I'm so disappointed. Signed up for kids night out and was surprised to see a much older child swinging my child around in an open area when I arrived. This was in line of sight of staff who did nothing to stop this. Older kid took off to play. I find out later he was doing this all night to my child and it apparently started because he had punched ANOTHER child. Staff said nothing to me about the incident that occurred in front of all of us. Door was wide open, anyone could have walked in. Typically things involving kids are more secure. Ratio seemed acceptable, there were like 3 or 4 when we arrived and 2 when we picked up and there were less than 10 kids. You would think they could handle it or help redirect the aggression - especially between bigger and littler kids. I'm disgusted because the coaches are pretty great for soccer so we trusted Arena Sports. I would NEVER recommend this to any parent. We contacted Arena but have heard nothing...which honestly I kind of expected. read more

We had a great inflatable zone birthday for our 7-year-old at Arena Sports SODO. Thes Staff was super friendly and helpful! Parents can hang out / watch the kids then go to the party room when ready. Afterwards the indoor field was empty, so all the kids went and kicked the ball around. We had a blast. read more

I would like to start by saying London the manager at Magnuson is amazing! She was calm, kind and professional. I would have originally said you couldn't pay me to go back to arena sports but she was so wonderful I would... just not SODO location. To give some background, our family friends are visiting from out of state and we have been talking about going to the bouncy houses for a few days. Sunday morning I called the phone number associated with sodo location to confirm that they had bouncy houses (because we are only familiar with the Magnuson location). They confirmed that they did but they were closed from 2 to 2:30. We (5 kids under six) arrived at 1:30 and tried to bounce. My husband originally went in with our 3 year old and was told that there was a birthday party and we couldn't bounce. I then called the number back while I was parking and said I was just talking to you earlier today and was told that we could come to do the bounce houses, but my husband just arrived and was told that there was a birthday party and we can't actually bounce. The person I talked to went to double check and confirmed that yes there was a birthday party and it was probably because more people arrived and they were at capacity but they would make sure that we could go at 2:30. For the next hour, we had five children in a parking lot, waiting with the promise of going to bounce. I will let you imagine how fun that was :) When we went in at 2:30 to buy tickets to bounce we were told we couldn't because it was reserved for a birthday. I explained the situation and they were very dismissive and told us our children could not bounce. I completely understand that things happen, there is poor communication etc however they took ZERO accountability and we're not apologetic. I even mentioned how I was upset that there was not accountability and guess what... again zero accountability. I reiterated that as a customer I felt like I had done everything correctly, I called multiple times to confirm that our children would be able to come and bounce. I did not show up randomly an expect to get in. I called (the number attached to the location) and was reassured MULTIPLE times we could come. The 'manager' at SODO who I spoke with refused to give me his name (again zero accountability) and was less the helpful or professional. Again, completely understand that things happen but when very young children are involved I expect businesses to take more accountability and have better communication. Our three year old was on the ground crying unable to understand why he couldn't bounce saying "they promised we could". Lastly, I want to reiterate that London is amazing, everyone I spoke to at Magnuson (even when I was frustrated) was professional and kind and I have absolutely NOTHING nice to say about SODO. read more

It's smaller than its Magnuson Park counterpart, it only has one field and smaller practice area in the back. Limited seating, there's a couple of tables near the front and some bleachers next to the field. Limited parking as well, but that probably depends on the times of your games. Great place to play indoor soccer- it's turf, so dress your feet accordingly. And don't forget to grab a brew after your game, stay hydrated! read more

Oh man.. I really miss playing Indoor this winter. For the last 4 years, I've played with the same indoor team. This year, the company sponsoring the team had to cut funds from somewhere and guess what got chopped? Yep, the extracurricular. I've played several games in this facility over the years. There's a couple of things I really like about it. The shorter fields, the decent refs, and the location. It's closer to home for me than the other field and that was always nice when we had a late LATE game (sometimes starting at 10:50pm). While Arena Sports on Marginal is pretty beat up itself, I still appreciate the old crappy loungey couches with the big old tv, the thug music past 9pm, and the warm and always helpful staff that loves shootin' the sh*t with you. This place doesn't have these things... but it's still a sports facility. And it's important that we have these in the city. I do like that they host volleyball games and have batting cages here. Definitely a solid 3. read more

Rumors have it they'll install better turf and get some freak'n heat for the fans, crosses fingers. Now that they have agreed to a long term lease. Starch-boy, our 13yo son, and some of his soccer teammates play in-door soccer, aka Futsal, at this location. While it isn't as nice as their Redmond location, I give them props for doing the soccer community a great service, for getting the Futsal movement going in the Seattle area. I'll bump them up stars once they get some upgrades done to this place. 5 stars for running this program, but -2 stars for the facility needing some repairs/upgrades, and that brillo-pad turf is killer. Two fields and leagues for both adults and kids. A volleyball program is available as well. read more

Yeah for indoor soccer! Yeah for the SODO location being so close to downtown! Good friendly referees, and music make indoor soccer just a little more fun than it already is. Watch out though. If you play in the late games, you'll be too pumped to sleep for hours. read more

Now that we've been frequenting this place for a year, I have to update my review. My (now) 5 year old has come for a couple of 1/2 day camps (end of summer, school holidays, winter break), we had his 5th bday party here & sometimes we just drop in on the weekend for the inflatables. The place is large & generally quite clean. Unfortunately the fact that the average age of the employee is probably 21 affects the organization & my feeling of confidence...it seems the more we have gone there in the past year, the less organized it has become. I feel as though the young people working here aren't very helpful (though they are great with the kids). In particular, our birthday party experience was less than desireable. I guess for nearly $300 we spent, I was expecting a bit less of a crowd & a little more attention to detail. I doubt we would do a party here again, unless we could actually get field time. It wasn't worth it to have to share the inflatables with several other parties/public & wait for our party room (more than 1/2 hour past our scheduled time). Everything is great when you can register on-line, but when you arrive for check-in or check-out, things seem pretty hectic & the communication skills of the employees leave something to be desired. Ultimately we (or guests) find the way, kiddo has a good time & all is well. read more

Arena Sports is awesome - playing indoor soccer here is a blast! Right now I'm on my second consecutive session and it's a lot of fun. It's a great way to have a good time and get in shape all in one action-packed 50 minute game. There's plenty of parking at this location, which is great. You can park in any spot after 5pm, which is pretty much any spot you can find. The field itself is great and I far prefer it over the hangars at the Magnuson location (they get SO cold in the winter!). There's some bleachers that spectators can sit on as well as some couches. You can always catch some sort of sporting event on the TVs (last night it was Mariners) and they serve beer too! There's only a couple of small downsides - the first is that even though I'm signed up at the SODO location, there's always a couple games each session that are at Magnuson. It's not a huge inconvenience, but it's definitely a lot further out of my way to get there. The second downside is the price. The price per quarterly session per person is definitely fair, but it's a huge chunk of change once you add the Arena Sports membership onto it - and you must have a membership to play. If I remember correctly, it's around $50 bucks annually. Added to the session fees, that can be a lot of money. I definitely recommend playing some soccer here though - it rocks! read more

This is just for the bouce houses - they can be way too crowded and with bigger kids, the little ones simply get run over. The staff really is friendly, but doesn't know how to handle this so as a parent you can't just sit back unless you want to see your little one just get run over. Sure they sell beer and that is cool, but a little structure to the bouce houses when crowded could go a long way. read more

Tim, the manager, does a great job with this place. I always see people cleaning, the refs are usually pretty fair, and the counter people are always nice and helpful (unless you ask them to fill up your bottle - DO NOT ASK THEM TO FILL UP YOUR WATERBOTTLE!). One of the things I love the most about this place (besides the clean bathrooms - nice work, AS!) is Tim's accessibility. Whenever we have a problem on the pitch, you can go to him and explain what happened and he actually cares! He will watch the team in question, or explain why a call was made the way it was, and he is also very responsive over e-mail. In fact, because of Tim I feel so safe and comfortable playing here, that I have almost completely quit playing outdoors (almost). I like how big it is, that there is plenty of parking, and the heaters in the winter are nice. It gets a little warm in the summer, but they prop the doors and try to keep it as cool as they can. I don't have kids, but I know some Lil' Kickers that love coming here (and they siblings that like the blow up bouncy houses). I am really impressed with this place. Nice work! read more

The new location is great! Nice new turf fields and easier on the feet and knees, and the game is slower so better for playing a passing game. I play in the over-30 women's D league and it's lots of fun and everyone is a good sport. Referees are good and keep the play non-physical (it's D league!). Also fun to watch the different games while there---like watch people who actually play, unlike myself. My kids also play indoor there, and for that I'd give 3 stars. The reason it that they don't always have enough teams to field a good league at your kids age and skill level, so don't expect like-versus-like competition. My kids still like it, but Arena Sports doesn't have enough teams to make A, B, and C leagues so if you are a C-level youth team....well. I wish they would institute handicaps by allowing the bottom teams in the standings to add a player from the start. The top teams (btw, my son's team is A-level and my daughter's is C-level) really pound the bottom teams and it overly discourages the bottom teams. read more

Do not take your child to play in the inflatable zone if you are only bringing one child. My mom brought my son for the first time and he is three years old. When she paid, no one told her he had to stay in a designated area. Being three, he saw ALL of the other children there in the class so of course he romped right on over. The teacher or whoever was leading didn't say anything for ten minutes. He even set up cones for him to kick and told him how good he kicked. Ten minutes go by and then they tell my son he can't play with them. This is unacceptable to me, why did they not go to the adult and say something? I understand it costs money to attend the classes but you don't tell the child that. Who knows what he is thinking when he's excluded from playing with the other kids and doesn't understand why he is the only one left out. Needless to say, we will not be returning. Good luck to others bring their kid here to play on a cold day. read more

My daughter has been going to the Lil Kickers here at Arena Sports now for a year. I didn't know what it was like before, but I have heard from locals that the place has been greatly improved and renovated from what it used to be before. We really enjoy coming here for her soccer. We often get snacks from the snack station and also spend time in the bouncy house play area after soccer. In the bouncy house area, it can get crowded and a little hairy at times during peak hours but just keep a watchful eye on your kiddo and you'll be fine. Different age groups mix it up, but there is a bouncy area that is specifically for 3 years and under. The rest of the facility is nice. There is a very nice gym and workout area, although I can't speak to it since I'm not a member. I can imagine it must feel like being in a fishbowl at times if you go to the classes. read more

I booked my son's birthday party a month ago and called today to follow up. They had no record of my reservation and made me feel like I had made the mistake or had mixed something up. The event coordinator called me back and told me it was impossible to book the party I had booked. Unfortunately she couldn't explain why all of my information was in her computer with my son's birthday information, name for his birthday Jersey, and age. The only thing she offered was to re-book it and she would make sure to email all of the employees about how to book parties. I'm very disappointed and will have to send out new invites and change our food order. read more

Indoor Beach Volleyball!!! Winter shouldn't have to stop you from enjoying the sand and having fun! They have games seven days a week and are open to the public for drop-ins and league plays as well. Sometimes it gets too cold, that's they only thing they need to work on but everything else is great. read more

Tried out Arena Sports Lil' Kickers program today for our 3 year old twins and they haven't stopped talking about it since class wrapped. The staff was professional and extremely lenient of one of my 3 year olds who was having a hard time getting adjusted. They were courteous and encouraging. I am so happy we found this program! We've tried to have our girls play indoor soccer here for several years now. It's always been a bad experience. In short, the refereeing can be terrible and lopsided depending on the favored teams. They have house rules that are never shared. And the refs inspire little confidence. Especially, the Mamul and some of the refs that look a bit hung over. These are guys who couldn't get real referring jobs or play soccer. We've management to be lacking and professionalism and there is a high turn over rate. Of course, it's a huge building and looks great, however, I'd avoid it for any real soccer consideration. Most of the teams that get involved seriously probably aren't that good. read more

This place is the best. I used to play back in my glory days and now it is awesome taking my son to lil kickers. Was able to start him out at roughly 2 years of age. I'll credit a lot of his life and sports skills to the program. It was a bit expensive for what it was at that age but at the same time it's hard to price tag socializing, learning to listen to somebody other than parents, and a little classic exercise. read more

Had my son's 8th birthday party here as he wanted a soccer party. We wanted field time so we had to be a bit flexible in our dates to get that which was fine. As I drove up there was someone (the coach and party dude) waiting for me with a cart with our name on it. I parked and he wheeled it over and help load my stuff on it (cake, ice cream, party favors, etc..). We followed him inside and into our party room waiting for us. He unloaded the stuff and when kids came he showed them where the presents went. Once all arrived he split them up into two teams and took them out to the indoor turf fields for a full field scrimmage. The kids loved that and got a good workout. They scrimmage for about 50 minutes. Then the coach gathered them all up and back into the party room and started passing out the pizza and pouring drinks. We had decent enough time in the room for pizza and cake and opening presents. After it was over the coach party dude cleaned up and loaded up my stuff and the presents back on the cart and wheeled them out to my car for me. Also the birthday kid gets an Arena sport jersey with his age as his number on the back. Well played Arena Sports! read more

I've been playing with Arena Sports at their Magnuson and SODO locations since 2012, and still greatly enjoy bringing my Co-ed team back every season. Team dues are a bit high, but they have a great staff who strive to make your experience enjoyable and as safe as can be. The Facility: There is a HUGE improvement from Arena's old facility! The space is an old airplane hanger that has been fully renovated to include 3 turf fields, a kids bouncy room (if only I was a kid again!), valley ball courts, and the Magnuson Athletic Club. The place is kept pretty clean with the exception of some popcorn kernels every once in a while. Bathrooms are clean a well stocked. There is plenty of parking once you find the facility. Finding the facility can be difficult at first so make sure you follow their directional signs. The Staff: Always cordial, friendly, and upbeat! The manager is on his game! He makes his presence known by stopping by the tables and greeting people while he cleans away empty popcorn bowls and beer pitchers. The staff has been the same with a few new faces every once in a while and overall a good helpful team. The People: I do not play but my boyfriend does so I am giving you a review solely on the people and players I have encountered or witnessed. There is a tons of families which means alot of kids. This doesn't usually bother me but when they are kicking balls every which direction and running around and screaming I feel like I am in a daycare facility instead of enjoying my brew and the match in front of me. I can live with it though. Now every sports facility will attract some douches; thankfully they are few and far in between here. Now on to the players.....like I said before I am not a player so this is coming from a spectator. The players overall seem pretty cool, however there are the few that talk a little too much shit and play a little too dirty but that is expected. The refs are not always my favorite. Sometimes there are BS calls, and sometimes there are no calls when there should be. Overall decent. Food & Drink: I have not tried there food as I am usually there on a late Friday night when the kitchen is closed. Their free popcorn is served with a small cup of Tapatio which is pretty damn good. There is a slurpee type machine and a coffee/cocoa machine as well. They have a decent beer selection. Beers are around $2.50 to $3.75 for each keg sized cup and around $10.00 for a pitcher. Cheap I know! Why do you think I go to my boyfriends games every Friday??!! The have beers by the bottle and on tap. Taps are usually Budlight, Shock Top, Modelo, and sometimes a random IPA. Only 2 major Con's..... 1. A $3.00 spectator fee is charged on Friday night. Upside is you a get a ticket for a soda and popcorn. It's a con for me cause I go for the beer. 2. Old hanger equals no insulation and it is sometimes bone chilling cold in the winter unless you are sitting under the heaters. Overall Arena Sports is a good time and a even better time if your team wins! read more

Played drop-in soccer here for the first time last night. Here is what I learned: 1. The people who play drop in soccer are, for the most part, really good. 2. I am not really good. Or in shape. But they humored me anyway. 3. You can sign up online 48 hours in advance by clicking "register" on the Arena Sports website. It's $10 for drop-in. 4. You drive to the facility by going through the Magnuson Park entrance, not the NOAA entrance, which Google Maps told me to do and got me stuck at a dead end. 5. They'll give you a penny, so you don't need to worry about wearing the color of your team. 6. Bring lots of water. 7. There's turf, and a lot of the players have special turf shoes, but I just wore sneakers and was fine. 8. Shin guards are encouraged but not required for drop-in. 9. There are refs. It's real official-like. 10. There are bouncy houses and gym equipment (for members, I think) and they serve beer! 11. The Friday night drop-in games start at 7:45, not 8:30 as the website says. 12. Everyone is lumped together at one level, not divided into A, B, and C, as the website says. I had a great time but as someone who hadn't played in 6 years (and even then wasn't very good), I was shamefully out of my league! Still, my teammates were very supportive, so I had a fun time anyway! read more

I've just had the most baffling time trying to register my kid for their Lil Kickers classes over the phone -- the staff first said they needed to call me back, then never called. I tried again today - it took forever and was really cumbersome. the person on the phone seemed to have no knowledge of the program, and the information they asked for didn't seem relevant. Many friends have recommended this program so I hope the classes will be better than this first impression. read more

Totally awesome 10-year-old laser tag birthday party! Wanted to have a great birthday party for our oldest who was turning 10. Had seen Arena Sports' birthday packages described on the web at http://www.arenasports.net/index and was leaning towards a flag football + capture the flag setup. Jon Mears, the party coordinator and "coach" asked us if we were interested in laser tag. What 10 year old boy isn't?? So we were priviledged to have the first laser tag party at Arena Sports at Magnusson and was it ever a blast!!! Arena Sports worked with an outside company who came in and set up inflatable obstacles and home bases on one of the indoor soccer fields. Fourteen boys played various games of laser tag for an hour and had the best time ever. Never seen so many sweaty, smiling faces. They talked about the details for days after the party.... Highly recommend Arena Sports for birthday parties. The staff is excellent, great with kids and aim to please. Ask for laser tag if your young ones are old enough to enjoy. read more

My son is in the Lil Kickers program here and loves it. I appreciate the cleanliness of the sitting and bathroom areas. They have a nice little snack/drink booth too and sell coffee, beer, chips, soda, slushies, you name it. It's a terrific place for your whole family to be active play soccer. Parking is nice, easy and free too! Though we usually always go early Saturday and Sunday mornings, not sure if it's busier during the evening activities. read more

This is only for Lil Kickers, the soccer classes. We've been going for three years, and have had a great experience. Most instructors are really, really good w/ kids. Structured activities, lots of running. Been perfect for my preschooler. Gorgeous Field Turf makes for soft landings when they crash and fall down. We also do the Bouncy Houses afterwards in the winter, which are six bucks if your kid plays soccer there. read more

The new venue looks really good but wasn't quite finished yet when we were there. The new fields felt good and it had a much better surface than the old venue. Since we were there during their test week, they didn't have their cafe and everythhing quite set up so it felt a bit cold and empty. I'm sure when it's full of people and all the things are running it'll be much better. read more

We've taken our son here for their Lil' Kickers soccer program. It's well organized and everyone is warm and friendly. Unfortunately, my son doesn't seem to be into sports much (the apple doesn't fall far...) but if he were, we'd take him back. Anyhow, the schedule is pretty flexible and you can probably find something that works for you. The kids seems engaged, the instructors are attentive, the staff is warm and they even have some bouncy castles in back. No complaints. read more
