When the time came to consider an assisted living facility for my wife's parents, we toured several…read moredifferent facilities. We found some we liked and some we didn't. We wanted someplace that was new-looking, as opposed to showing its age badly, had lots of natural light, and seemed to care about the needs of the residents. We also wanted a place that had onsite memory care facilities. We looked at Sage Valley Senior Living twice and immediately liked that it was a new facility. We loved that it had lots of natural light and a different menu daily with a chef who cared about creating the best eating experience for the residents. We even had a chance to eat there during a subsequent visit with my in-laws. We found the food to be far better than expected. Even the cheeseburger was very tasty with a flame-broiled taste. Since moving them into Sage Valley, my mother-in-law has flourished and made wonderful friends. The staff has been nothing short of fantastic in their care for them. They call us and notify us of problems they discover, and they show their level of caring every day. The staff has been very friendly whenever we see them, the onsite medical staff has been fantastic, the nurses and aides have worked hard to make them feel special. During my father-in-law's final days, the staff was very helpful and always had a caring word for my mother-in-law and family. After his death, the staff rallied around my mother-in-law and greeted her with open arms and hugs when they saw her. I know every place has its challenges, and I came into this facility with eyes wide open, but my wife and I have been very happy with our decision to move them into Sage Valley.

Their combined experience is extensive and is shown on a daily basis by their excellent care and compassion. The meals that are served are completely homemade, healthy and nutritious; you won't find processed foods here. Whole foods with protein, vegetables and fruits are on the daily menu. I came to learn that the owner, Zalina, built this facility from the ground up nearly 30 years ago. It's no accident that Shenandoah Villas has been in business for that many years.

Meals were fine and staff so inattentative they allowed a client to eat with her fingers when a spoon would have been helpful. Staff expects family to get prescriptions in one day, because of lack of planning by Shenandoah, and have no comprehension that on line prescriptions are significantly cheaper for the family but take more than one day to receive. Staff protests when family members request a list of medications to order, things to get, etc. At times family members are treated as employees of Shenandoah. Staff seldom holds doors open for family members moving clients in a wheelchair and never helps family members get clients into and out of a vehicle. There are no religious services, group activities, daily exercises, hair stylists or someone to do nails and pedicures for their clients. Staff fussed at a woman who had a stroke because she couldn't hold her head upright. There is no evidence the staff has had any formal medical training and neither the staff or visiting Dr spotted a facial cancer. Socialization is not encouraged and clients are directed to go to their rooms after meals. There no DVR in the room of facility for clients to watch old time TV and shows. Chairs were placed in front of one of three exits because of a wandering Alzheimer's client. Fortunately the chairs were finally removed before any emergency occured. Senior management of this fiefdom is by a loud, dictatorial, power hungry, bossy would be warden. Absolutely no way this place deserves a 5*rating.

The place is very clean and bright with a very pleasant dining area. My parents love the food, staff and the onsite physical therapy with great therapist. I am writing to share our family's experience with Round Rock Assisted Living, following a six day…read morestay for my father from June 5th through June 10th. We made the decision to move him out urgently due to multiple failures in care, safety concerns, and misleading information provided to us prior to admission. We were referred to this facility by a hospice nurse, and during our initial conversations, Norman, nurse, assured us that my father would receive daily showers. He also stated that although they did not offer respite or trial stays, we would only be charged for the days he was there, plus a $1,500 community fee. This directly contradicted the information on their own website, which clearly advertised respite stays. The website also stated a 1:4 caregiver to resident ratio; once we questioned this, Layne, the acting owner, removed that claim from the site. During my father's six days there, the level of care was far below what was promised. The facility had only one staff member on duty responsible for cooking, baking, laundry, caregiving, and medication administration. A caregiver openly expressed feeling overwhelmed. My father received only two showers during his entire stay, both provided by the hospice nurse--not by facility staff. On June 9th, when we arrived to check on him, he was still wearing the same clothes from the previous day. My mother had to request a washcloth from Norman just to clean him up. That same evening, we discovered he had been given his medication at the wrong time (8 p.m.), which is known to cause insomnia. When my mother requested his anxiety medication, she was told it would have to wait until Norman could be reached--yet both Norman and Layne had already left for the day, as they typically do in the late afternoon. The following day, we made the decision to remove my father from the facility. When we asked Norman for his medicine while packing him up, Norman handed us another's patients' medication. Once we got home, we realized we were missing his anxiety medication( a controlled substance), we went back and the caregiver couldn't find it. We mentioned to her the incident with Norman mixing us the 2 patients medication boxes, she looked in the other patients' box and found my father's medication. This was extremely alarming and raised serious concerns about medication safety and compliance. Despite these significant failures in care, Layne has refused to refund any portion of the $7,800 my mother paid for six days. She insists that a contract was signed, while ignoring the fact that the facility did not meet the care standards they promised. It is clear that they are prioritizing sales over resident safety and well being. Layne has only been in charge for a few months, and while her father previously had a strong reputation, the current management is not operating at that standard. There is also another recent review describing a similar experience. Our Hospice nurse told us this facility had the appropriate care, she was going on previous visits when Don was in charge. Everything has changed since then. Based on what we witnessed, I strongly caution families to be aware of these issues. My father is at the end of his life, and the care he received at this facility was unacceptable and unsafe.

My wife needed extensive physical and occupational therapy. The Oscar's assisted living pricing was the most competitive. Their pricing is fixed for rehab and assisted living. That means no surprises at the end of each billing cycle. We have also found the management team to be superb. Jasmine Walker (Sales), Craig Lentz(Executive Chef) and Melissa Russell (Assistant Director), have provided the information and delivered on the services promised in their marketing literature. In April, 2026 we attended one of the Oscar's semi formal event for residents and their families. It was terrific. Kudos to Hannah Neuffer - Lifestyle Director and her department for the wonderful decorations and Hannah for the great entertainment with the Mark Charles Band. Chief Craig Lentz - Dining Director never fails to amaze diners with his entrees, sides and desserts. Chef Lentz provides wonderful meals throughout the day. We love The Bistro, The Poppy dining room and Jon's Bar. We have also found the daily activities offer a nice variety to help ensure residents have interesting and fun things to do during the day. My father arrived at Aria Memory Care in April 2015. He has been struggling with Parkinson's and…read morewas in the beginning stages of Alzheimer and Dementia. He was also recovering from a broken hip and was using a walker. Aria had the safest facilities for my father to move around. The common areas have wood floors and less clutter than other communities. I felt my father was safe. My father enjoyed being able to enjoy the out side on his own with access to their courtyard. Not all communities are set up where your loved ones can enjoy outdoors when they want to. The Facility Manager was very helpful in helping set up my fathers room as well as hanging pictures. Since my father was an engineer, the Facilities Manager took the time to have many great conversations with my father. It is great that Aria is dedicated to Memory Care. They know how to take care of all levels. The separation of cognitive and non cognitive guests is priceless. My father was able to have conversations with other guests with similar challenges. Having a loved one in a home is all ways difficult but when you arrive at Aria you really do not feel you are in a nursing home. It helped me when I was visiting my father. Last but not least the Executive Director Ceri Mackenzie is there for you and your loved ones 24 hours. I have seen this first hand. She was there for helping me manage my fathers needs. Her experience and knowledge comes in handy as anything can happen any time when you are taking care of our elders. The team reacts positively to Ceri's experience and enthusiasm. To sum it up, Aria is a gem in senior community. It offers clean, safe, easy to navigate common area floor plan, spacious individual units and a lovely courtyard to enhance for my father's daily experience. Mostly importantly, the team members are friendly, caring and do not hesitate to come to aide whenever the unexpected need rises. My father actually thrived and showed improvement in matter of weeks under their care. . I have had other family members in Brookdale, Sunrise and, and Emeritus. Aria Memory Care is superior above all other communities. I would recommend Aria to any of my close friends and family.

I chose Aria because the staff were all very caring friendly, the facility is very clean and modern, and the apartment/room was a nice size and well laid out to match, as closely as possible, my Dad's bedroom at home. My Dad has only been there 2 months but I still feel very confident I have made the right decision with Aria. Ceri Mackenzie is the medical director and she is very patient with the family and also with our Dad. She is knowledgeable and shares that knowledge to make us more comfortable with the transition. The nursing staff and aides have all been very friendly to Dad - especially Kristin, Melissa, Brandon and Jeannette - but they have all been wonderful.
