The crust is good and it really had great sauce/cheese ration. The fries we got could have fed a whole squadron of humans. That was obnoxious for one adult and one tiny human to have placed on the table in front of them. Literally had the pizza and swimming pool of fries taking up the whole table. Our drinks were smooshed in between. Had to make sure my duckhorn didn't spill. Our waiter was fantastic. I wish I remembered his name originally from Texas. Young college student that helped me the night before in the bar area too. He was very friendly and gave me some good insight on the college, food options for my son (groceries and fresh meats, etc) and just felt like I was speaking with a friend of my kid. I recently visited this restaurant as it was located inside The Hotel at Auburn University where I stayed for my recent work trip. We had breakfast there each morning for 4 days and when I mean breakfast, it was a full breakfast meal and not a quick grab and go or small buffet. I tried the ham and cheese omelet and added bacon, the Americano with bacon one day and the next day with sausage, and my breakfast the last day I chose the french toast. Everything was delicious. The bacon was cooked nice and crisp, and the mascarpone was the perfect match for the french toast. My eggs were always cooked the way I requested, over hard or over medium. Our service was actually quick since we usually started first thing right after they opened, however, service was just kind of slow on one of the days. We didn't understand how since we were the only people in there, maybe around 8 of us at that time. The ambiance was really nice and cozy. You wouldn't think you were inside of a hotel. It felt very warm and the decor was just lovely. If I'm ever back in the area, I would definitely go there again. read more

While visiting Auburn, we decided to try Ariccia for dinner, and it ended up being one of the best meals we had during the trip. The restaurant has a really warm, cozy atmosphere with candlelit tables and a relaxed but slightly upscale feel. It's the kind of place that feels perfect for a nice dinner out without being overly formal. We started with the crispy Brussels sprouts, which were packed with flavor and had that perfect crispy texture. Definitely a great way to start the meal. For the mains, we ordered the shrimp pasta and the steak with fries. The shrimp pasta was creamy and comforting, with perfectly cooked shrimp and a rich sauce that coated the pasta without feeling too heavy. The steak was cooked well and topped with a buttery herb sauce that added a lot of flavor. The fries were crispy and salty -- exactly what you want alongside a steak. We also had a couple drinks with dinner which paired really nicely with the meal and added to the relaxed vibe of the night. What really stood out though was the service. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to, and she actually chatted with us while we were eating which made the whole experience feel really welcoming. It almost felt like we were talking with family. Coming from California, that kind of warm and genuine interaction felt really refreshing. Overall, Ariccia made for a really enjoyable dinner while visiting Auburn. Between the cozy atmosphere, great food, and welcoming service, it's definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're in town and looking for a good Italian meal. Upon arrival we were confused as where to park because there was no designated sign for parking. Turns out if you are just eating at the restaurant you must valet and valet t parking is free. We did not have a reservation but I do recommend when going with a group. We were seated right away and were offered complementary water. The dinner menu is limited but has some great options. My favorite was the Caesar salad. It was so flavorful and delicious. I also got the fettuccine Alfredo and added shrimp and it was good as well. The show stopper was the lemonada drink which was amazing. The food is somewhat moderate in pricing for fine dining and comes in descent sized portions. Overall, we had a great experience and I definitely recommend this restaurant especially for people who are in the area and have a taste for Italian!! read more

We have been several times before. It appears they have made a few menu changes. The fries did not have the red pepper flakes like they use to. In my opinion, this has taken away some of the flavor that made them good. The chicken alfredo lacked flavor and was rather dry. The grilled chicken that was added to the pasta appeared unseasoned. You could get away with that if the pasta had flavor and wasn't dry, not the case here. Service was also lackluster. We received decent service up to the point of our food being served. She did not follow up with us for probably 15 minutes however. For $115 dollars, I expect high quality food and service. I will likely not go back for a while. read more

We have dined at Ariccia 3 times now and had a wonderful experience each time. We took advantage of complementary valet parking, the host and hostess seated us quickly no reservations were needed. The restaurant is clean with modern decor with comfortable seating. The servers have been professional, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about the menu. We tried this restaurant for the first time while staying in the Auburn University hotel. We were seated right away for dinner. Our server was kind of slow at times. He would take our order and then disappear and then we would be waiting on the drinks and food. There were times when I wanted to order a second drink and he was nowhere to be found. They need to work on improving their service overall. As for the food, we ordered their Margherita pizza, which was delicious as you can see in the photos below. We also tried their old fashioned drink, which didn't disappoint either. Then we tried their Calabrian fries, which come with garlic, rosemary, and some other herbs/spices. They were one of the best French fries I've had so I highly recommend them. The restaurant itself is very nice from the inside and there's ample seating available. Next time I look forward to trying some other items on the menu. read more

My companion and I decided to try this hotels Italian place. We parked at the parking deck next door and walked over to the hotel. We were met by the hostess and immediately seated. We made reservations, but they were not necessary on this Tuesday night. The waitress approached us quickly and took our drink order. We ordered the Buratta and Caesar salad. The Caesar salad was nicely dressed, but unfortunately, did not have any anchovies. The Barada was delightful and came with spiced butter apples. Our Porchetta and piccata arrive shortly there after and we're OK. I was disappointed in the Porchetta because it is supposed to be one of the 100 dishes to try and Alabama. It was pedestrian. Do you know how sometimes pork has a real pork flavor? Like it tastes like you would think pig would taste, but not the good way. Unfortunately that was the Porchetta and I'm not sure if I blame the chef or if it was just one of those pigs. The chicken piccata was fine but very lemony and the chicken breast was very small. The pasta was fine, but it was not wonderful. it definitely did not taste fresh made. I ordered the Affogato and my companion ordered the apple tart. Unfortunately, the espresso arrives, but no ice cream. The waitress noticed the problem and immediately brought a new espresso when the ice cream arrived. I had hoped to have the dish prepared in the back with a side of espresso, but alas, that was not my fate. The Affogato was serviceable, but not terrific. really disappointed that such a simple dessert did not have a strong vanilla flavor. The Apple tart was tasty, but the orange crust was a little bit heavy and conflicted with the apples. My companion and I were disappointed in the meal. OMG! Quite possibly the most decadent breakfast I have ever eaten!!!! We stayed at The Hotel at Auburn University while taking our son to visit. I'll have to review the hotel in a separate review but our stay was amazing!!! Included in our stay was breakfast at Ariccia and I cannot say enough great things about it. I had the Frittata on the first day and the tomatoes and all of the vegetables were very well done.... But on the second morning I had the Monte Cristo and was just blow away! I typically don't go for such a comfort food/crazy high caloric food but I decided we're on vacation and yolo so let's just dot it!!! I'm so happy I did, I was crunchy and cheesy and sweet and just all sorts of incredible. I can't even begin to describe the explosion of flavor that came from this sandwich. It was sweet and savory all at the same time. Oh and the decor of the patio are was perfect. It was so relaxing to be sitting outside in the morning and just taking everything in. AND it's pet friendly!!!! The table next to us had a beagle puppy who was so adorable and friendly and made my morning! read more

Breakfast is very, very good when it is hot. I would say it comes out cold half the time. (I stay in the hotel often.). Breakfast service is very good. Dinner, on the other hand, really needs some work! The service is often terrible. Presentation of meals...there isn't any. Ordered a dessert and it was served on a bread plate. Just this sad looking thing on a bread plate and it was terrible. I honestly have never had a good dinner entree. Drinks are good. I do my best to avoid having dinner there. read more

My wife and I live out of town, but travel to Auburn for home games as it is our Alma Mater. Ariccia has been our favorite restaurant the past couple years. This year something changed. We got steaks early in September and they were tough, lacked the flavor they did last year. Early November we tried again and got the branzino. Tasted fishy and old. Later in November gave it one more go. I got a steak and my wife got pasta. The pasta was good but my steak was awful. I don't know what they are doing different, but we are looking for a new favorite Auburn restaurant. read more

We enjoy brunch here daily when we visit Auburn. The service is always friendly and attentive. The decor and ambience are on point and even make breakfast feel special. My son always orders the Americana breakfast. It is consistent and delicious. We've ordered the biscuits and gravy, breakfast bowl, croque monsieur, and waffles and everything exceeded our expectations. Happy hour at the bar and dinner service are also a must try. It was the first time here. The service and food were okay- not great and not bad. Ordered a Bluesy Mule, Calabrian Fries and the Sampler Board to start. The Bluesy Mule came pink with none of the flavors described on the menu. It wasn't bad- it just was confusing- so I think they accidentally gave me the wrong drink. The Pepper fries were okay- The chili flavors did not come through. It tasted like basic store-bought red pepper flakes, not Calabrian chilis. The cheese board wasn't anything special. Pizza was considered okay- not bad, just the crust didn't hold up and there wasn't enough cheese on the margarita. Ratio of sauce/cheese/bread was off. Chicken Parm sandwich was a no-go as well (burnt) as the Calabrian Chili spaghetti. No flavor whatsoever. Tasted like store bought spaghetti noddles just dressed in oil- and that's it for something like $20! Whaaaaaa. We couldn't order off the regular dinner menu even though it was about 40 mins after 2:00PM, and their "brunch" menu ends at 2. I absolutely loved my experience at Arricia! The food was outstanding! I ordered the Funghi pizza and the flavors were so explosive. The others at my table ordered the Alfredo and the bruchetta pizza and from what I sampled the dishes were also five star. The ambiance of the restaurant is also beautiful. Im guessing the reviews are just from tourists traveling to see their children graduate. Been a couple times and am never really impressed, especially when it comes to drinks. The bartender was so confused when I asked for a drink they used to make, but "don't have" anymore. She wasn't sure they could make custom drinks . . . you're a bartender. . . She ended up making it and charging me some ridiculous price, despite it being off their current online menu. It was under construction for a while so I have no idea. The food is hit or miss. I feel like it's in an awkward of trying to be a fancy Italian restaurant, but not knowing how. Something is just off, between the staff, the ambiance, the menu, and the price.. If you're staying at the hotel, sure - go for it, but there are MANY outstanding places to try that aren't as "lost". read more

We had the white bean hummus to start and it was really good; served with focaccia. I had the rigatoni Bolognese and for me it was just ok. But my friend had the porchetta which is on the "100 things to eat" in ALABAMA list. I tried it and it was really good. My friend said it was one of the best meals she ever had! It was a slow roasted 8 hour pork - like a roulade. And had white beans, a gravy, and charred Brussels sprouts. I would go back for this. read more

I went here for brunch with my family. I was really impressed with the food! I got the Florentine omelette with hash brown casserole and it was amazing. The antipasto board was nice too, with a good portion size. My family enjoyed their meals too. The margarita pizza was slightly undercooked, but very tasty. The burger was great. I will definitely be back. The only negative thing I have to say about the restaurant is that the arancini balls are listed as vegetarian, but when I asked I found out they are made with chicken broth. I called the restaurant and informed them I had a severe dairy allergy. And asked if it was possible for the Chef could make me pasta with garlic and olive oil . It was the best pasta I had, I have ordered this before in other Italian restaurants and it was swimming in oil, this was not and the chef had pieces of toasted garlic in the pasta.
