My friends and I had a great time at this market. It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be, but they had some great food options and little shops. They also had a variety of performers throughout the night. We got food at DaNang and it was amazing. I highly recommend the grilled squid ($10) and their pork and chicken kabobs ($4). The squid especially was incredible and the serving was huge. There are also plenty of outdoor places to sit!

This was a fun event. Summer in Chicago is amazing, I really like Argyle, especially since I relocated from Hawaii last spring. I'm always finding stuff in Argyle that I miss having regularly accessible. It's great to be able to go to event and see all the local business restaurants to artists and makers. Throw in some live music and a great time. Have tasty apps, always finding new spots down the road and I'm slowly just checking out places. Great way to introduce you to all the neighborhood has to offer.

The Argyle Night Market is really very neat, and I enjoyed taking in the music while enjoying the culinary offerings. This is a stellar no-cost way to spend a Thursday night.

So glad I found this on its last night! I just went to Asia this summer and have been missing the night markets there. The Argyle Night Market isn't huge, but it was enough to give me a small taste of what I've been missing. They close off a small portion of the street (one block) and the restaurants there set up small shops/tents and sell their food. Everything was super cheap and we got a nice meal from it. Live music, lots of people, yummy food and a sense of community. Loved it! I hope they can expand in the future and make it bigger!

Not the extensive and brimming with food stalls Asian night markets that I'm used to. The food options are pretty slim; you're limited to some meat kabobs and fried offerings. They nowhere near represent the array of Vietnamese food you can find in Argyle. The music is nice, although the night market should take place at a later time; 5-9pm is still an early time slot to be considered a night market. I wouldn't come during repeated weeks, but maybe once a year to see if any of the stalls are updated.

Nice, smaller street festival that has a plethora of small businesses and dance performances. Really fun time!

Mainly food stalls and only one block long, but the music and ambience are nice and the food is solid & reasonably priced. Not too crowded.

This is located just south of the Jewel-Osco in Andersonville, between Clark and Ashland on Catalpa. When I wandered around they had a variety of vendors. There were a few with prepared food, and I think at least one you could buy food for cooking later. There was a candle vendor, and obviously several vendors selling vegetables. I did finally sign up with the composting company that I had been considering. I didn't know anyone using it, as I'd liked to have used a referral code to give someone credit for the referral, but I am glad they were here for me to finish my registration. I'm hoping that as we get deeper into the season, there will be more to choose from. But the ramps I picked up were really good, and I'd be in heaven if I could find some strawberries at the market if I visit in early June.

Sure, there is one vendor selling eggs and meat, and another vendor selling fruits and veggies, but its just one for each. This market excels in other categories. There was a good variety overall. There were salsas, dips, sweet teas, pet products, honey, nuts, and several kinds of baked goods. Many also sold hot food to be eaten then and there. Kudos to the organizers for putting a couple high tables so eating and walking wasn't an absolute requirement. A fantastic number of vendors were also giving away samples so you could try before you buy. Even though this is more or less standard practice, if I'm given free stuff, in any amount, all I can say is thank you. All this is good and fine - why four stars? Well, I can understand MSUFCU (a bank) having a table as a sponsor. However, Nothing Bundt Cakes, despite their merits, being a business with ~800 nationwide locations damaged the hyper-local vibe. In addition to being [mostly] super local, all the vendors were incredibly kind and friendly - especially the man running YallaTizers! Final verdict: While the selection may not fill your fridge with everything you need for the week, there are plenty of items which can help augment your regular shopping trip, and some that are just for fun! Would return?: Yes! To see the wonderful, friendly faces, if nothing else. Would recommend?: Yes, as long as you're aware the market may not be *quite* as local as you expect.

A few of the vendors that I have visited were Edge of Sweatness (local bake shop) ; Eternal Harmony; Edgewater Candles, and Empanadas Argentinas, which has a variety of empanadas, and they are reasonably priced. The event itself is Saturday's; rain or shine; June - October, and located in the Broadway Armory Parking lot; not too far from CTA Thorndale, and not too crowded of an event. As for commuting, i recommended catching the train, but if you wish to drive there is neighborhood parking; as well as a slim selection of metered street parking.
