Arempas was a great experience for Venezuelan food. We tried their version of mozzarella sticks as an appetizer which was really good. The fried-dough wrapping around the cheese was light and crispy...and the two dipping sauces were a nice compliment - the garlic one was my preference. For the arepas, I tried 4 - peluda, asada, pulled pork, and a veggie/avocado one. All were great. Tortilla has nice level of texture and "chew." Absolutely loved the food here. Had it door dashed and the portions were large and so so warm and fresh. The salad was nice to balance out the beef empanada, arepa and the cachapa. The chimichurri sauce that came with the empanada was something special - actually spicy and I love spicy. It kept me wanting more even though I got full fast. The Cachapa was the star of the whole show. The sweet corn was soooo nice and balanced out the meat in a beautiful way. My husband and I walked here on a Friday night. There were other people, but it wasn't too busy and things moved quickly. It is a counter service, and the girl working was super nice and helpful in answering our questions. The inside is super adorable with cute decor on the walls and tables. I got a Diet Coke to drink. They have a fountain, and the brew was really good plus I love refills that I can get myself. We got the ham and cheese empanada, shredded beef empanada, and the arepa Reina pepiada. Their empanadas are actually the best I've ever had. So incredible soft and both of the fillings were great. I didn't like the arepa as much. The outside was really crunchy and I couldn't tell if it was stale or supposed to be like that. The filling on this one is chicken salad mixed with avocado. It had good flavor but was really messy. I think that someone else could really like this, but it wasn't for me. I will be back for the empanadas for sure though. They offer a bunch of gluten free options, and my friend, who recommend the place and can't have gluten, has never had an issue with it upsetting his stomach. This was my guy's and my last stop before heading to the airport and what an amazing way to end our trip! This place was delicious! All the employees were very friendly and patient while we decided what we wanted. I didn't feel rushed at all to make a decision. They were happy giving their advice on what we should order. I started with a Guava and Cheese Tequeno. I have never heard of this before, but wow! I cannot tell you the amount of times I get something guava and I can barely taste any guava. This was not the case! Even with the cheese, I could taste the guava and it did not disappoint! It was a fantastic combination of flavors with a nice, crispy shell. It was hard to pick which Arepa to get since I've never had one before, so I decided to do the combo instead! From my favorite to least favorite, I tried their Pulled Pork (juicy and packed with flavor), Reina Pepiada aka avocado chicken salad (also delicious and packed with flavor), Peluda (good, but flavor was as expected), and Catira (chicken was a bit bland for my preference). For me, the Catira was the only one that needed some hotsauce with it since it was missing that something something with it's flavor. Friday and Saturday's they are opened till 3am . The ambience is very chill, artsy, and Latin bar feel. They do have alcohol but it's mostly beer. They are always friendly and welcoming. Took a trip to Flavortown, USA after this meal. Everything here is gluten free which was great for a friend I was with who has a dietary restriction. I was able to try the Reina pepiada arepa (avocado chicken), shredded pork empanadas, and carne asada cachapa. The arepa was stuffed full of creamy chicken and the arepa was crispy. The empanadas were also perfectly fried and giant! The cachapa also had a delicious sweetness from the corn which paired so well with all the cheese and meat. The order counter is in the middle of the dining space which made queuing up not very easy. I felt like our service was fine but was a bit lacking in friendliness. The building itself was darling, I liked the hand written menu on the walls and their Christmas decor. Our food didn't take very long, we ordered a Carne Asada Arempa and Pabellon Arempa. We liked the flavors, but they did forget to bring our sauces so the hot sauce on the table was helpful. Stopped in here for lunch during a weekday! I actually didn't know it was featured in triple DDD until walking up, which made me even more excited to eat here! My coworker and I ordered several items to share. I forget all what we ordered since he ordered in Spanish, but everything was delicious and hit the spot right down to my passion fruit drink! The cashier and server were both very friendly during our visit. There's not very much indoor seating, so if you come during a huge lunch or dinner rush you might have to get your order to go. It was 50/50 during my visit of customers eating in or ordering for takeout. Parking on the street around the restaurant is pretty limited, but there's a pay by the hour parking lot right across the street that had ample parking when we arrived. So first time here. Mixed experience as far as service. Ordered a Peluda and the Carne Asada and drinks. For $3.50 you'd think you'd get more than and 8 oz cup then insult to injury NO ICE. (Not to mention this place has Pepsi products not Coke - should cost a star right there). Anyway, looking past the beverage situation, this place is pretty decent. Food is good. Carne Asada has tons of yummy meat! The peluda also has lots of meat and different flavors that were yummy. It wasn't busy which is concerning because this location has had several failures. I hope they can make it. They do have those annoying napkin dispensers with napkins that don't pop up. Has anyone else tried and tried to get a napkin to no avail where you just end up ripping the thing open? This type of dispenser is designed for connected napkins that pull the next napkin up - but these are fold flat napkins that don't feed through the slot so everyone digs down in the thin slot with their greasy paws to no avail. Wrong place to save a buck in my opinion. It's the little things in life. End of napkin rant! All in all I loved this place despite the drink and napkin situation. read more

Got the shredded chicken which was flavorful and the potato and cheese. Both were delicious and crispy on the outside. The potato one reminded me of when you get a potato croquette and the outside layer is crispy with a soft pillowy inside. This is the first time I've had the cachapa which is like this corn pancake and it has a thick layer of cheese inside, topped with a crema of some sort, cotina cheese and corn.
