I almost gave up on having extensions and was going to just have them taken out after multiple bad experiences with a few different salons that had cause me so much breakage. I came here as a last straw at keeping in the hair I'd already spent so much money on and it did not disappoint. Tiffany was able to use my extensions I had and put them in in a way that did not cause damage like the previous few stylists had. I had a lot of breakage from previous installation, and she not only made me feel at ease about how much better this way was for my hair by where she was placing the rows and also gave me a lot of education on how to take care of my hair moving forward. She also color matched my hair to my extensions much better than they were and applied a shadow root so you couldn't see the difference (where you easily could before). When I came in for my second move up she asked me I liked the placement and even tweaked the placement of my rows based off of what I told her. I have NEVER had a stylist do that, I had never been offered a choice of placement. Tiffany is great to talk to, she makes me feel very comfortable in her chair and I feel like I'm catching up with a friend :) Overall, I'm so happy I found Tiffany and this salon and I will continue to come back here. I love getting my hair done here. I actually drive in from out-of-state because when you find a good place, you stick with it. After years of badly damaged hair and stylists who didn't bother to take time and understand what I wanted, I'm so blessed to find a stylist who works with me to create a vision together. The salon experience is lovely, with an assortment of snacks, beverages, and even hand massages, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Not the hectic, rushed, judgy environment of past salons where you just feel like a number they're rushing through to turn your seat and get the next person in. You can tell Sarah is truly an artist who pours her creative vision into what she does and that inspires me a lot. I follow Ardor+Grit's social media pages so I see how Sarah constantly is investing in her staff's education and training and you can tell that they have a great team environment there. I have had such good experiences with Sarah as well as two newer stylists that helped on occasion. I have fine, fragile hair so I have always been very nervous going to a new place but I was referred to her and have followed her FB page for years watching her videos showing her knowledge. Sarah made me feel confident and comfortable with the specialized services I get and I have had no complications! All of the staff are welcoming, nice to talk too and fun. The atmosphere is so comfortable and relaxed, the shampoo experience is fabulous, and being offered a Latte or water is extra nice. I highly recommend Ardor and Grit Salon. Sarah did my hair and she was amazing! She listened to my concerns about my hair and gave me some awesome ideas how to move forward from my dull hair color (my words, not hers lol) to something I would LOVE! Plus the Kevin Murphy products (which are amazing!!!) really do work! My hair feels 10x better after using these products for just over a week now! This salon is a cute up and coming place in Washington Square. I've had my hair done by Sarah, Kara, Tiffany and Abby. They all did a great job and did exactly what I wanted! They even gave me other options to achieve the look I was searching for, which I appreciated. With every color appointment you also get a hot towel and a hand massage at the shampoo bowl. With haircuts you get a head, neck, shoulder massage, and a hot towel. Everyone at the salon is very welcoming and it's a very relaxing environment to be in. I'm originally from Michigan but currently live in Texas. Whenever I go home to visit family I always stop by this salon! I wait to get my hair cut and colored how I like from this salon. I don't trust many people to do my hair how I like it. I also love that they have a rewards program! So get signed up if you have not yet!!!!
