My father arrived at Aria Memory Care in April 2015. He has been struggling with Parkinson's and was in the beginning stages of Alzheimer and Dementia. He was also recovering from a broken hip and was using a walker. Aria had the safest facilities for my father to move around. The common areas have wood floors and less clutter than other communities. I felt my father was safe. My father enjoyed being able to enjoy the out side on his own with access to their courtyard. Not all communities are set up where your loved ones can enjoy outdoors when they want to. The Facility Manager was very helpful in helping set up my fathers room as well as hanging pictures. Since my father was an engineer, the Facilities Manager took the time to have many great conversations with my father. It is great that Aria is dedicated to Memory Care. They know how to take care of all levels. The separation of cognitive and non cognitive guests is priceless. My father was able to have conversations with other guests with similar challenges. Having a loved one in a home is all ways difficult but when you arrive at Aria you really do not feel you are in a nursing home. It helped me when I was visiting my father. Last but not least the Executive Director Ceri Mackenzie is there for you and your loved ones 24 hours. I have seen this first hand. She was there for helping me manage my fathers needs. Her experience and knowledge comes in handy as anything can happen any time when you are taking care of our elders. The team reacts positively to Ceri's experience and enthusiasm. To sum it up, Aria is a gem in senior community. It offers clean, safe, easy to navigate common area floor plan, spacious individual units and a lovely courtyard to enhance for my father's daily experience. Mostly importantly, the team members are friendly, caring and do not hesitate to come to aide whenever the unexpected need rises. My father actually thrived and showed improvement in matter of weeks under their care. . I have had other family members in Brookdale, Sunrise and, and Emeritus. Aria Memory Care is superior above all other communities. I would recommend Aria to any of my close friends and family. read more

We moved our father into Aria in July after touring many different facilities in North Austin and Cedar Park. Our Mom was my Dad's primary caregiver prior to her unexpected death so this transition has been very difficult. I chose Aria because the staff were all very caring friendly, the facility is very clean and modern, and the apartment/room was a nice size and well laid out to match, as closely as possible, my Dad's bedroom at home. My Dad has only been there 2 months but I still feel very confident I have made the right decision with Aria. Ceri Mackenzie is the medical director and she is very patient with the family and also with our Dad. She is knowledgeable and shares that knowledge to make us more comfortable with the transition. The nursing staff and aides have all been very friendly to Dad - especially Kristin, Melissa, Brandon and Jeannette - but they have all been wonderful. read more

One star is for the current management. My mom was stayed there for six months. It was a wonderful place until the new management took over. Food is horrible. Huge staff turn over. No more music therapy. Huge Emphasis on drugging patients to keep them quiet. New staff are incompetent. No Alzheimer training for staff as it was promised. This Place is all about money. First and foremost, I want to let those of you dealing with a loved one with dementia that you are not alone. I can tell you that my father currently resides at Aria and they are taking care of him. The family is comfortable with the way he's being treated and the staff there knows how to handle dementia patients. Ceri and Rachel communicated with our family and effectively handled the situation. They know what they are doing and it shows. Top shelf. Aria is a nice facility located in Cedar Park just outside of Austin. It is new and nice. The building has high ceilings and lots of light and the staff does interact with the patients. I feel welcome when I go there and I can visit with my Dad outside in the courtyard where he feels comfortable. My family and I are happy that we made the decision to place him at Aria. read more

So where do I begin . . . . I will first start of with saying that the ORIGINAL facility management that was running the facility was top notch. When I say this, this speaks for the facility managers, the cook, the care givers, the activity director, the custodial crew, nursing staff . . . . Literally everyone there. Having seen my loved ones go through 2 other facilities and finally finding this one on our third try, we as an entire family, felt like we had hit the lottery. It was so good I'm almost lost for words, if that means anything. The food was amazing, the attention and care given to the residents was at a level that superseded anywhere else. There was genuine people running and caring for the loved ones living here. The places prior to us moving to the Aria, employees were stealing, food was horrible, med stations giving residents the wrong medications, employees had no passion for their jobs so we as a family had to start providing care out of our own time to make sure our loved ones were properly given the care that we were paying for. When we moved to the Aria all those worries were washed away with the ORIGINAL facility management / staff even though we continued to provide that care out of our own personal time. I was seeing so much progress in my loved one that I hadn't seen in YEARS that I was floored. All the credit given to COMPETENT personnel hired GENUINELY and PASSINAOTELY wanting to provide and care to make the residents life's the best possible. THEN, unfortunately GREED FOR MONEY gets the best of some certain individuals higher up and what once was the facility you'd always hoped and prayed for for your loved ones, VANISHES before your eyes. The managers were first to go and then certain personnel started dropping like flies. It was so obvious in what the NEW STAFF'S vision and game plan was when they called a meeting with all the residents families that you knew it was just a matter of time. They explained what was taking place and afterwards as a "Community of Residents Families", opinions were expressed to the individuals that held what I call the "Trump Card" and they were looking at you as you looked in their eyes as though they were dazed or looking right through you, also known as "putting on a front" or better yet an "I don't really care what you have to say", attitude to put it nicely. Wither it was their non verbal communications, which speaks VOLUMES, or some of their specific replies back to the families, you could tell that the residents mattered nothing to them and it was about the MONEY. The old saying "Crap rolls down hill", well, it was just a matter of time before it showed and it did. The new management over the entire facility started getting rid of personnel and hiring incompetent individuals that had no experience in caring for the residents. As one review I read referencing this facility stated, they were drugging individuals to subdue them because they didn't properly know how to handle them due to lack of training, no experience and very little to no passion to want to be there, also known as the "Easy way out". When the residents reach a certain point with their conditions and this facility decides they can't care for you anymore because they don't want to be "put out" or "the patient is too much to handle", they will inform you that you have to move out because they can't provide the care that you hired them to do. We have experienced it ourselves and seen it done to several other residents. So a question that I would ask myself reading this and considering memory care facilities for my loved one, ESPECIALLY the ARIA which I DO NOT recommend, is "At what level are you going to ask us to move?" because Every Alzheimer' or Dementia patient will get to a level that they might get very defiant or require more assistance than when they first came in. It is inevitable. Since the new staff has come in they have cleaned house of the original passionate personnel. So beware if you haven't visited the facility yet or even if you already have. Don't become a victim of the "hook line and sinker" or "front" of the personnel you will be dealing with here when making your life changing decision and don't be fooled by the nice facility. It has a ton of potential if ran by the right people, not your typical money hungry "Corporate America". My family spent a while visiting nursing facilities in the North Austin area. They wanted to find a place that would make Dad feel at home. They went to four facilities before Aria. I recall my sister stating that every facility was full of people crying, moaning, screaming and drooling. These weren't places for Dad. When they went to Aria, they met all the staff, took the tour, and decided that a place with music therapy was the best place, especially since Dad loves music. Aria would receive 5 stars from me had I done this on yelp in Jan of 2014. I'm glad I waited. The staff back then was amazing, from the director to the nurses to cleaning staff. Then Aria made a grievous error, the sycophants above the director decided to fire half the staff. Every time I called to check on my father, I had new staff members answering my questions. New people with terrible bed side manners. One day I called to ensure a check made it there. While on the phone, I asked about Dad. Aria's response was, "Who?". I was mad. If we are spending 5 grand a month, you damn well better know your patients. Finally, in December of 2014, I was able to make it to Texas to visit the facility myself. I was distraught to find that they no longer use music therapy, something Aria prided itself on earlier. My father was sitting there at the table eating large chunks of chicken with a spoon. Aria didn't take the time to cut it for him. He also kept dropping food because of his shaking. I was told that he most times does not eat everything because of that: The staff does not help him eat. There was a lady at his table who kept yelling and screaming. Aria assured my family before that this woman would not be put at the same table as my father because she upsets him. Yet, there she is, sitting across the table. I watched as the orderlies made their way around, talking to each other, not paying attention to the patients in the dining room. I overheard two of them talking nasty about one of the patients; I made sure they knew I heard them. Only then did one come over to check on my father. I was not impressed with my visit to Aria. This was not the Aria my mother and sister described to me when they entered my father into the facility. This is now just like any other nursing home, filled with yelling and crying, mediocre standards, less than qualified staff, and a director obsequious only to the boss. Devotion to servitude is lost at Aria of Cedar Park. read more

The staff is amazing. I see how involved they are with not only the residents but also the resident's family members. The executive director is so caring and genuinely loves and is invested in the residents here and the staff that she hires. Even the kitchen and front office staff knows every resident by name and has a caring heart. All in all it is a wonderful place that is family owned which instills family values. It is very apparent that they all work as a team and care for one another. read more

I am so happy to recommend Aria Memory Care and every one of the team members that I have met! I had to move my Dad to Aria late last year after feeling that his health and safety were not being adequately cared for at another facility. From the very first visit I knew that Aria was the right home for my Dad. Rachel was so kind and you can see how she loves the residents. The facility itself is so much like a home and there is no feeling of "being locked up" or being in an institution like so many other places. Everything is clean...always. The staff are very kind and helpful. Courtney at the front desk is one of the sweetest and most kind people ever. You know that your loved one is in great hands with Melissa helping to care for them. There are so many other great staff there, and I am sorry that I can't recall names. I do not have one negative thing to say about Aria Memory Care! Unfortunately, my Dad passed away recently, but I am glad he was in such a lovely home environment with people who cared about him and took good care of him! read more

There has been a new management company take over and that is always challenging. We went through this with my dad's last community and it was terrible. I do have to say that we are more than pleased with the new management company. They have been very hands on and provided me and my husband with their personal cell phone which to me says a lot. There is an excellent Executive Director named Beth there that runs the building and she has helped us with anything that we have come to her for. The place is very nice and clean. Before we moved dad in we toured about 7 communities and we felt Aria had what we were looking for. It is a smaller family like community with around 30 apartments, so your loved one will not be one of a hundred in the building which my husband thought was very important. The food is good,(I have eaten there on multiple occasions). I would recommend Aria to anyone with a family member that has dementia. I think you would be more than satisfied. read more

When the time came that Mom needed to move into a memory care facility I did a ton of research and toured many facilities. Aria was hands down the best facility I toured. To start with I was struck by how friendly and welcoming the entire staff was. The residents were engaged in an activity that everyone seemed to be enjoying. The ENTIRE staff is extremely knowledgeable with regard to the unique needs of someone with dementia. I visit Mom daily, sometimes several times a day and have been there in the middle of the night, the staff is always extremely helpful and caring. The facility is always clean, and well maintained. The food is wonderful, exercise and daily activities are engaging and appropriate. My Mom has even told some of her out of town friends how caring and wonderful everyone is! The concern and respect the staff has shown my Mom is extremely comforting to me. I have every confidence in the staff that even when I am not there my Mother is being well cared for. Dementia is a difficult disease not only for the patient but for the family as well. With Aria it is a place for Mom to be treated with respect and dignity, but for me it is peace of mind.
