I made an appointment here for a recall notice on my Yaris. I was told when I made the appointment that it would take approximately 1 hour. I arrived on time for my appointment and signed in, and was told that it would take 2 hours. Annoying, but I was already there, so I agreed. 2 hours later, I went up to the front desk to ask when it would be ready, and they said 20 more minutes. 2 1/2 hours after arriving when I asked again, it still wasn't ready. It took almost 3 hours before they returned my car, and told me the paperwork would take another 30min. They agreed to let me take my car and they would mail me the paperwork. They said the reason for the delay was because they were so busy (which they were) but that's the whole reason I made an appointment! I don't think they understand how appointments work. At every other mechanic I've been to, people with appointments go first, and walk-ins have to wait. That is not how Ardmore Toyota does things. I was treated like I was a walk-in. Totally unprofessional and a waste of my time. The only upside to the whole thing was that they had a nice waiting room (compared to other mechanics). Their title department messed up my title transfer and then failed to notify me of their error, resulting in me getting pulled over for not having a registered car. They were rude, the manager, Kim, lied and claimed she had sent the documents to the DMV and I would just have to wait, when in fact, she hadn't sent the documents to any DMV anywhere. Then she refused to do anything to remedy the situation. I had to contact the owner to get the matter fixed. I hope the GM, Kim, has since been let go. Hadn't bought a car from a dealership in about 15 years, so I did a ton of research before venturing out. Wound up going to 3 different dealerships to test drive. And this was by far the best. We were greeted immediately and they were having a barbeque inside the dealership! Our salesperson was very nice and low pressure. Let's just say we did not have the same experience at the other 2 places. We wound up getting a really good deal on a used Prius from Ardmore Toyota and couldn't be happier with the car or the service. read more

Make it zero stars! I paid sticker for a Pius III plus a leather upgrade promised to be identical to or better than factory leather in every respect except without lumbar adjustment. Turns out my car lacks a leather steering wheel and the seat heat switches are on the sides of the seats rather than the console. I have spent 3 months trying to get what I paid for and received nothing but grief. The reasons Ardmore Toyota refuses to make this right include: 1) I gave them a negative review on Toyota's post sale survey, 2) They don't think it is worth the money and effort to fix and 3) They don't like my attitude. The general manager, Robert C., even said he doesn't think all "mistakes" need to be corrected, such as if his cashier shortchanges a customer he doesn't think the money needs to be returned. This place should change its name to "talk is cheap" the car salesmen here doesn't care about you at all. They bullshit you into buying useless things. When you sit down with them to talk about the vehicle and the price, they make everything sound so sweet. Once you agree on it, and leave a deposit. Never will you heard from them again. They might say they'll call you in a couple days or a week, lol nope. "I promise to call you next week", like my ass you will. You would have to call them back instead of waiting for a call from them. Other Toyota dealerships are pretty persistent and actually will call you back. If buying a car to you is to leave a deposit, wait forever, then just maybe getting that car. Come to this place. It's just that lovely here. Do not get excessive wear and tear protection on the vehicle. They tell you that you can ding the car and get into an accident and will not need to be liable for it. THIS IS FALSE. Excessive wear and tear will only cover certain types of damages such as door dings, and nothing more. If someone bumps into your vehicle while it is parked, you are still responsible for that. Someone kicks your car in? You are still responsible for that. My lease was supposed to be $290. They bumped it up by another $100 because they told me the excessive wear and tear coverage would cover everything. I agreed to do that because I lived in the city and the idea of not being liable for additional damages sounded like a great deal. This is so false. I went in the the dealer today and they said I am responsible for all damages and excessive wear and tear is not covered. Additionally, at the end of the lease, I would still have to pay close to MSRP for a brand new Prius 2013. In short: this place is out to get you. Do not get any added coverage on the vehicle. They are just trying to get more money out of you. Additionally, before signing anything, ask what the payoff price for the vehicle is if you decide you want to keep it. Because they will try to screw you over that way as well. I will never trust Toyota, and this location again. read more

I called ahead to schedule a test drive for a used car. The day before, they left me a voicemail reminding me of my appointment and requested that I call back to confirm that I had received the message. I called, and after being transferred three times, the man seemed incredulous that I was even calling back and seemed to have no idea who I was. That should have been a tip-off. The next day I drove all the way out to the location (which is not that close to my house). I'm here for an appointment with Steve, I tell them. "Which Steve?" You're the ones who made the appointment, shouldn't you know? I ended up being seated with a different salesperson who asks me which car I was interested in seeing...again, you took my information when I called. Didn't anyone save this information? He told me that it's a nice car and it's been pretty popular and walked away for about ten minutes to see where it's parked. He came back and told me it was already sold. Really? You couldn't have given me the courtesy of a phone call before I drove all the way out to your location? He asked if I was interested in anything else, and the whole thing just seemed like a poor attempt at a bait-and-switch. After that ordeal I won't be going back here again. If you do insist on coming here for a used car, call before you leave to make sure what you want is still in stock. They don't have the courtesy to do it themselves. read more

My experience coincides pretty well with Sandy D.'s. Scheduled an appointment online so that worked out great. It warns to arrive on time to provide the most efficient service possible. So a 10:30am appointment with a shuttle scheduled. It took 30 minutes to get my information all in; 23 minutes was waiting as there were two people in line in front of me. I requested a shuttle when making the appointment but at that time, the shuttle had left, and after reminding that I requested a shuttle, which I mentioned at the beginning of being checked in, was told I needed to fill out another form requesting a shuttle. I believe it was 11:34am when I got picked up. The driver was very nice and personable, the cashier he was getting permissions from, Bernadette, not so much. It felt very much like disgruntlement and like I was really imposing from her words and expressions. It was 1:30pm when I was done and requested a shuttle back and 2:30pm when I got the phone call that my car was done. A 2.5-3 hour wait seems ridiculous for an oil change. So yeah, really long wait time even for mundane/routine things Avoid Bernadette if you can, although she was more pleasant at check out. The bill also mentioned a multipoint inspection but some dealerships include a checklist/rundown, a courtesy which I enjoy, but which admittedly could be as easily cobbled together as throwing on a line item (multipoint inspection) read more

I had a pretty good experience purchasing my certified preowned Prius from Ardmore Toyota. My sales associate was very knowledgable and helpful during the process. I was able to trade in my vehicle even though it was not present and needed a big repair. The price they gave me was fair compared with the BB value and work that needed to be done. After picking up the vehicle the next day, I noticed two things were missing from the vehicle: floor mats and a cargo cover. They gave me mats the next day and I got a cargo cover two days later. Management does seem to be concerned about customer satisfaction, so I would definitely bring up any issues to them. I've had my Prius for a couple weeks now and I am very happy with my purchase. The vehicle has surpassed my expectations and I hope to own it for many years without any major issues. My review is based on my sales experience and I'll be sure to post any follow-ups when I take my car in for maintenance. Just remember that most of the people who have good experiences probably don't post on Yelp. I took my car to the dealership to be inspected and they would not give me the safety inspection sticker because they said I needed to replace something that would cost me $800, only to find out when I took my car to an auto repair place a friend recommended, that what Toyota insisted I needed was in perfect shape and I did not need this at all, and this auto repair place provided the safety sticker right away! This dealership is dishonest and crooked, and only looking to take advantage of innocent people! Therefore, I recommend that you stay away from this dealership! read more

I would reccomend asking for Theresa if you're going into Ardmore Toyota. The bad: I was a repeat customer and they lost my business over $300.00 for a used car I was going to buy. Obviously there's not a great deal of customer loyalty here. This is my neighborhood dealer but I went to Sloane Toyota in NE Phila and got a better deal. He was very low pressure and very laid back. Of course he was there to make a sale, but he didnt come off pushy. On March 2nd, I went to Ardmore Toyota through Costco's Used Car Purchase Program. Costco selects the dealers and the dealers have "select" used cars for sale to Costco members at discount prices. I went in and the person I needed to contact was not available and I got diverted to a different sales person. He had a list. . . of all the cars at the dealership and their prices. Nothing to do with Costco, just a list. I found a suitable car and proceeded to the sales portion of the deal. Nothing special there. The Costco pricing meant little or nothing and I found myself bargaining on my own. We finally reached an agreement and I bought the car. Or so I thought. I gave them a check for the full amount (a mistake) and waited to take possession of the car. They couldn't find the title. Must be lost. No, it was bought out of state and the title needed to be transferred from Delaware to Pennsylvania. Can't do it today. Couldn't do it the next day because of bad weather. Maybe on the 5th or 6th. Lots of excuses and assurances that their crack team of specialists were on the job. After a week I wanted out of the deal. I finally got a call on March 13th that the title would probably be in and I might be able to pick up the car on Saturday, the 14th. Late in the day on the 14th, I FINALLY picked up the car. I know it's a used car and probably not a big transaction for a large dealership, but this was a very big purchase for me. I was discouraged by the length of time it took to get my car. Almost two weeks! I was disappointed to see they only had one key for the car. Sorry. Spare keys are very expensive. So sorry about the wait. Those things happen you know. We are "really sorry for this inconvenience and we will definitely do something to keep you happy". Maybe a free tank of gas. Well that never happened either. I called a couple times, left emails and voice mails. No answer. No return calls. They were not all that interested in keeping me happy. I wasn't all that happy. If you don't value your money they will certainly take it. I dropped my 2010 Toyota Prius off on 7/10 because the check hybrid system light was on. They quoted me on maintenance that will cost about $900, but then suggested some other maintenance things that brought the price up to $1,700. I paid that thinking my car would be all set. I pick up the car on 7/9. On 7/14 my check engine light returns. They kindly offered to reassess the vehicle, but then tell me another separate issue has come about and it's going to cost about $1,000 to fix. The gentleman on the phone even tells me it's just a separate coincidence. I've heard rumors about these places but to see it in action is really disappointing. "Waited" for my service (normal fluids and general checkup) both wandering around Ardmore and in the clean waiting room. An hour later, I returned and inquired about the status. Recently i took my vehicle in because the the check engine light was on, the mechanic said that some sort of rotten had chewed my main engine harness and it had to be replaced ($594). I was preparing to purchase a car after looking online at a few dealers I came across Ardmore Toyota. During COVID it's known that most places go by appointment, I called the dealer to see if the car I liked was still on the lot the women checked and was able to make an appointment for the following morning. My "car salesman" which I put in quotes because he was not your typical car salesman was a representative named TJ. TJ was very welcoming from hello, he went over how this dealership works and was not pushy at all. I showed him a printout of the vehicle I was interested in getting a Nissan Altima. I did not feel pressured to looking at other cars that were more expensive or to purchase a car right away. We sat and talked for about 10 minutes then we took the car for a test drive. Even during the drive TJ did not push the car on me it did not feel like a sale. Once the test drive was over my decision was made I'm getting this car! The process was easy not long and daunting like purchasing a car normally is, TJ made me feel very comfortable and constantly kept me updated on what was going on which I appreciate(nothing is worse than sitting around and no one telling you what is happening) The whole process took about 2 1/2 hours. Before the car was ready to drive off they took it to service to give it one final look also to clean and sanitize it,they noticed one tire censor was reading different, instead of Toyota trying to fix it TJ made an appointment for me to bring the car back the next week so they can take it to Nissan and have them look at it and fix it AT NO EXTRA CHARGE they also offer a Lyft to take you home once you drop it off if you do not want to wait and a Lyft back, I chose to wait. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend TJ. The only problem I have is there was only one key given to me, I NEED 2 keys I asked twice for the extra one and have not heard back yet I will call again. read more

When my husband and I walked into Ardmore Toyota this past Saturday we were not planning on walking out with a new car, but thanks to a great sales rep, Carl, we were happily finalizing a deal on our new Toyota Prius that afternoon. Carl was knowledgeable, honest and patient with us throughout the whole process. We tested multiple cars, knowing we were interested in hybrids and Carl advised of us the differences of each and we became more serious about our decision once we drove the Prius. We had driven one before however it seemed different this time and we were sold. Being our first car buying experience, we were very cautious with our decision and wanted to make sure we were getting exactly what I wanted for a reasonable price. We were able to obtain a great discount using our Costco membership and found the Prius that had all the features we wanted - sunroof, solar panels, leather-like seats, etc. We were pleased with everyones patience during the experience and having a sales team that worked with us on the numbers for the new car as well as our trade in value. We chose a color that was unavailable at the Ardmore location but by Tuesday evening the car we chose had arrived from Princeton, NJ with a mere 50 miles on it - we could not have been happier. We also worked with Damon who was a nice guy and technology expert who showed us around our new Prius. Damon told us all of the features and assisted us to set up some bluetooth features. Damon was extremely knowledgeable and well versed in all the Toyota products and features. We had a great experience with all whom we worked with - from Damon telling us about the car technology, Carl spending time with us throughout the whole experience and creating the sales deal and Justin, the sales manager assisting in closing the deal and getting us a reasonable deal. The folks at Ardmore Toyota made good on the previously bad service I received. They took the time to speak to me on several occasions regarding my experience. I was also told they made strides to improve the service side I had experienced previously. I recently went in for my first check up on my new Toyota Corolla and I was in and out without a problem. Josh was very friendly and took great care to explain everything that happened with my vehicle during my visit. They have definitely improved-- however once turning in my vehichle in another state i was flat out told that we were taken advantage of by our previous dealership. Stay away from these guys!! FIVE STAR SERVICE. A couple of years ago I had written a review for Ardmore Toyota's Sales Floor and my experiences there. Now that I've owned my 4runner for the past couple of years, I think a review of their service department is long overdue. I can say, without hesitation, that their service staff is absolute fantastic. Whenever I pull up to the service department, I'm always greeted by the valet, who are always incredibly kind and welcoming. They give me a ticket, i hop out of my truck, they pull the truck away and i take my ticket to someone at the service desk to go over whatever i need to discuss with them regarding why my truck is in there on that particular day. The waiting area is huge and very clean. There's always free coffee which is a bonus if you're waiting around, and there are always tons of magazines and huge flat screens to help you pass the time. I've even comfortably gotten work done there while i waited, as they have small work stations for laptops. Dont want to wait around if your service is going to take a while? No problem. They have shuttles that will take you right to your front door and pick you up when your vehicle is ready. Now, I'm not sure if this benefit applies to all or if it is only for those who have purchased their vehicles there. This is indeed something they do for me all the time and it is extremely awesome. Josh, the service manager is always incredibly thorough and very friendly. I've been to service departments where employees are yelling and shouting and just plain miserable. Everyone at Ardmore Toyota Service is always top notch professional. They never oversell their services and their rates are fair. They take care of whatever you need, and will never force anything on you. Not only that, but they want to make sure you're happy. The service technicians are all very courteous as well. If you have any questions about the work they did, they answer them all. My truck was most recently worked on by Jarrett, and he did a great job and answered all of my questions. Bottom line. You can trust these guys. They are not only respectful to one another on the floor and in the shop, but they are all very respectful of all the customers they serve. Toyota of Ardmore Re: 2008 Jeep Wrangler X I have wait quite a few months to allow the Toyota of Ardmore to respond to my request for some sort of restitution to the issues I have experienced with the 2008 Jeep Wrangler I purchased from them on 1/12/2019. I have not received any response to my previous emails to the manager of used cars, Dan McBrearty. He is aware of the issue we will refer to as the "death wobble" which is when the front wheels go crazy upon reaching approximately 55 to 60 miles per hour This is what I have experiencing with this vehicle When I test drove this vehicle, I was not able to get above 45 miles per hour since we were driving on roads around your dealership. Any highways, which would have allowed me to test drive this vehicle are not close to this dealership. I understand that I purchased this vehicle on an "as is" understanding, however, this vehicle was not safe to drive on any highway and never should have passed a state inspection. The main reason I decided to purchase this vehicle from this dealership is that I felt since they seem to run a prominent and successful dealership, I felt better buying from them as opposed to some corner car lot sprinkled through the area. I was assured by Frank, my salesman, that the dealership performed a state inspection on this vehicle and it passed with flying colors so I felt safe buying this vehicle due to this statement. He even produced a car fax report and the vehicle inspection paperwork The fact that this vehicle passed inspection, was obviously not the case. There is no way this vehicle should have padded any sort of state inspection I have not been able to drive this vehicle since I purchased it. It has been at my mechanic since I drove it there on 1/14/19 They are going by the recommended steps directed by Chrysler with respect to this issue This is what they have done so far: High speed wheel balancing New steering stabilizer New track bar New control arms So far, none of these replacement parts have solved the issue. The next step is to replace the tie rods and from there, ball joints I trust this mechanic with every other vehicle I have purchased I have been dealing with them for years and they know what they are doing When I first notified Frank of this issue, all he kept saying is that I bought it "as is" He flat out refused to try to rectify this issue. In fact, he was quite rude when I brought up the issues I experienced. I have purchased many vehicles on an "as is" understanding I understand the issues that could arise associated with buying a vehicle under this statement I understand that a vehicle may need tires, brakes, maybe some bodywork or some engine part of some sort, but always was able to at least drive said vehicle safely on roads This vehicle is under no circumstances safe to drive and it my contention that this issue should have been caught by your dealership during state inspection. I was barely on 476 upon leaving the dealership when the "death wobble" occurred. If you are not familiar with this issue, the vehicle becomes impossible to control. If you are curious, just look up "death wobble" on you tube. The dealerships contention is that they did not know when the issue occurred, like it happened all of a sudden after a few miles away from your dealership. This issue is not something that all of a sudden occurs. It happens subtly over time and is difficult to remedy Again, I say that this issue should have been remedied at the dealership prior to any sale. It should be the responsibility of a dealership with their standing to at the very least, assure that any vehicle sold by them is a least safe to drive and not a death trap. On a less important issue, the right side turn signal works intermittently which is another issue that should have been solved at the dealership in order to pass inspection. Again, when a so called reputable dealership tells you that a particular vehicle passed a state inspection, you should feel confident that said vehicle is at the very least safe to drive. I am writing this review to warn any other potential buyers of used cars from this dealership to be aware of my issue and possibly same them from anything like I have experienced from this dealership. I had both a good and bad experience with Ardmore Toyota. I'll start with the good. The good bits were that the car was fixed. It has performed flawlessly for a few months since the repair, without issue. I genuinely felt like the folks assigned to fix the car, both the mechanic and the service supervisor, genuinely cared for and wanted to fix the car. I also appreciated the effort put forth towards it, and felt they went out of their way to make sure I was happy at the end of the day. The service center was clean, had adequate seating, and the people behind the counter always seemed quite pleasant. The bad was .. well, mostly out of their control. My car needed a rather uncommon part (I guess), and they had to special order it. It took a long time to get the part, and as such the repair took a lot longer then not. It also was not diagnosed properly twice, and thus needed to come back. However they took responsibility for that, at no extra cost, so there is that. In the end, a specialist had to be flown in (also took a while) for a proper diagnostic. I guess I should be flattered they went to such efforts to make sure the car was fixed, so you could chalk that up as both a good and bad thing. The slightly understandable, but still annoying was .. because of the excessive repair time, I had to rent a car briefly because I had a loaner for too long. Given the mileage put on it, I don't blame them. But that was expensive. read more

Everyone at the dealership greeted us kindly and remembered us by name when we returned. They were all professional, respectful and understood our needs and worked hard to meet them. We especially had a good experience with Londale, Sheldon, Tom & Peter. We bought a beautiful blizzard pearl 2015 highlander and love it! Brought my 2016 hybrid Rav 4 in to have the exterior rubber around the sunroof evaluated as it was cracking and falling off. The car was still under warranty and I was told the rubber cracking was caused by rodents and that they could see gnawing and claw marks on the roof. They said it was not covered under warranty and that a new glass had to be ordered and if I wanted to order the glass. I declined and respectfully disagreed with their assessment as I did not see any claw or gnawing marks. I decided to take the car to another Toyota dealer in NJ who I've dealt with in the past and they agreed with my assessment and replaced the gasket under warranty. No new glass needed to be ordered as Ardmore suggested. It was just a gasket replacement which took about 2 hours. My family has purchased over 9 toyota vehicles over the past years and I now know who I will be dealing with in the future. Not Ardmore. read more

This Toyota dealership is the best. I just graduated college, never had a credit card or never build a credit score. They did an unbelievable job of getting me a car through a Toyota program and I was able to get out of there with a brand new car. Before going to Ardmore, I went to four dealerships and ALL of them denied me. They are great with the customers. I had hands down one of the greatest sales person's in the industry (this was my 4th visit to a Toyota dealership in a one week visit). Londale was extremely knowledgable about all of the vehicles, financing and warranties. Additionally, he was extremely courteous, professional and patient (this was key in my decision). i purchased a certified used vehicle and could not be happier with my decision and the service I received. Our experience was like a nightmare. We first came to test drive a car about 3 weeks ago. We were pressured and pressured to sign, first by the sales person, then by his manager. We politely declined. We never buy large ticket items without talking it over and looking carefully at the cost and the items that make up the cost. We discovered that on the balance sheet tax for the vehicle was more than $500 over 6 %, which is the legitimate number for tax on new vehicles. After being badgered and hounded for weeks by email and phone to buy a car, we returned last week to buy a car. We were made to wait for 2 hours while the sales person ducked in and out of several tables of clients. I had a fever and the flu. However, two hours was apparently not long enough to get the paperwork finished. We were forced to return the next day to sign the paperwork--which was still not finished. Again we were forced to stay almost 2 hours. Even as we were driving away, our sales person was rushing new papers out for us to sign. But the most shocking aspect of the experience was that ONCE AGAIN THE TAX FIGURE ON THE BALANCE SHEET WAS $500 MORE THAN 6%. Perhaps many of new car clients do not check the math for the tax, and I can only presume they become victims of fraud. It is a sad joke to call the Paul outfit a "family organization". read more

Exceptional car buying experience!!! I have purchased new cars from BMW, Lexus, Subaru and a used from Mercedes; by far, Ardmore Toyota exceeds all of them!! I would recommend anyone considering buying a Toyota to start at Ardmore, you should not need to go anywhere else. I went to Ardmore to look at a 2014, 4Runner in person as I had done all of my research on-line and was ready to buy but had not seen it in yet. I intended to look at the 4Runner on the lot and visit another dealer to see a different color choice. I stayed and bought the one I liked. Will Duncan, Mike (at the deal desk) and Jason (lot attendant) were execeptional. Ardmore did not have the color and 3rd row option I wanted, but in 15 minutes Mike and Jason found it and grabbed the allocation while it was in-transit. Not only did they commit to having it for me on 12/26 for a trip; Will drove to NY to pick it up and had it ready for me the same day. The time crunch and paperwork were the only challenges and they gave me a great deal on my Lexus trade-in and met my financing requirments and no "typical car salesperson games". read more
