeles area. This car went with me everywhere. Even after 10 years, it was an extremely smooth car, much quieter and comfortable than several contemporary cars. I just sold the car to a very nice family and it went for a very good price. Since I keep my cars for about 10 years, my family decided to go in for an electric car and I just bought a Tesla Model Y; but the ride quality of this 10 year old car was better in my opinion! Had Toyota introduced a complete electric Camry I would have bought it in a heartbeat, and would have asked for help from Steve even though I am now across the other end of the Country! Also another interesting fact: At time of Camry purchase, it was late in night, cold after dark and an African-American gentleman was working hard waxing my car. I did not get an opportunity to thank him but want to acknowledge his work was excellent. Till the time I owned the car, I always kept it waxed. Also, Ardmore Toyota had kept a complementary hand sanitizer in the center console of the car which I never used. 10 years after purchase, at time of coronavirus outbreak & at time of sanitizer shortage, I somehow found the bottle in the car. So my wife and I went to Ardmore Toyota to purchase a 2020 Toyota Camry that was to be ready for us to test drive. When we arrived in the morning the car was NOT at Ardmore toyota but at Central City Toyota? They asked us if we would travel to Central city toyota and test drive but buy from Ardmore Toyota? We asked that they please bring it to us and we had to wait 2 hours for the car to be delvered. It wasn't cleaned or ready to be test driven but it was in immaculate shape. Spent over 6 hours at Ardmore toyota waiting for the paperwork and other crap that needed to be accomplished prior to taking ownership. Worst car buying experience I have ever had in my life!! If Armore Toyota was the last car dealer left on earth I would walk before buying from them ever again!! A year later and I had an issue with the tire and discovered the car was sold to us without a jack? I checked with Ardmore and left 2 messages but have never recieved a call back. An OEM jack is $170.00 and realize that's prbably why no call back! I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!!!! read more

Honestly I would give this business a negative star if I could. The age of pandemic has created rampant dealership bad business practice ultimately leading to their pricing power. One of the bad practices is not even the inability to negotiate prices, but the $500 deposit itself you pay to "reserve" your car. As stated by PA law a dealership cannot keep your deposit if a buyer changes his/her mind. However, the sales and manager at this business force their customers to not look for other cars at other establishments if a $500 deposit is made during the 2+ months of waiting for the car to arrive. At one point I was threatened by the manager that I would not get my deposit back if I look at other cars. This egregious and disgusting practice must be abolished. We live in a capitalistic society and yet this business forces the customer to take all the risks in a business. Bad business practice surely prevails at this establishment and beyond. Having said that I have taken my money elsewhere today and gotten a nice car with no waiting time. I will not come back here again. read more

But when he goes to sign contract, your family member will be given sale form with different VIN and cheaper version of that car like V6. Looks same, in same color but different under hood and it's cheaper by few thousands. That's one way they steal money from people who trust them. I have been going there for a very long time and I think I am a royal customer. I love the services there. As usual I took my car for a check up. I also loved checking in on Yelp so I could get a $5 Starbucks gift car, not a coffee drinker but why not if they offer. And this time I did again ( I was there about two months ago and got one) and showed it to one of the girls behind the counter, she said I already got it last time, so this time I don't get it. I asked her so how often you could get? One a year or one in your life time? she could not answer that and there was nothing to indicate that on the little poster that they had it on the counter. I felt disappointed and insulted in someway. I paid for the service, I should have been able to claim for the card as it said. To add a cherry on top of that, I took care of the payment and she did not even call my car number for me. I waited outside and one of those velvet guys came around and asked for my car number , and saying he could not hear what she was saying, obviously she did not call for my car number. Either dont care or are crazy incompetent- either way the customer loses. My wife purchased a car and they gave her a bad 2nd key. After realizing key was bad they asked she make an appointment for them to correct. I am writing this while she is there- she has been waiting there for two hours!!!! They give a bad key, force you to make an appointment and then keep you waiting two hours and counting! Come on. The key just needs a new battery! They lose a customer over a key. I had a great experience at Ardmore Toyota. The last time I purchased a new car was in 2001; a 2001 Mazda Protege. It was time for a new car and I settled on the 2017 Yaris iA. It's an awesome, fun to drive car, smart looking car loaded with technology and standard safety enhancements in addition to being terrific on gas. My salesperson, Theresa Wainright was wonderful; so professional, knowledgeable and patient. I really appreciated her. The management was great also - no games. I was in and out in about 2.5 hrs and that's great timing for a dealership. This was my first visit and I left with my car within a relatively short amount of time verses the tremendous going back and forth at the average dealership. Although my experience did not directly involve the dealership, I wanted to share the kindness and professionalism of one of the Ardmore Toyota associates, Caleb. My daughter is a beginning driver and unfortunately drove over a curb where a large piece of scrap metal had been discarded. The passenger rear tire had been sliced open. We were right by an empty parking lot in Lansdowne, a few minutes from home and I was in the process of setting up the jack to remove the tire and put the spare on when a young man approached and generously insisted on helping. It was about 7:15 pm and he was on his way home from work and wearing his Central City Toyota shirt. He was so kind and explained everything he was doing to my daughter as well as sharing his own mishaps when learning to drive. He had the spare on in 10 minutes and even checked the tire pressure to make sure we'd be safe. It was such an unexpected instance of thoughtfulness and courtesy that although I don't currently drive a Toyota, when the time comes for a new car, I will definitely remember to look at Ardmore Toyota. From our first conversation through the test drive and negotiations he was extremely polite, professional and perhaps one of the nicest individuals we have met in a long time. My experience was the same as Ryan J (his review is posted a few below). Arrived on time for my appointment to have the oil changed and tires rotated. I was told by the service advisor it would be a maximum wait of 2 hours. For the next 3 hours I watched people come in 30, 60 and 90 minutes after me, check in, get their cars serviced and leave. After over 2 hours waiting, the advisor told me it would be another 15 minutes. What he didn't tell me was that the car was just being pulled in for service. That 15 minutes turned to 50 minutes. No remorse. On the paperwork at checkout, there is statement that if you are not satisfied to call. I called that number and left a message. No return phone call. My experience at Ardmore Toyota was excellent until they got my money. read more

My daughter purchased her first new car and had to spend over 3 hrs the day she went to pick it up . She purchased the car almost a month ago , had to pay full price and was paying cash for the car and had to wait a month for the car to come in. She was talked into financing the car to begin with so she could qualify for the college reimbursement, which was $500 . When she got the call that the car was in she was told she couldn't get it unless it was put on her insurance asap. This makes no sense because you have 48hrs to get the car insured and considering this pick up was on a Saturday this was no easy feat to get done . Once that problem was resolved they told her the website for the college reimbursement wasn't working and she would have to wait longer for the car or pay them the 500 dollars . This dealership was a huge disappointment and we will never go back and I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Avoid avoid avoid. All of this has been said before. If I could give this business 0 stars, I would. The bad: Upselling...I have an old car, so sometimes new parts are necessary, and at some level, I appreciate being told when I *might* want to replace something that's not completely necessary or required to pass inspection, but when it happens every time I start to feel like i'm being cheated. Then I start to resist repair recommendations, which is stupid, because I should be trusting the person to whom my 2 ton ball of steel is given for servicing. Timing...Simply put, appointments are a sham here. The time slot you "sign up" for is not honored. I have routine service here and for as long as I can remember over at least the past three years, I have to call in advance of the time I stated for the car as "need by"in order to make sure they are working on it. Inevitably, they aren't. Most recently, I called 90 minutes in advance of the need by time, only to be told my service advisor would call me back shortly (he didn't). When the need by time came around, I tried calling again. Predictably, the car was not ready, and wouldn't be for another 2 hours. Not only is this unacceptable, it presumes I have no actual need for my car and nothing better to do with my time. It seems as though people who wait in the lobby for the work to be done are attended to first, but even they have to commit a whole day to sitting around waiting. If appointment times are not honored and need by times are ignored, there is no point to signing up for a time slot in advance, and the company should just tell you to leave your car there for 24 hours and give everyone in for service a loaner for the day. They excused their lateness this last time by saying a lot of cars were in before mine. I have had even more difficulty getting my car on time when I make a weekend appointment, so if you can't even get it done in the middle of the week, there's no hope. A dozen people also apologized meaninglessly throughout the process - the secretaries at the desk are pleasant enough, as are the service advisors themselves on the phone, although they lie to you and don't answer a question directly and ignore you and your car until you harass them sufficiently. I don't want an apology. I want the work to be done when they say it would be done. I want the work done well, too. Which leads me to my next point. Service performance...After multiple service visits, both for routine items and for critical repairs, I have had to take the car back in for everything ranging from an overlooked dead lightbulb in a blinker to more serious errors which I will not repeat. Inevitably, someone does fix the problem, so I know they have competent staff, but they are overworking them during the day or leaving them inadequate time to perform the services properly. I see likely overlap between this service issue and the timing issue, but I think they need to do some serious restructuring of the business model in order to address both. Service advisors...I have spoken to people who are incapable of effectively communicating either on the phone or in person. Between them giving you the runaround to try to avoid a conflict about their timing issues, and their inability to directly answer customer's questions or address particular requests, they may as well have no service advisors at all. If I could get the actual service worker from the garage on the phone, I'd have a better chance of receiving "service." I have also had difficulty ordering Parts. Phone calls...They do not answer their phone. They ignore it for the last 20 minutes of the service day, and when someone finally answered at 7:25 they confusingly explained that of course the service advisors weren't answering phones to make appointments because the department closed at 7:30. Worse than not answering, they have added automated robots to call you at 9:30am to remind you of service appointments, which is a rude and unnecessarily invasive spam. They also left repeated messages on my machine hoping to apologize for a prior service issue. I don't want an apology. I want it done right. ... Yelp only permits 5001 words in a review, or else I would go on. The good: I like Toyota as a brand, and I like my Toyota as a car. I would like to buy another one eventually. I hope before I do, another alternative Toyota dealership opens up closer than the Northeast or Center City (which is owned by the same people anyway, so I wouldn't want to take my car there for service either). This dealership is shooting itself in the foot with poor service because many people in the area including myself will look to competitor brands of vehicles for their next new car purchase if something significant and all-encompassing doesn't change. They try to scam you at every opportunity at this service center - everything is priced over and above where it needs to be for labor. The labor cost is usually 5x the cost of the part here even if it takes them only an hour to fix. They come up with strange stories to say that multiple people had to spend half a day changing air filters etc. dishonest all around on the labor costs. Sadly, as this is the only Toyota within a 5 mile radius of where I live, so I'm left with no choice and I let myself get scammed over and over again. What scumbags recommending stuff you don't need! As they say, only take your car to the dealer when absolutely necessary and then only get the minimum work done. Anything else the slime suckers recommend, go to another mechanic and get a second opinion. Chances are it is not needed! I know it sounds harsh, but this is exactly what happened. Several times. I had always gotten my truck serviced here at regular intervals and during the last year the service has gone steeply downhill, For starters, a few months ago, i had my truck in for brakes and after the work was completed, there was a rotational grinding sound that took me 2-3 return trips before the service techs could peoperly diagnose and fix. In addition to that i had a blinker bulb go out that was working intermittently. After taking a half day off work to get it looked at, i kid you not, as i drove my truck off the lot, the problem had returned. End result was a bad bulb but it was another hour in the shop to fix and had anyone actually looked at it the first time, it could have been fixed on the spot. To top things off, my most recent visit i requested that my state registration be renewed. Their tag office in the sales dept had done it before and the service guy said he could take care of it. When i pick my truck up, the sales guy was gone and the cashiers acted like i was from Mars when i asked about my tag renewal.
