My neighbor a block over hired these guys to trim trees blocking her view...that are in my backyard. They were to do the job on Wednesday but didn't show up until Friday - unannounced. When they were done, they just blew their debris into my planters, left my hose blocking a door, and didn't bother to clean their debris off my driveway. They also moved large boxes and trash cans away from the gate they wanted to use, into the middle my driveway, and didn't bother to move them back, making parking impossible. We were so pleased with the quality of work from Arellano's Tree Service. I was pulling out a ton of invasive echium, I mean a ton, I filled my whole driveway with it 10ft in the air solid. Jorje was great, he told me he would chip it all when he got here. He did just that and did a great job trimming our trees. I had asked him to trim a lot and a month had gone by from our quote (fire season the trimmers were booked out), he remembered everything we talked about and did a great job creating our defensible space to keep our family and house safe. Our whole street uses him. My neighbor had a giant tree taken down by them. My other neighbor has him out multiple times a year to trim a heavily wooded area backing up to our neighborhood canyon. They like him so much they stopped by to say hi to him and his crew when he was trimming our trees. I have used a few other trimmers in the area who have been great. However, when you call them a 2nd time their quotes double. Jorje is honest and consistent with his work and price. We all talk about the Carmel mark-up, whenever people come to Carmel they always mark-up the price when you compare it to your friend in Seaside or Marina. He doesn't do that. First of all, even though I'm giving 4 stars, I definitely recommend Arellano's, and for the little guy I think they're best local tree trimmers. We're not some big property owner that has a continuing need for tree trimming. We have 1 tree on our property, that's it. Honestly most of the other tree trimming companies never called us back, or called us back several day later. Arrellano's answered when we called and had someone out to do an estimate the next day. A couple days later they did the work well, and even trimmed more when I asked for more off the tree at no extra cost. I really loved working with them. Why only 4 stars? Well I asked during the estimate if they could bring by wood chips as part of the work being done? They said sure! I again asked for wood chips when the work was being done, I offered to pay for the wood chips as most of my backyard was wood chips, and needed to be re-chipped. They kept saying no problem we'll bring some for free when we're done. Well when they were done they never brought wood chips. I called twice to ask for wood chips and they said you are on the list, but I never got a call back and they never brought chips, and this was now six months ago and we never got chips. I'll still work with them in the future, and I'm still happy I did business with them, just don't expect anything beyond tree removal and trimming. read more

The thinned out and took alot of growth off our split trunk redwood which reduces the likelihood of it falling. If I could give 6 stars I would. To begin with... Dynette, office manager, is always so pleasant to talk to and she truly made me feel like an important customer. The entire staff is prompt, friendly, and efficient. The crew, including George, came earlier than expected ready to work and get the job done before their deadline. They were friendly, careful, and took time to talk to me and answer all my questions and concerns. When I say they are careful, they took every precaution to cut down four very mature trees while being mindful of the fences and the landscape. They use state of the art equipment which is important for safety, efficiency, and keeping the environment clean. They did an unbelievable job of landscape clean up too. I had been watching the winter storm clean up of several tree service companies working in Pebble Beach and Arellano's was better by far than any of the other companies. During the storms in February of this year our 50+ foot tree fell over (luckily not into our house) but onto one of our oak trees. Getting any tree service at that time was extremely difficult because everyone was dealing with downed trees. I called George, who had done some tree work at our Monterey rentals. He squeezed me in (coming out on a Sunday) and he and his crew did an incredible job! As we saw the massive truck we got this wild idea to make some trunk chairs. He even obliged us and now we have some awesome chairs in our garden area. We jokingly said "when life gives you a fallen tree, make chairs!". At that time, we discussed some of my Eucalyptus that have gotten out of control and cleaning up an old Oak Tree on my property. His professional opinion was invaluable. A few months later he came and trimmed our majestic Oak Tree into a work of art, and cut down a substantial amount off of our Eucalyptus trees.
