The orchard grows a ton of different apple varieties so there's good picking during the full apple season. We got to choose between Zestar and Jerseymac apples during our visit. I'm a big fan of crisp and tart so the Zestars fit the bill. Peach picking was a bit of the same only fewer varieties. Raspberry picking was a fun new experience. You're essentially hunting and the fruit that is ready to be picked will slide off their cone-like cores. Since it was early in the season most of the berries were small or immature and there were a ton of bees buzzing around. I mean a ton where you'd go to pick and they would be buzzing around your hand. Don't worry though! The bees are friendly and indifferent to your picking the fruit. Just be gentle. Pro tip: come on a day where there's a breeze. We went on a still day in August and it was hot! 90 minutes in the sun and we were feeling pretty crunchy.

We had a nice little conversation about growing basil while they were pricing tubs of corn chowder. Dennis asked if we liked corn chowder and we said yes, so he told us he was giving us a tub of his to try cause it will be the best we ever had! While it wasn't the best I've ever had, it was pretty damn near close! The corn was great, the tomatoes were great, the squash was great! The pick your own blueberries were delightful! Upon arriving, we saw all the beautiful Christmas trees for sale and were immediately greeted by a very nice young man who asked if we'd ever been there. He welcomed us to check out the store and that there was complimentary mulled cider, apples, and fresh-popped popcorn and coffee, and a whole sitting area to enjoy it in. We purchased their own Cryovacced beef and sausage, some fresh veggies, homemade baked goods, and some cider. The staff was AMAZINGLY friendly! As we were leaving, my children saw some very small broken Christmas tree twigs in the parking lot and wanted to take them home for the ride so they could smell the pine. Another young man called over to me and said he had a better piece for them than what we found on the ground and he gave them a large branch! It just made their day! Then, my daughter saw the horses and he invited us to go and look at them. It was such a gorgeous setting and we really enjoyed everything we purchased. The sausage is out of this world!!! I'd drive 5 hours just to purchase it again!

Plenty of fresh produce and the woman working told me there would be plenty more come the warm weather (it was only 20 degrees outside the day I visited). Meats looked good and I bought some fresh cold milk in a glass quart bottle with a few avocados on my way out the door. I look forward to visiting here regularly from now on. When I spoke to the owner, he stated that he sells 2000 Ruben's a year a year and there's no way for him to make themany different. We order grilled Rubins from all over the state. Everyone else is able to accommodate having them a little bit crispy. It's not rocket science you simply put a press on it and leave it on for a little bit longer. Obviously they are not able to accommodate this and will not be returning to the store because I don't feel the owner and the staff are accommodating. And the prices are exception high.

What an absolutely delightful place!…read more Ambiance: Adorable. Farm store is well-stocked with fresh veggies and tons of tasty treats and tchotchkes. The outdoor areas have some seating right against the store and tons more in the beer garden area. Greenhouses. A whole kid play area with toys, sandboxes, swings. And live farm animals to visit and observe (cow, goats, geese, etc.) Super cute, lots to see, and fabulous for families. Service: Friendly and warm. Pretty sure it was the owner who took our orders in the cafe window. He was so sweet and struck up a conversation with us about whether we were visiting, local, etc. He noticed our baby and told us about their family nights with campfires and live music and kid games. The woman at checkout was also super nice when I bought a few store items. Food: GUYS. Simple but sooooo fresh and wonderful. We all loved it, even my picky MIL. We got coffee and breakfast sandwiches / wraps. It was a bit of a wait but we were happy to sit outside and chat and even happier when the food turned out to be so yummy. The bagels were soft inside but crispy outside (they grill them, not just toast. But not greasy!!) Eggs are local. Veggies are fresh. All made with care.
